  • LaserJet P1505n printer: How can I change the host name to NPI1BDC68 to meaninful something more?

My network, a HP LaserJet P1505n printer, host name is set to NPI1BDC68. Is this cable or is there a way for me to change? Trying to solve: manuals were reviewed, Forum questions were searched, google General search conducted. I am running Win XP and a Mac Pro with OS X 10.6.8.

Well, which took me 10 minutes to solve.  I found the answer on a HP site based in France. (I kinda changed my google query and tried again.)  The site asks on first access, if you wish to continue in English, thankfully.  http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01175001

In short, use Internet Explorer or Safari, go to the IP address of your network printer.  For Win XP users, you can determine the IP address using, start/printers and faxes /(select printer)/properties/ports tab / select new/Configure button/second field printer port to down the IP address shown.

Once connected to the network printer subsystem, select the Networking tab.  The host name is the first field which can be changed. Enter a new name from 1 to 15 characters.  Tip: He doesn't like spaces. Underscores work well and the new name can be mixed case. Press the button apply at the bottom of the screen when done.  Warning appears that access to the printer may need to be changed if the IP address has been changed.  Acknowledge the warning. Printer goes offline for a few seconds. The page automatically refreshes and the new host name can be confirmed by inspection.

  • LaserJet P1505n - "printer off-line" message and will not be printed

I use MAC OS 10.8.4. connected to the printer via the ethernet connection

Have had on and outside messages as the "printer is not connected" and it will not be printed. Sometimes, I can't print a day and may the next day.  All connections are correct.

I followed the suggestion online HPs and deleted the name of the printer in system preferences - print and scan. Turned things market according to the guidelines. Supposedly I should be able to add the printer, but it will not be displayed in the list of printers. Cannot reinstall from the disc because there has been updates.

Now am stuck with how to make it work again.

Thanks - I can try your suggestions. The firewall is all that came with my iMac and has never been a problem before and I made no changes to it recently.

Before I try something that will help me get the printer displayed in the selection list so I can add it to my System Prefs?

  • Cannot print in landscape of laserjet p1505n

I have 2 p1505n, each on kubuntu 12.10 and hplip 3.12.6, a home, at the office.  The one at home works fine, but it has 20120201 firmware, while the Bureau has firmware 20080505 and does not print in landscape.  Otherwise everything is the same.  I tried every setting possible.

Thank you for your time and effort.  I tried years ago, unfortunately, solve the problem with settings in the hp driver management software and controls settings of CUPS, as well as in the software.  Once again, please note that I use Linux, specifically Kubuntu 12:10, a Debian-based system.

I have done extensive research and seem to have solved the problem, but still don't understand a part of the solution.  First, I installed the printer on a Windows computer and updated the Firmware.  Then I switched printers, both the same model and firmware, between two Linux computers with only one additional difference: one was usb and the other wired network.  Even after the passage of the printers, I still could not print in landscape on a system.  After an extensive Internet search, I discovered the rare occasions of this for a few other people.  The solution proved to be this: for every document that is to be printed in landscape on a system, I have to go to configuration/properties/printing device and replace N - Up printing to PostScript (level Dirver) language and landscape.  I think this is the last step of the printing language which is the key.

That leaves me with one question: why is - it has to do? Or, rather, how can I get the default value.  It seems that, when the landscape is chosen on some systems, the default language is something like pdf.

    Thanks again.

  • LaserJet 1505n: cannot print on 1505n Workstation Windows 7 x 64 - no way no how?

Recently built a new Windows 7 work station using my usual model - and trying to install/connect to our LJ 1505n - which is hanging on 192.168.1.8 connected to a switch in my wife's Office.

While the driver to install and the instance printed on my work station all look great - if I try and print a test page - the page hangs in the spooler - as always.

If I right click on the printer icon in the taskbar - right after sending the test page - I see the doc on hold and waiting. I dropped the camera and reinstalled about 5 times. I ran the HP print and Scan Doctor against the installed instance - it is said that all goes well. But even by making a Test print from the doctor - never complete.

I can go to 192.168.1.8 via a browser, and the printer is all good. Everything is good. The device is online. Device is accessible, etc. who responded.

    What I'm missing here?

    Sonic.

    Drakster,

I have an update to this issue. It made me mad that other devices on our network have been able to print fine to the P1505n without having to mess around with the printer, the switch or anything else.

Yesterday afternoon, I did a test with my workstation DAW studio - shot - print a test page - everything was good. Did the same thing to my workstation (the only works not properly) and encountered the same obstacle.

I noticed if I right click on the printer icon tiny in the printing status bar and choosing queue to print the 1505 - I could see my expectation of document - but the status column displays "error - printing". Not very useful.

Then - I finally understood the question. My workstation has installed software VPN (pulse of Juniper) and I remember very well have questions like this before - where software Pulse - when enabled - would throw up a wall around the PC and do not leave any substance network happens - like impression.

Basic printing product despite the message. The expected state of the LaserJet messages do not seem to appear (for example, the message of the insert to envelopes paper) or double-sided printing instructions.  Manual double-sided printing seems to be unreliable. Hey @Joe-TN,.

@Sunshyn2005 is not in the office today, but I can certainly help you until Sunshyn2005 is back in the office on Monday.

