P2416D: QHD on HDMI on MacBook Pro?

Hello

I'll buy a P2416D to use with the MacBook Pro 13 "(Early 2015) and would like to know if I need only miniDP-to-DP cable, use it at full resolution or HDMI can suffice for that."  I will not ask and just buy the cable, if I come across the post from another user who bought such a monitor and has successfully obtained a resolution of 2560 x 1440 via a HDMI cable on a MBP laptop.

Thanks in advance.

Note that Dell does not test / validated the P2416D on Apple hardware and software =

The P2416D HDMI is version 1.4. You should ask Apple users what HDMI revision is on the MacBook Pro 13 "(Early 2015)." Users of Apple said that most Apple MacBook Pro, AMD port to the DP P2416D in the output port will get 2560 x 1440-60 Hz.

In itself, it supports HDMI 2.0! But apparently some did work with a Thunderbolt/Mini DP adapter HDMI 2.0: CDM HDMI 2.0 cards

  • How can I get multi channel audio via the HDMI port on an early 2015 MacBook Pro?

I try to get the 7.1 audio channels to flow from my MacBook Pro to a cinema set up. The display works fine now I plug the HDMI in however the sound still Mac speakers. I checked the settings and no HDMI output is available. An airtime option is available, but that returns only two channels as a maximum to the receiver. When I go to the configuration of the source on the receiver it receives video at 1080 p 60herts however it is specifically stated No Audio from the Source.

Also, I have connected my iPhone 6 s more using an Apple through the same HDMI cable adapter and it works perfectly. We also use HDMI with our PS4 occasionally and it works perfectly, even with the 3D.

Thus, the MacBook Pro is early 2015 with an i5, the receiver is a Harmon Kardon AVR 2700 (we run 7.1 channels of this) and we are connecting via the HDMI port through a 50 ft HDMI before. The receiver sends the audio to a projector with 1080 p 60 hertz if it changes anything...

Also if it helps the receiver supports dts - hd master audio decoding, Dolby True HD/Digital Plus decoding, HDMI 1.4 (HDMI is compatible 2.0), as well as multi-channel input and PCM and linear PCM.

    I use a "Behringer UCA202' audio device I bought on amazon.com for only $29.

It works very well for the audio 5.1 or 7.2. Works connect optical toslink. Just plug it into a usb port on your Mac and a cable optical toslink to your AV receiver.

My Yahmaha 7.2 audio/video receiver is measuring process the digital signal in THX, DTS, Dolby digital Pro logic, a cinema, etc.

  • MacBook Pro & Samsung Smart TV: could not get the display via HDMI

    Hi Forum members,

I'm not able to get the display of macbook to smart tv via HDMI cable.  Here are some of the conclusions that I have. Can someone please shed some light on this weird question.

MacBook Pro Rentina 13 "El Capitan 10.11.5.

    Samsung Smart TV 48 "UA48J6200

    Crush - HDMI cable.

    -TV says 'No Signal'.

-J' checked the cable is good since I'm able to get my Dell Latitude processors E7450 and controller display.

-Go to Preferences > display. I see no possibility to detect the display etc...

-Able to connect same macbook to the sony smart tv at my friend using the same cable and it's all good.

At this point, I am not able to understand where is the problem... TV or Macbook

    Thank you.

Hmm. Have you tried to get your friend or someone connect to your Samsung Smart TV?  It does seem like your Macbook or the cable are the issue.

Edit: actually re read your post. I think that to see the option detect go to Preferences > poster under view press on and hold down the option key. bottom right, it should appear.

  • need a HDMI cable to connect to the macbook pro via port USB - C

Could someone please indicate what cable or adapter I need to run my MacBook Pro to a TV movies? It connects on the port of lightning or another? Thank you Jude.

No MacBook Pro has lightning ports or ports USB - C.  Most have ports Thunderbolt, and some have even regular HDMI ports.

The adapter you need to depend on the exact model of MacBook Pro you have.

Until we can tell you what cable or adapter you need, you must tell us what model of MacBook Pro you have.

You can watch in the Apple Menu-> about this Mac, option and after the year of model here.

  • Question I look at KODI cable HDMI MacBook Pro 13"

Hello, I have a MacBook Pro 13 inch with the retina display; 2.9 GHz Intel Core i5 processor and an a 6100 Graphics Iris Intel running iOS EL Capitan 10.11.3.

My MBPro has an HDMI port that I'm supposed to be able to connect to and watch on my TV. When I connect the HDMI to the TV, I met a few scenarios.

My desk top appears on the TV (even if it is a modified version of my office, in what most of my icons are not displayed)

I can hear the show on television but not to see the movie on the TV; KODO always plays on the MBPro.

I can watch on my MBPro KODI but I would prefer to watch on the big screen.

    I tried:

    connection cable before I start,

cable connection during execution of KODI

go to System Preferences / display and AirPlay of selection and non-selection and mirrored and I really have no idea if anything else that I can solve this problem.

    Help, please.

With the connected HDMI, available to the default view will be a desktop for your Mac and one for the TV.

You can drag the window from application KODO to the TV screen to see her there. See System Preferences > monitors > Arrangement to see where the TV is set, probably to the right of the screen of the Mac. You can also drag TV to a favorite place there too.

Alternatively, if you select mirror display in System Preferences > displays both screens will display the same content.

  • MacBook pro at 1920px external monitor via hdmi?

I just got MacBook pro 13-inch retina and the default resolution is 1280px in width, and the maximum value is 1600px.

If I connect the laptop to an external monitor via HMDI 1920px resolution, the resolution will actually be 1920, max mobile as 1600?

You can set the external display to the monitor native resolution or HDMI resolution according to your preference.

Don't use mirror display on external monitor because when you mirror on the screen display resolution is also in reverse. Use extended display mode.

I want to connect a 2011 macbook pro to a lg 22m47vq monitor. Have the choice of hdmi or dvi - d, but what cable do you advise me to connect to the macbook pro?

    Thank you

A mini displayport > HDMI adopter will offer audio too but sometimes a HDMI connection does not get good output video.

Better for the video's mini displayport > DVI adopter.

Curs mini displayport in Thunderbolt of the Mac port
