  • Eliminating the top padding of a Div tag

    I'm going to build my first website, and I want to use a div to hold all my information.  At the top of my site, I want to use a graphic banner; However, I note that there is little space between the upper edge of the div and the chart.  I tried to get into the CSS rule definition to set the padding of the DIV 0, but that doesn't seem to help.  I have also created a rule for the banner itself and set the padding and margin to zero, but it also does nothing.  Out of curiosity sake, I tried the same thing with a line of text, and it worked without any problem.  So my question is, if you use an image how to eliminate the space between the image and the upper edge of the div?

    Also, my margins of the div are set to auto, so I don't know if that would be detrimental to all.

    Try using a negative margin-top value for the div.

  • Sidebar has even when padding padding set to 0

    Hi, I hope you can help me with a problem I have create my site:

    I created a two-column Web page using a Dreamweaver template, with a sidebar and main content to create two columns.

    He looks at just how I want it, except that, in the sidebar (which is wedged right) < p > text or header, does not start on the left edge of the Sidebar container. It is as if he is padding the text when I put the padding 0.

    Please could someone help me work on what I did wrong? Here's the source code, with CSS below:

    / * Tips for Elastic layouts

    1. Since the elastic layouts overall size is based on the user's default font size, they are more unpredictable. Used correctly, they are also more accessible for those who need larger fonts given the length of the line remains proportionate.

    2. sizing of the divs in this provision are based on 100% font size in the body element. If you decrease the overall size of the text by using a font size: 80% on the body element or the #container, remember that the complete provision will reduce proportionally. You can increase the widths of the divs to compensate for this.

    3. If the sizing of fonts is changed in different quantities on each div instead of on the overall design (ie: #sidebar1 is a font size of 70% and #mainContent has a font size of 85%), this will change proportionally each of the overall size of divs. You can adjust the base on your final sizing of fonts.

    / * Sidebar1″ tips:

    1 be aware that if you set a value for the font size on this div, the width of the div will be adjusted accordingly.

    2. as we work in ems, it is preferable not to use the filling in the sidebar itself. It will be added to the width for browsers compatible standards creating a real unknown width.

    3. the space between the wall of the div and the items it contains can be created by placing a margin left and right on these items as seen in the rule ".twoColElsLtHdr #sidebar1 p.

    / * MainContent tips:

    1. If you give this div #mainContent a value of different size of the div # sidebar1″, the margins of the #mainContent div will be based on the font size and the width of the div #sidebar1 depend on the size of the font. You can adjust the values of these divs.

    2. the space between the mainContent and sidebar1″ is created with the left on the mainContent div margin regardless of how content div the sidebar1″ contains, the space of the columns will remain. You can remove the left margin if you want the #mainContent div text to fill the space of #sidebar1 when the content of #sidebar1 is complete.

    3. to avoid falling of float, you may have to test to determine the size of the image/approximate maximum element because this provision is based on the calibration of fonts the user combined with the values that you set. However, if the user has their browser game lower than normal font size, less space will be available in the #mainContent div that you see on the test.

    4. in the Internet Explorer conditional comment below, the zoom property is used to give the mainContent "hasLayout". This avoids several specific IE bugs that may occur.

    Hello
    I own the Sidewinder X 6 keyboard and the latest version of MS Center of mouse and keyboard on win7 64-bit.

    I am trying to create a specific application profile using the detachable keyboard as a macro-pad.
    When I click on 'activate' in the menu "enable macropad" under "basic settings", the orange keyboard instead of red lights and the function of macro as macro keys (S13 - S30) keys.

    However, when I go into the menu application and assign macros for S13 - S30 and start this keyboard App turns red again and works as a normal keyboard rather than the macro defined keys.
    It's not bad on which of the 3 banks, I attribute the macro.

    Does anyone have a solution?
    I need the keyboard while under windows, as well as the macro key only when I play this game.

    Thank you.

  • Compression setting specific to the image when you export to PDF

    I have a document with about 15 images 48pp some files .ai, .psd files and .tiff files placed in it.

    Is it possible that I can use jpeg compression on all images except one where I want to ZIP compress to keep all the details in an image of the card which is placed as a .psd ATM? The only thing I can think is to export all the separate bits in the form of files tiff/jpeg card images and select no compression in the export dialog, this reduces the flexibility in the production phase and is a chore, I prefer to be without future workflows.

    Not at once. You can first export all the pages with a standard compression and then a page with different settings and later merge/replace in Acrobat.

  • BG img to fill a nested div container, but skip a parent padding

    If I have a div container with padding set up so that the text remains in a specific width ESP... and then I have another div to call a background as a class picture.

    Thank you!

    You can't, unless you use absolute positioning, you don't want to do.

    Why are you applying not just the background image to the. 'containerParent '.

    ?

    background images are put padding on their parent container, so they'll flush at its edges.

    My favorite method is to put the padding on the children container rather than the container, but objects that arises when the box model used to be a problem where the padding added to the width of the container. Now, if you use css 'box-sizing' attribute that is not necessary.

