P2015d duplex issue on new computer

Cannot get Laserjet P2015d to print double-sided on the new computer with Windows 7 64 bit system.  Go to the Web page that says update driver down to the last 2 days

Make sure the driver knows that a duplex unit is present on the printer (assuming that one is):

  • For the instance of the printer in question, bring up the printer properties dialogue.
  • Select the device settings tab.
  • Make sure the duplex unit is set to installed and not installed.

Acrobat 6, released in 2003, replaced by version 7 in 2005. If your software is nine years older than your operating system. This is rarely a good combination.

If you upgrade your operating system, you should think to upgrade your software too.

  • Printing a Web page to a .pdf or .xps file generates a file but it is empty. How can I fix it? I have Firefox 40.0 on a new computer laptop for Windows 10

When I print a Web page to a .pdf or .xps file, it creates a new file, but file Explorer says it's 0 KB in size. These .pdf files will open, but they are white - the only thing that appears is the outline of a page, without anything in the outline. When I print an .xps file, File Explorer shows that it contains 0 KB. When I try to open it, I get a message saying that the XPS Viewer cannot open the file. These things just started for me a few days after I installed Firefox 40.0 on a new computer laptop of Toshiba Satellite with 10 Home Windows operating system. I have the latest version of Flash Player (in fact, I just tried redownloading and reinstalling the current version; that does not solve the problem). I tried to change the format by default to print to .pdf file, but that has not solved the problem. I contacted the chat Windows support site; They told me that it was not a Windows problem. Is this a Firefox problem? If so, you can tell me how to solve the problem, please?

First of all, try to disable the extensions to see if that helps this, then try safe mode.

  • I can't transfer my profile to a new computer.

My old computer is virtually unusable. So I bought a new one and wanted to install my user profile on the computer last on this new computer. However, when I followed the instructions to come do so nothing. I did it with an another computer before and all my tabs, bookmarks and history came when I imported the profile, so I don't know what is the issue. Can anyone help?

The new computer is a Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 running Windows 8.

In case you have only copied the profile folder and not the profiles.ini then Firefox doesn't find this profile and keep creating or using the last profile created by default.

It is best to copy only the data you need from the old profile to the current profile and reinstall the extension and make other customizations once again.

  • iTunes deletes music synchronized to new computer...

I have to be honest, it is less of an issue and more just me desperately need help.  I tried to sync my iPod (4th generation) to my new laptop with a USB cable, and after that, I had downloaded music has been removed from my iPod.  105 to 72 songs, 6 hours of audio songs to 4.  It was a mixture of songs that I had bought from iTunes and the music that I downloaded on the computer.  I didn't know this would happen, the search of the forums told me it deletes nothing had not provided iTunes, let alone real purchase iTunes songs.  So I tried to go and restore the backup of the iPod, buuut of course he says that there is not enough storage on the iPod to save.  What is the restore point, if it doesn't even go to work, I mean it's not like I'm adding more to what I had originally, right?  Anyway, if you can't tell, I'm a little upset.  I would be grateful if anyone has assistance or advice that could be useful in this situation.  I guess I have two questions:

If I remove, say, all my music or something to open a storage capacity of the iPod and then try to restore the backup, it would be re - download what I had deleted or who would eventually lose as well?

Alternatively, if I get the original computer to run, where I had downloaded music in the first place, I would be able to use a flash drive to transfer the data to the new computer and then transfer to the iPod, all this without loss of data in the process?

I would be grateful the help, thanks.

I don't know how you came to this conclusion. Synchronization in general an Apple device with a new library replaced the content on the device with what is in the library. There is a warning asking you to confirm that you want to erase and sync the device. The deletion of the word should be clear.

I hope you can get the old computer shot long enough to collect the library. Otherwise you may have to run his external hard drive to recover data.

Migrate a library iTunes from one computer to another

These are two approaches that work normally to move an existing library to a new computer.

    Method 1

    1. Save the library with this trick of the user.
    2. Remove the old computer if you no longer wish to access content protected on it.
    3. Restore the backup to your new computer by using the same tool used to back it up.
    4. Keep your current backup in the future.

    Method 2

Connect the two computers on the same network. Share your old computer < user music > folder and copy the folder of library full iTunes in the < user music > on the new folder. Yet once, remove the old computer so is no longer necessary.

These two methods should give the new computer, a clone of the library work which was on the former. What about iTunes is it is still the 'home' for your devices library you should not have problems with iTunes will erase and reload.

I recommend method 1 because it establishes a current backup for your library.