    To clear your Laserjet queues:

If the P1505n is connected to your printer using a USB cable, remove it.

Close all other programs that you have open.

In your search type in printers bar and open devices and printers.

Right click on all the P1505 listed icons.

    Click on remove the instrument.

Repeat for all the other icons of the printer listed.

In your type of Services Research and open Component Services.

On the left, click Services (Local).

Right click on on the right print spooler.

    Click on stop.

Open your drive C:\, then Windows, System 32, coil, and printers.

    Delete everything in this folder.

Return to the Component Services window.

    Right-click on print spooler.

    Click Start.

If you removed the USB cable, connect. If this is not the case, click on add printer and follow the prompts to add your queue.

Please let me know the results after following the above. If you are able to print, click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

  • HP LaserJet P1505n, connected by Ethernet cable, all of a sudden cannot get an IP by DHCP.

My HP LaserJet P1505n, connected by an Ethertnet to my LAN, has worked flawlessly for the past three years.  The last time that I shot it, he could not get an IP by DHCP.  I checked by printing a self-test page.  The IP address is 0.0.0.0.  I looked at the page self test three years ago and I saw that the IP address is 192.168.0.100.

No recent changes have been made to my network.  I checked the Ethernet cable and connect to my router were very well by changing the Ethernet cable with a laptop.  The laptop worked with two cables and connections while the printer did not work with a configuration.

Suggestions (not to mention that trying to deal with HP support - a catastrophe) would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for your timely response. This morning, the problem itself. I have a few computers on the network. The two I tried to print from, running WIN XP and the other running Ubuntu Linux. When any printed a test page, I checked the list of DHCP clients on my router Belkin (unknown model) and found that the printer was not present. It is while I printed the test page and found the IP 0.0.0.0. That was the case Saturday last until last night. This morning, I checked the list of DHCP clients again and the printer (miraculously?) appears in the list. I left the system all night and can't explain why she came back the printer works normally on computers and operating systems. To answer your other questions, all the lights on the printer and the router seemed to be turned on normally throughout this whole ordeal. On the printer, the green light was on and the amber light flashes occasionally. It is another mystery that me baffled. Finally, when I swapped the Ethernet cable, it's the printer not on the router. Who's going to change the port on the router. No configuration has been working on the printer; However, the two worked using my laptop. I was not looking for a hard reset as you suggest. I turned only the printer works without having cut the power. If the problem recurs, it will be the first thing to try. Thanks again for your response. If you have other thoughts, I'd love to hear them. My wife has managed to pick up a HP Deskjet 3050 to a market with no documentation. I'll try to install it on my system very soon. I may come back to this forum. Finally, I withdraw my comment about the HP support. I'm pleasantly surprised that an employee of HP replied.

  • Location of printer driver

I am currently looking for several HP printers. However, all printers have windows update for driver search. I do not want to do because I'm deployment of a print server that will have drivers for Windows xp 32 and 64 bit, windows 7 32 and 64 bit windows 8.1 64-bit windows 2003 and 2012 R2 64-bit, of course. Update Windows drivers do not work for this situation. Can someone point me to a place where I can get drivers separated by hand?

    Hello

Try the following steps, these steps will guide you to download Windows Update drivers from the Windows Update Catalog, which can be extracted and deployed on your print server that follows.

Be aware that you will need several packages for different printers and deiffrent operating systems, remember to follow the instructions in Microsoft article 323166 Knowledge Base to extract and install the drivers:

    http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/kb/docDisplay/?spf_p.tpst=kbDocDisplay&spf_p.prp_kbDocDisplay=wsrp-navigationalState%3DdocId%253Demr_na-c02536257-20%257CdocLocale%253D%257CcalledBy%253D&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken#N10034

  • HP LaserJet P1505n necessary device drivers.

Where can I find Windows Server 2008 drivers x 32 & x 64 for HP LaserJet P1505n peripheral? I find HP Driver Support and was unable to find drivers for this device.

    Hi mbaranowski,

There is not a driver of HP for Server 2 k 8 (32-bit or 64-bit) that the product is released about 4 years ago.

However, what I would like to try in this situation is either:

    (a) host Based pilot PnP for 2 k 3

-Download the pilot PnP (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=bi-55240-6&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=1005&product=3435668&sw_lang=) based host to Server 2 k 3.

-Use a program such as 7zip to extract the exe files.

-Install the printer pointing to the .inf

    or,

    (b) attempt to install using the UPD (Universal Print Driver) - http://h20331.www2.hp.com/hpsub/cache/343033-0-0-225-121.html?jumpid=ex_r2845_go/upd

Note: As indicated in the table below, the P1505 is not listed as supported a product... but it is worth trying.

    Hope this helps

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support. It seems that you experience problems printing to a Wi - Fi printer. Looks like you already have a troubleshooting. I recommend reading this article, you have already done some steps here, but there is more information you have not mentioned by train.

    3. From the Finder, choose go > go to folder. Type /Library/Printers/ , and then click surGo.
    4. The Printers folder opens. Choose Edition > select all to select all the items in the folder.
    5. Choose file > new folder with selection to all the selected items in a new folder named new folder with the elements.