    The WebObject is named CC_box and inside, there is a div tag with an id of 'text' - this is where the text should go.  The text caption containing the text is named CC_source_1 for the first slide, then CC_source_2 for the next, etc.

    Here is my code:

    var slideNumber = window.cpAPIInterface.getCurrentSlideIndex ();                                Gets the number of the current slide

    var ccText = document.getElementById("CC_source_"_+_slideNumber).textContent;     Retrieves the text of a legend of text on a page in progress - works fine

    $("#CC_box).contents ().find("#text").html (ccText);                                                          This line of code works perfectly in HTML, but not in Captivate

    What is a good way to access this div within the web object of Captivate?

    Thank you!

    Thank you, I'll try that!

    in the meantime I kept trying different things here and found that if I go 'deeper' and call iframe directly as opposed to a container div, everything works, so in this case the following worked:

    $("#myFrame_CC_boxc").contents ().find("#text").html (ccText);

    Interestingly, Captivate attached a 'c' at the end of the name of the div, so even if I named the CC_box of Web object, we call it actually CC_boxc if you look in the DOM Explorer

  • creating a linked css that affects several Div in the HTML

    I create a css file to attach several html documents.

    within these HTML is a set of regions Ap Div with the text of the hyperlink in them.

    in the css style box, they are named

    #apBttnAbout

    #apBttnAbout:hover

    #apBttnContact

    #apBttnContact:hover

    I took the apBttnContact: hover # (has a colored background) and turned it into: hover so that it would affect all the #apBttn.

    but he ended up making all my Ap Div regions including my #mainLayout

    Basically, how to create a style #apBttn:hover can I use it for everything with the beginiing #apBttn title?

    In this example, you will find that links are exacerbated specific divs that are nested inside other DIV tags This allows you to have a particular style applied to a specific area without applying it to the entire site. Obviously, you'll need to set up a div for outerWrapper, one for contentWrapper and leftColumn1 to work. So what happens, it's whenever you create a href in the leftColumn1 div, the style is automatically added. If you did not compose as I showed, and then links the entire site would be affected by this css. The following creates a red box with white text, which when twitch, it turns into a grey area. Basically you take control of the

    #outerWrapper #contentWrapper #leftColumn1 a {}

    background-color: #c6402f;
    padding: 3px;
    Width: 50px;
    color: #FFF;
    make-weight: bold;
    text-decoration: none;

    }

    #outerWrapper #contentWrapper #leftColumn1 a: hover {}

    background-color: #666;
    }
    These are the classes that you apply manually (note the point before link3px) but once applied they are controlled by these few lines of css code.
    .link3px a {}
    background-color: #c6402f;
    padding: 3px;
    Width: 50px;
    color: #FFF;
    make-weight: bold;
    }
    .link3px a: hover {}
    background-color: #666;
    }
    Simple!
  • How to set up a chart and store data points in a table to allow me to do the analysis with him

    Hello

    I am relatively inexperienced, with the help of labview and I try to do the following with the help of an oscilloscope Tektronix TDS 2001 C but have no idea how start.

    (1) load a previously saved regarding the volts/div and setting s/div on oscilloscope

    (2) pass everything that appears on the o-scope on my computer screen

    (3) save the data table so that I can do a scan with it

    I watched some of the diagrams of block of example provided with the driver I downloaded for this particular unit but am still very confused.  Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Hello Chron0,

    I know I guess a little here, but have you downloaded a specific device of ni.com/idnet driver?  This is a good place to find the built-in drivers for third-party devices, and there is one for this particular model.  That being said, when I looked at the examples in the downloaded zip file, I saw a couple of predefined options that look like they should satisfy question #2 of your project based on the method to use to acquire a waveform (permanently, several waveforms, etc.).  Similarly, in the Public folder is a configuration of channel VI which I think should satisfy what you are wanting to do to the #1 question.

    Depending on what you are willing to do data analysis, with regard to the software used, functions, etc., there are several reporting tools in LabVIEW which will allow you to save the table and manipulate later. A good place to begin with, it will be to search for "File i/o" in the search bar helps LabVIEW and select the option under the heading "Palette."  There are several options here that I think might be useful, including writing in the file.vi worksheet.

    It will be also good to be familiar with the Finder example OR in LabVIEW.  There are examples of spreadsheets / saving data, as well as VISA, which you can do some reading on, because the interface VISA, it's how you communicate with this device (Fortunately, the driver already download it!)

    Good luck to go ahead and keep us informed here on your project!

  • How to position the two buttons at the top of the div inside a container div element?

    Hello!

    Good news...

    I created my very first thumbnail slider for my site that actually works!

    Bad news...

    The buttons that allow to scroll the div element, which is encapsulated in a container of Center, are are more placed on top of the div.