Note If you have iOS devices and that you have not reached your contacts and calendar all in all items, then you need to create a dummy entry in your new profile and iTunes expected to merge existing data from the device.

If your media folder has been separated in the main folder of iTunes, you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a library of portable split.

If you are in the unfortunate position where you're able to access your original library or a backup and then see recover your iTunes from your iPod or an iOS device to get tips on how to configure your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

  • Problems move iTunes to new computer Windows 10

My apologies in for raising this issue again, but I searched here and all over the web and can't seem to find an answer to my question.

My old laptop Win 7 died a few weeks ago.  My new laptop is Win 10.  Fortunately, although the old machine is kaput, I managed to remove the HARD disk and all data was still in tact and accessible.  I moved the folder the folder iTunes music on my old HDD to my music folder on my new computer.  I moved also all of my actual files of original music for the new computer; Once again, all in the same exact location.  I have also authorized the new computer in iTunes.

However, when I run iTunes, even if all my albums appear, when I try to play a song that I get the dreaded dialog box that says: "the song _ could not be used because the original file cannot be found. You want to locate? "and even more formidable exclamation point appears next to the songs.

I followed every piece of advice that I can find; I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes several times; I installed iTunes and moved the old iTunes folder in different orders. I copied tried copying the contents of the iTunes folder from my old computer into the iTunes folder on the new computer, when I recently install iTunes.  Nothing works.

I also noticed that on my old machine, the iTunes database (file * .itl) was actually in the iTunes of parent folder, whereas, when I install iTunes from scratch, the default location for the iTunes database (file * .itl) was in the iTunes media subfolder.  I tried to set up my iTunes 'old' folder in the two formats when I copy on the new machine, but doesn't seem to make a difference.

I know that I could go and use the option 'Search' for each album, but it is an extremely difficult task because of the large amount of music I have in iTunes.

No matter what I do, iTunes can't find the original music files, even when I go in the Advanced preferences and redirect manually to the * file itl.  I can't help thinking that at the wrong place simply indicates the file *.til, and I don't know how to change it.

The only things I can think of that might be the cause of the problem are:

    1. is this something from Win 7 to Win 10 (seems unlikely, because others have not reported this problem); or

2 would it be that the drive letter and path where my music folder is on my new machine are both different from my old machine?

On my old machine, I had a c: / partition that contains the programs and the operating system and a d: / partition for data, where my music folder.

On the new machine the OS and data are stored on the c: / drive. It is "hid" d: / partition with data recovery.

Also, on the old machine, my data stored in a folder of the user who was named with my first name (e.g. D:/users/FirstName/music).  But, when I created my account on the new machine to win 10 automatically named my user folder by appropriating the first 5 letters of the email address that I used, I understand is standard to win 10 (for example, C:/users/Email/music).

These are guesses, but I'm all out of ideas.  Is it possible that someone here might be able to help me to rectify this situation?  Sorry to be so long-winded, but hope the more information, more likely it is, I'll be able to find a solution.  Thanks in advance for any guidance.

The "missing file" error occurs if the file is no longer where iTunes is expected to find. Causes possible is that you or a third-party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, one of its parent folders, or the reader, he feeds has been a change to the drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from waiting for the files in the presentation of pre-iTunes 9 post-iTunes 9 layout, or vice versa, and so looking for a bit in the wrong place.

Select a track with an exclamation point, use Ctrl - I to get the information, and then click No when asked to try to locate the track. Look under the file tab for the location that iTunes thinks that the file should be. Now look around your hard drive. I hope you can locate the track in question. If a part of your library has just been moved, renamed a folder or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse actions. If the difference between the two railroads is an additional music directory in a path, then it is a problem of layout. I can explain more if this is the case. If everything is where it is supposed to be trying to fix the security permissions for iTunes for Windows.

In some cases, iTunes may be able to repair itself if you go through the same steps with Get Info, but this time, click on search and browse the lost track. He peut then offers to try to automatically correct the other broken links. Although he said something like 'use the same location' I think he expects to find titles in the same provision, artist / album, they were previously, with a systematic change to the path.

If another application like Windows Media Player has moved/renamed files then the chances are that subtle differences in naming strategies will make it difficult to restore media on the precise way that iTunes is expected. In this case, as long as the missing files somewhere, you should be able to use my FindTracks script for reconnecting to iTunes. See this post for an explanation of how it works.

If you want me to try to provide specific advice, please post back the following details:

    1. The location of the media file under Edit > Preferences > advanced
    2. The location of a sample of missing follow indicated under Get Info > file > location which begins file://localhost/
    3. The real path to the file which you gave 2 details.

