  I'd love to help get rid you of the error you see. I suggest you Open the Device Manager and remove the 'unknown' printer you probably see here.

  I have a Deskjet 1512 printer ' All in one '.

  I followed the instructions of installation and configuration up to the last comma - and still some 6.5 hours later - I still have a new printer that doesn't work.

  I am running Windows XP / SP3 / Dotnet 3.5

  I ran the installation disc (supplied), made a cup of tea, ticked the boxes, responded to the questions.

  In short - I tried:

  • Remove all previous installations of HP and Dot Net 3.5 software
  • Relocation of all of the above
  • 4 x different USB cords
  • All the different USB ports on my PC
  • Swearing and the curse (usually works with Microsoft Products only)

  The only thing I have NOT tried, is witch Craft and Country dance.

  Any other suggestions would be very appreciated...

  Update...

  I completely erased from my hard drive and reinstalled XP, SP3/Net fix...

  The printer is installed the first time.

  If everything is working now.

  There was something installed hidden somewhere that the installation process didn't like.

  I have a printer HP Deskjet 3050 a J611 (very basic, but it will print). I am re - install Win 7 x 64 SP1 to a specific format because of system files corrupted who could not fix the System File Checker. No idea when and how they became corrupt but each re-boot required 1 BSoD before Windows will start successfully. Literally. I have AVG Internet Security installed 2014 and showing everything is clean; Also clean the State of health of SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes'. Also have Online Armor for my firewall and as my AntiLogger Zemana.

  After you have finished reinstall the base OS, I have installed the latest video driver for my card Radeon HD5570, installed all the drivers for the MB chipset and installation of various startup programs keep processor, of various photographic software for partitioning and other utilities system disk in drive. Everything installed without any problem, that it is downloaded or run from the hard drive.

  Now I'm going to re - install my faithful old printer and nothing will. Be it from the hard drive or the CD, more comprehensive-based driver downloaded from HP. Nothing happens when I double-click the icon or file. The hourglass appears briefly, and then the mouse pointer is displayed again; the activity ends. So far, I looked into (no printer) Device Manager, devices and printers that has an unknown device that looks like a laser printer (mine is an inkjet), and no matter what I do, I cannot get rid of it (uninstall, it hibernates, there is simply no option given).   I found the answer. I started to have issues that I tried to install other software that I had already used without problem. The major change - a new firewall (Online Armor) program was to blame. He began to block everything.

  So I went back to my old Firewall (I was wrong, blamed for some of the BSoD), and installed everything with aplumb. I thank those who have read the posting.

  I uninstalled everything related to my HP printer (in the Device Manager: printers and print queues) and searched my computer for everything related to my HP printer and deleted stuff also. Then I reinstalled the drivers and software from the HP website. I have updated Java also (I have no idea how much this has to do with my impression). I have my printer is off and unplugged for one minute before Relighting. I restarted my computer and now it seems to be printing normally. Praise the LORD!

  When installing drivers or software support for a device, it's always a good idea for the installation software right click and choose run as administrator. Acknowledge the UAC confirmation and provide credentials if requested.

EVERYTHING IS RUNNING WELL HUNG OF THE PRINTER. THE DEFAULT PRINTER IN THE RIGHT IMAGE. THE ONLY THING I NOTICED WAS IN THE PORT AREA. UNDER THE WINDOW VISTA, I GOT TWO PORTS. ONE WAS FOR THE PRINTER AND OTHER FAX. WHEN THE HP PRINTER HAS BEEN REINSTALLED, I DON'T KNOW IF IT STARTED WITH ONLY ONE PORT.   I have a Lexmark X 2500 printer. After installing new print cartridges, the printer gives me the error message to order more ink. The printer does not recognize the new ink cartridges that have been installed.  There is a warning on the ink cartridges to do not touch the contacts on the bottom of the cartridges.
