P900 + Win8.1Pro + RAID0 HDD Password = stride S3 problem

After that my system wakes up from a sleep of S3, one of the password protected SATA drives is not correctly be unlocked. It is the setting of a RAID0 (on-board controller), so therefore the RAID itself is blocked.

I am trying to unlock the drive through the Intel RST business tool, but I always get the message "incorrect password". Yes, I'm sure I typed the password correctly. I know that in the past, the BIOS passwords are not case sensitive, so I tried with a lowercase version of the my password - also did not work.

If I restart the system after the S3 stride, BIOS asks me the password from the drive. Thus, it is actually locked. If I enter the password, the machine turns to a start-up without problem.

I tried to run the BIOS mode OS Optimized Defaults, but it did not help. In this mode, when I restart after a wake of S3, I get a message failed RAID volume. Then the BIOS asks for the password and will to start normally.

My other readers, including a SSD m2 on a Flex adapter and a PCI-e SSDS are working very well. It's the only one (and the same) the two SATA SSD from the RAID volume that remains locked.

My configuration:

  • 80 a BIOS version
  • 2 x Samsung 850 EVO in RAID0
  • 1 x Intel 750 Series on a PCI-e slot (which, incidentally is invisible in the BIOS!)
  • 1 x Samsung 850Pro (startup disk)
  • 1 x Samsung 850Pro, a Flex adapter. With this one the BIOS sees there is something plugged but don't watch the brand / model of the player. In the trunk, order is just said "Mezz. "adapter:
  • Intel RST - e Toolbox ver 4.3.0.1542 (later I could find)
  • Intel SSD PCI - e driver version 1.1.0.1004

Absolutely, I can't tell if it's a problem of BIOS or a bug in the operating system. Both the HARD drive passwords and sleep mode S3 are important to me, so I would really like this to work.

  • Can satellite A100-999 - I recover the HDD password?

    Hi all

I had a virus, so I formatted my computer, a Satellite A100-999. After I did, I was going to install Windows Vista, but I never could, because they ask my HDD password and I don't know what password it is that, I don't see it anywhere. My computer has been installed in the store, I only have a bootable disc, they gave me.

My question is: How can I recover my HDD password? Is it possible? I can boot the system in any other way?

    Thank you!

    Sara

  • Inspiron 3650 comes with Win10PRO. What is the procedure to downgrade rights WITHOUT having to purchase a new license of Win8.1pro?

    Hello

just bought 4 3650's with preinstalled Win10pro inspiron. For enterprise applications, I need to win8.1pro must be installed on the machines. Microsoft (and Dell) claim the right to downgrade grnat to the pro version of Win10 to Win8.1 pro (what I need)

Is there someone who has the correct procedure to do? I called dell and Microsoft every day without success :-(

    Concerning

Well, I followed the method of downgrade described by Philip Yip and during the telephone conversation with Microsoft active rep my new installation of Windows 8.1 pro.
Here's what you need to do:
1 extract you Windows 10 Pro BIOS key using produkey-64. Write it down.
    2. go to the Microsoft web site to create a true Windows 8.1 Pro installation support: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8?wa=wsignin1.0
    3. do a clean install of Windows 8.1 Pro using the generic key mentioned above in the post by Philip Yip
    4. Alick to activate Windows, and then select telephone Activation
    5. call using the number displayed in the activate dialog box
    6. Microsoft representative say that ' you have Windows 10 Pro and you want to run your downgrade rights to Windows 8.1 Pro»
    7. they will ask you your key Windows 10 Pro to make sure it is valid and will confirm that you have the right to downgrade
    8. after that, they could connect to another representative - repeat what you mentioned in step 6
    9. they will ask you installation ID
    10. after that they'll ask you which key you used - tell them generic key
    11. Finally in my case instead of telling me the activation ID - they gave me a new product key for Windows 8.1 Pro who, after entering got my Pro 8.1 active Windows.
Maybe in your case - they will give you an activation code.

In any case - it's fully working method.

  • Defective Portege R700M - BIOS & HDD password reset

    Hello

My Portege R700M stopped working after I hit the top. Service center had rejected citing 'Mother, damaged card', the laptop has been installed for the protection of the BIOS for the HARD drive password.

Even if the hard drive is intact, I am not able to recover the data through the BIOS password protection. will be able to help me to unlock the password of Toshiba.

    Concerning

I guess that the motherboard is faulty and will be replaced. I assume that HDD is OK so I think that your original HARD drive will be used again. After the replacement of the motherboard you n t has more need BIOS password. New motherboard will be more determined by BIOS password.

At least explain the situation and Toshiba technicians will explain to you how it works.

  • Tecra M5 requires more EasyGuard HDD password

    Hi all

I was a complete key and changed some BIOS settings, specific WOL on my laptop. Now, when I try to start I get is more asked for the password (the blue screen with * etc.) but rather a message saying "error loading operating system".

I've tried everything I can think of, but it seems that EasyGuard a death/disabled the startup HARD disk or has infact wiped.

I just tried booting from the XP CD to see if the partitions are intact - I can see two with [Unknown] where it should say NTFS... clearly something to do with the encryption of disk HARD/safety...

Help, please! A quick response would be fantastic!

Did you change or remove the password of HDD in BIOS?

Maybe try to reset the BIOS defaults.

Or how can I use a password protected HDD?

From time to time, I can read this question here in the forum and so you can find the answer here already.

However, a HARD drive password can t be deleted. If you n t know the password for the HARD drive you need to replace the HARD drive and no one can remove this password.

Sorry, but that's the absolute truth.

  • Transfer WIN8.1PRO OS between HHD and SSD

The WIN8.1 OS is installed on the HARD drive of 3T to my new HP EnvyPhoenix 810 - DT 330qe (m/n J6N61AV #ABA.) I bought a 250 GB Samsung SSD and want to install the operating system and the programs frequently used on it for quick IOPS / s. The RecoveryMedia is on another partition on the HARD drive.

    Hello

    You must

    • clone the existing content of the current HDD to the SSD,
    • Remove the existing HARD drive and install the SSD as drive elementary start (you caddy and support for the SSD because it's smaller),.
    • You can erase the HARD drive and install it as a second HARD drive (if your machine has enough space).

The main task is cloning. You can use commercial software or free software to clone:

  • WIN8: backup program and password at startup

I have a brand new model Pavilion Sleekbook 14-b013cl running under 64-bit Windows 8. Two questions:

    (1) Win7 was a program of restoration that could create a disk image with full backup, but Win8 seems to have just a file by file backup system that excludes the files of the OS. A more capable backup program comes on this computer?

    (2) I have configured the computer to not require a password at startup, but it is still asking one. When I start I see a screen with the date and time - I have to click on it and then the machine asks me a password. How can I go directly to the home screen when I start?

    Your welcome,

I don't think that you must earn 8 Pro to save to an external drive.

I suggest opening a new thread with this question, which gives a better chance to see and to be able to give more information about the HP Experts.