See also make a library of portable split for some information on the standard layout for the iTunes library.

  • copy the address book to new computer

Hi all. I have a Mac Pro 1.1 running OS X 10.6.8 and a Mac Pro 3.1 10.9.5 running. I'm upgrading to an iphone 4 to a 6 s more. I have serious duplication of notes, contacts, and calendar for the last 5 years issues. My iphone 4 has hundreds of dups of the contacts and notes that would not remove for nothing. So I went through all the notes and contacts and all the destruction, updates, etc. in the old mac pro (which can't go beyond the current OS X), and cannot load the latest version of itunes to connect iphone more than 6 s. So, I'm in a bit of a bind to get the new phone in place. My thought is put in place the new phone on the newer computer as a new installation, so not to risk the old corrupt Info more back ups on the old computer becomes a problem. But since I can't (even if I wanted to) connect the new phone to itunes of the older for synchronization computer, I would like to copy the address book complete, all notes, and calendars of the old mac pro, place items to the appropriate locations on the 3.1 mac pro thus having immediate access to all of my calendars, contacts and notes in order to sync/upload their new phone with ios fresh install it. I have some info in contacts, notes and calendar for the new mac pro communities, but don't mind deleting all the old mac pro news. So, I'm looking most of convemient and precisely to transfer such info from old mac pro to new mac pro to have available for my new phone.

Sorry for the long question, but I try to be as complete as possible in order to get the best help possible specific to my question.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello aeohagman,

You might want to try the application MSIBlast from Microsoft, but I can't guarantee it won't do no damage to your operating system.

    There is a link here:

Generally, Windows applications do not respond kindly removed when directories are simply - it is not a specific issue OR, but a general situation of Windows.

    I hope this helps.

  • transfer from old computer to new computer

After buying a new computer, what would be the things that need to be transferred from my old computer to my new computer?

for example, do my emails that I don't want to delete, should be transferred?  What about icons that are stored on my desk?

    photos should be transferred?

the main issue would be, fault must be transferred and what can I still access my new computer without having to transfer?

All this depends on your specific situation.  For example, I use Outlook.com for my e-mail service.  So if I get a new computer or my current computer falls at the bottom of my truck, I don't have to worry: all my email is online and can be accessed on any new computer as soon as I login.

It is also why I store all my important files on OneDrive.com too.  In this way, that I have never actually transfer anything.

Icons stored on your desktop would probably not be able to be transferred directly, you must reinstall the programs on your new computer.

  • Can I restore the backup Windows XP on a new computer with Windows 7 COA and upgrade to Windows 7?

    Original title: upgrade question.

I currently have a PC running XP in a system with an IDE drive. The system has many applications that the company has moved the installation discs, so I need to move the contents of the entire disk to a new system. I was about to do the following:

System backup with a recovery boot disk, in this case a USB.

Restore the entire operating system to a new system that will have a SATA drive in it. The new system will have a COST for Windows 7.

Start the XP and upgrade to Windows 7.

My question is, will it work or the absence of the COA of XP on the new system will prevent me to install?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    The f

Short answer, "no, this will not work."

It is unclear what you mean by 'backup' and 'restore', but it seems that if you are referring to the creation of a disk image or a clone of disk on an external drive and then either restore the image or cloning to the new computer.  Assuming that both of these computers was provided with Windows pre-installed, this process will almost certainly result in a facility that cannot be 'activated '.  In addition, unless the software you use has something like Acronis Universal Restore, restore the image from your old computer to a player in a new computer with a different hardware simply will not work.

In addition, the lack of an XP license is not the issue.  There are several problems with the process you describe, but basically, an "upgrade" from XP to Win 7 requires a "custom installation" which means that applications should be re-installed.

  • Re-install XP Pro on a new computer, my 'old' is dead...

I need to know if I can re - install the copy of XP Pro that I bought my laptop and have re-activated through Microsoft. The original computer I had my XP installed on died.

If your original computer comes with XP was preinstalled and then you most likely have an OEM of XP version.

OEM versions are related to the first computer / motherboard, it is installed on and can not be moved / installed and activated on another computer.

If you have installed a version "Full Retail" of Windows XP, then the answer is Yes you 'can' be able to reinstall it on your new computer. The issue is that most computer manufactures (Dell, HP, Toshiba, Sony, Acer, etc.) is no longer sells model that supports XP (lack of support for Windows XP device drivers). If you build yourself the computer manufactures most of motherboard (ASUS, Gigabyte, etc) still have XP drivers available.
