OWB 11 g r2 for the repository of database 10g for HP Itanium (Linux)

Hello

I need some information gurus...

I have repository OWB 10 g r2 for my current project, now I want to use owb 11g r1 or r2 clinet s/w on the same owb 10g r2 repository, located on GNU / linux HP Itanium 64-bit.

If so, you can u pls let me know all necessary measures or s/w required

Thanks in advance

You must upgrade your owb repository in the database of 10.2 11R1 or 11R2. The version of the client must be identical to the version of the repository. But you can update the repository and store in a database of 10.2.

  • The upgrade of database 10g to 11g with minimal downtime?

    Hi all

We want to improve our 10.2.0.4 RAC database for 11.2.0.3 linux linux RAC. We have two different servers, where one is the production server (10.2.0.4) and another is the 11.2.0.3 Server.

Here, we want to minimize downtime of the production database.

Our db size is close to 1 TB. If we turn to the traditional method of upgradation as given below, then it will take nearly 15 hours:

    1. take RMAN 10 g bkp.

    2. transfer to server 11 g.

    3. restore the db.

    4. set at the database level.

I had two methods to minimize the downtime that arise as follows, but I'm not sure that these means are feasible or not...

    1st method:

Our server of db source here is 10.2.0.4 and target db server is 11.2.0.3.

    1. create a DR on the target server. (10.2.0.4)

-Here we have installed the software (stand-alone) db to 10.2.0.4 on the target server, but also some 11.2.0.3 rac linux.

-All data of Dr. files will be filesystem (not on ASM).

Synchronize the database of production with the Dominican Republic.

    2. break the DR and turn it on.

3 close the db and move the datafiles of the DR to ASM storage (11.2.0.3)

    4. start PB with option upgrade and update.

It will take nearly 5 hours.

    2nd method:

-Install the software grid 11g and 10g and 11 g db Server db software target.

-We set up DR as first method but the grid HERE home will be 11 g and db House will be 10 g.

-Now we will synchronize the DR with data base of production.

-to activate the 10g database (target server)

-will restart the database 11g House and then we will modernize it.

Here I want to know that is it possible to create a DR with the following configuration?

Production DB is 10.2.0.4 and DR is configured with 11g grid and g 10 db House.

    Kindly give your entries...

    Kind regards

Thank you all for your suggestions.

  • Switch the database 10g from Windows to Linux (new server)

    Hi people,

I'm still new here and I'm working on a project. I'm trying to move a database 10 g of Windows on a new server with Linux 5. Please what are the steps I need to take?

    * The present Server (Windows 7) is in noarchivelog mode
    * There is practically no link between this 2 servers
    * This is a development environment, and so I have a lot of time to experiment.

    Thank you!

    Hello
DataPump (expdp/impdp) is the way to go. expdp create a 'logic' of the database dump - create some think it's just a series of statements and insert statements written in a file. This file is generic and can be used on any platform. If your shipping it a long way (not sure how far Virginia is you another site) you can zip it before sending it. At the other end you just need to create a database of "shell" - that is a very basic database which you are then going to create all objects (maybe version different oracle - with some restrictions). Then use impdp to transfer the file and create everything.

    See you soon,.

  • What is the repository of Dell for Ubuntu 14.04

    Hello

Recently, I bought a Dell Inspiron 15 laptop 5555 with pre installed Ubuntu 14.04. However, it came with single partition for home and root that is not a recommended practice. So I reinstalled Ubuntu 14.04. However, I forgot to note the URL of the repository for Dell. Now my problem is like the Dell laptop driver is not installed the 'Fn' key does not work. The downloads on Dell section shows only the Windows Driver. The clientele is pathetic and they me slam just as if I did a sin by buying portable Ubuntu.

  • Location of the repository for the link (EAL) Essbase Analytics settings?

In Essbase Analytics link (EAL), where are the Repository EAL parameters stored?  I think I saw a param or .ini file, but I can't seem to locate it in the application directory.  I try to find it, because I've reconfigured EAL to use another database for the repository, but that it always points to the original database in spite of what the configuration tool shows.

You must update the JDBC information stored in WebLogic if the web application is not redeployed, you can change the source of data through the weblogic administration console or go to \user_projects\domains\EPMSystem\config\jdbc\EAL_Repository-xxxx-jdbc.xml

  • Share the repository in OEM for OBIEE 11.1.1.7

    Hi all

I'm working on Essbase, I had the chance to work on OBIEE.

    Installed and configured successfully.

    Database: 11g R2

    UCR: 11.1.1.7

    OBIEE: 11.1.1.7

I created a model with a single Essbase application and uploaded to the repository in Oracle Enterprise Manager and began to create some analysis.

Now, I created a different model with another Essbase application and uploaded to the repository in OEM, now in OBIEE I can not access the earlier.

I got to know why we have to use the repository share, but I am unable to set the location for it

I tried with several options but its not allowing to update the location of the repository of the action, get the error "'did not apply the information in the repository" "

An acceptable syntax is: "/ net/machine/disk3/sharedrpddata ', I tried with below those

    • \ORACLE_INSTANCE\bifoundation\OracleBIServerComponent\coreapplication_obisn\repository
    • $ORACLE_INSTANCE\bifoundation\OracleBIServerComponent\coreapplication_obis1\repository
    • \\MachineName\C$\OBIEE11g\instances\instance1\bifoundation\OracleBIServerComponent\coreapplication_obis1\repository

  • OWB on windows - load in the linux database

    Hello

Now that I understand that I must create an owner of the repository in the database where I load my data, I am facing another problem:
Using the wizard of windows repository, I tried to create an owner of the repository on a linux database, but there is a step named 'Oracle home for the Installation of OWB' where I'm stuck. Overall, the error message says I have to install OWB on the linux machine.
So my question is: I do not understand the message or I really need to install OWB on the linux machine, even if I have the product installed on a windows server?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello

You must install the repository on the target (linux) database. You just need to install the client on your windows machine.
You must download the binary OWB (.gz file) from the website of oracle for your linux configuration (hardware/software) and unzip it and place it under a directory under linux.
    Say/oracle/owb10gr2

When you unpack, you should see/oracle/owb10gr2/owb... and all the other directories

You can install the OWB repository using your windows client. When you reach step 'Home for the Installation of Oracle OWB'
give the path of your OWB House on linux IE/oracle/owb10gr2

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards
    Sam.

  • How can I view the repository of 12 c OBIEE 'active' in read-only mode

After using the data-model file - cmd.cmd batch download a SPR, SPR becomes a sequentially numbered file in this directory:

    'C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\bi\bidata\service_instances\ssi\metadata\datamodel\customizations '.

And I presume that the new file numbered sequentially (for example, liverpd.rpd_2) is now the repository that is actively used as referential 'live' by OBIEE.

Is there a way to open this deposit 'live' in the Administration tool?  If I try to do, I am notified that I can only open it read-only.  Well Yes, that's fine, that makes perfect sense.  (It also means I'm trying to open the 'live'.  So far so good.)  I am prompted for the password for the repository.  Type the correct password repository fails.  A simple dialog: the connection has failed.

Certainly, I type the correct password repository.  Is it maybe a bug?

Does not work like that more. This password is there for a reason (RPDs live in 12 c are MUCH more complex than before) and nobody knows - because you don't need.

You can Open the RPD online, or you can use the data-model-cmd downloadrpd to get a copy of the current version of live.
