  I think that the Migration tool will automatically your old 10G two schema in a unique pattern of 11G. But during the preparation stage, you should always make 2 different clone (1 for the master of 10 g) and 1 for the work of 10 g. Do not try to make a clone single 10g, I don't know what could be the impact...

  I don't think that google translation will be very useful in this context.
  Here are the tips I task list:

  (1) patterns of ODI export10g in the DMP files repository

  example: my 10g patterns are 'ODI_MASTER' and 'ODI_WORK '.
  exp userid = odi_master / * odi_master * file = c:\odi_master10g.dmp
  exp userid = odi_work / * odi_work * file c:\odi_work10g.dmp

  (2) the import of the dump file in new patterns in the new database (or is it the same database? in my case, it was another)

  But, in order to solve the bug I mentioned before, I also import the working repository in a schema with the SAME NAME as the original
  IMP userid = password/SYSTEM touser = * odi_work * fromuser = odi_work file = c:\odi_work10g.dmp
  (in my case, I have 2 other database: one for ODI 10 g and one for ODI 11 G)

  (3) install 11 g ODI (without creating repository)

  (4) run the upgrade wizard: "ua.bat." You must have a variable JAVA_HOME declared in windows.
  -in step 2, choose the second option with the box of 3
  -during the migration process, give the connection on the master schema cloned (odi_master_10g) information
  - then give the password of "odi_work_10g" OR, if not possible (bug?) the 'odi_work '.
  -wait until the end of the migration

  (5) run ODI 11 g Studio
  -create a new connection connected to the schema 'odi_master_10g' (it was converted correctly in 11g, now)
  -Choose the associated job ref detected by ODI
  -use the login of the supervisor (and then create the new login name user/admin with security module if you want)

  (6) to connect with this new connection name
  -check if your projects anre models are here
  -Check if your topology is just

  You can run a PL within a procedure, you simply copy paste your PL and place in a procedure inside the ODI.

  I downloaded the latest version of ODI 12 c and I don't see newcomers tablefunction, pivot and operator nupivot lso compenentes when editing a mapping.

  Supposedly, I have installed the patch:

  On the page, I don't find any other patch to download so I guess I got them all (those that come with the download FULL ODI 12 c)

  There is a fundamental difference between generated code OWB and ODI code generated.
  OWB especially generates control loaded package files or sql oracle wchich can easily be called from a Proc Storeed.

  But in the case of ODI, the final product is XML scenario file IE. All information related to the interface/procedure/package etc are scattered through various repository table and it is very difficult to write a Proc Storeed and connect inter between these tables.

  ODI scenario can be called from the rinse command prompt supplied ODI startscen.bat/sh utility

  Well, the fundamental difference is hard to tell. ODI is based on so-called knowledge module. These are implementations for physical access to all type (among others) different database technologies. So ODI used to be more flexible data extraction technology of database different and also written their. But with 11.2 OWB, these knowledge modules have been integrated in owb under so-called model mappings. OWB has stronger integration with the Oracle database and Oracle database is still required. Plans of Oracle to integrate these two tools in one some day, whenever that will be. ODI offers more options for the quality of the data (which are charged extra).

  Technically speaking, both tools are not very different. They have different UIs anyway.

  A big difference is the license. A basic version of OWB is included with the license database, it can be used without extra charge. Most of our customers use this version, even for implementations of large dwh. If you buy'm license ETL (or already have one), you can use both tools.

  Before decide you on one of the tools, make sure you have enough staff with the right skills available - internal or external.

  I'm migrating ODI 10 g, 11 g with the Assistant provided by Oracle , but each time, I get the following message:

  [ODI] [INCIDENT_ERROR] [UPGCMP-00338] [update. Repository working ODI ODI] 'ODI_WORK' uses JDBC Driver "com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver".

  [ODI] [INCIDENT_ERROR] [update. ODI] Cause: ODI work Repositoriry don't use default JDBC driver. Action: Please update connection ODI repository work to use default JDBC driver

  I'll install ODI 11.1.1.7.0 in a new environment but my ODI to 'former environment' was to 10.1.3 version.

  I would like to know if there is no document Oracle explaining if I have to do a few steps before the migration or what I have to do is export from the former and import them into the new version of one.

  Here's the documentation: upgrading your Oracle Data Integrator 11 g Release 1 (11.1.1) - environment

  You cannot migrate more old to new. You must upgrade using Upgrade Wizard at level utility provided with the ODI 11 g installation files.

  You can clone Master & repositories/schemas work in your scenario to upgrade to the new environment.

  For some reason, our db guys are decided to move Oracle db to another machine, but we do not want to migrate ODI. It will cause a performance problem?

  (2) master export and work redemption in ODI (I have to import them after step 3?)
  No, because I believe that you copy the diagram with tables and data, you should be fine.

  (3) change snps_login_work.xml AND snps_login_security.xml
  Yes, edit the xml file. Once you're in topology change the repository with new db schema USER ID and the password, then save.