    Here's the html code:

    < div id = "centerContainer" >

    < div id = "aemcSlider" >

    < ul >

    < li >

    "< a class ="aemcPkgBut"href =" "target =" "alt ="AEMC Packaging"title ="AEMC Packaging"> < / has >

    < /li >

    < li >

    "< a class ="aemcGroundFlexBut"href =" "target =" "alt ="GroundFlexAd"title ="GroundFlex Ad"> < / a >

    < li >

    "< a class ="aemcMetrixBut"href =" "target =" "alt ="Metrix Announces"title ="Metrix Announces"> < / has >

    < / div >

    Here's the CSS:

    Key container:

    #centerContainer

    {width: 800px; margin: 0 auto; background-color: #0e210e; position: relative}

    Div element:

    #aemcSlider

    {

    text-align: center;

    padding-right: 0px;

    padding-bottom: 0px;

    padding-left: 0px;

    top: 67px;

    position: relative;

    overflow: hidden;

    }

    #aemcSlider a {margin right:-12px ;}}

    Left and right buttons:

    a.arrowLeft

    {

    Width: 29px;

    height: 96px;

    float: left;

    position: absolute;

    margin: 0 auto;

    display: block;

    background-image: url (.. / Images/arrowLeft.png);

    background-repeat: no-repeat;

    left: 311px;

    top: 91px;

    opacity: 0;

    }

    a.arrowLeft:hover

    {

    background-image: url (.. / Images/arrowLeft.png);

    opacity: 0.5;

    }

    a.arrowRight

    {

    Width: 29px;

    height: 96px;

    position: absolute;

    float: right;

    margin: 0 auto;

    display: block;

    background-image: url (.. / Images/arrowRight.png);

    background-repeat: no-repeat;

    opacity: 0;

    left: 720px;

    top: 92px;

    }

    a.arrowRight:hover

    {

    background-image: url (.. / Images/arrowRight.png);

    opacity: 0.5;

    }

    Here are the things I did to solve problems:

    If I set the div as a container for absolute, the left button disappears.

    I get the same effect when I change the relative position.

    I tried to change the position of relative to the two buttons.

    I also tried to position the buttons outside the div hand and no go.

    How can I position the relative div under these controller button?

    Any help would be appreciated muchly.

    I don't see a slider.  The code of your slide seems to have a style inline with the width: 0px which is not normal.    Width should be about 400 px.

    I suspect that your arrows need a much z-index superior to appear on the top layers of cursor.  But that's just a guess because I don't see a slider.

  • A &lt; div &gt; internal control the outer margin &lt; div &gt;

    Hello.

    I can't understand it. Seen on one of my headers, then he reproduced with model < div > two very simple.

    1. small div is put in a larger div at the top in the middle (centered with margin-left / right: auto etc.) come into contact with the two upper borders div. two

    2. Add "margin-top: 5%" in the INNER exception div and it is not to separate the external div, but rather the two divs down 5%.

    3. add padding 1px to the larger div and the "margin-top: 5%" works very well.

    Why set a div style internal affect the style of an outer div?

    Here is the code:

    <! DOCTYPE html >
    "< html xmlns ="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">".
    < head >

    < style >

    .parent {}
    height: 200px;
    Width: 400 PX;
    background-color: green;

    padding: 0px ;}

    . Happy {}
    height: 100px;
    Width: 100px;
    background-color: yellow;
    margin-left: auto;
    margin-right: auto;
    margin-top: 5%; }
    < / style >
    < / head >

    < body >
    < div class = "parent" >
    < div class = "content" >
    < / div >
    < / div >

    < / body >
    < / html >

    Add overflow: hidden as in

    .parent {}

    height: 200px;

    Width: 400 PX;

    background-color: green;

    padding: 0px;

    overflow: hidden;

    }

  • &lt; Div &gt; or do not &lt; div &gt;

    OK, another question from newbie.

    I do much better with the positioning of the understanding and can, more or less, get exactly what I want.

    One thing I found is that, if:

    a. take an 'element' (text, image, table, < div >, etc.) and put it in a < div > tag

    b. adjust the size of the < div > tag to the 'element ',.

    c. set the < div > class in the < style > section

    It is much easier to move things on a page.

    A quick survey:

    1 - is the way you do?

    2 are there specific elements that you ALWAYS put in a < div > tag?

    3. are there certain things that you NEVER put in a < div > tag?

    4. are there other ways to 'control' the elements and their placement?

    Again, thank you very much for your time.

    I just control the positioning of elements using margin or margin inside css and very very occasionally absolute positioning.

    Its not necessary use for still a

    to control the positioning of an element. I would not insert a title tag or content or an image, as in this example only to position them, in their own :

    header

    A text goes here

    When you can do this:

    header

    A text goes here

    Elements can be moved in position using css without the need to have a

    wrapped around them.

  • &lt; Div &gt; dynamically size?

    Hello ~

    I have a CSS-based navigation bar that is populated from a database. Right now, I'm hard code the width of each button (with a 1-image as a repeating background) in the CSS file, but I was wondering if anyone had any idea how set the width of the div for each button based on how many links are in the database? For example, the container div is 710 pixels wide and now I have 6 tags div that contains a nav button and the link, but each of them is hard-coded to be 116 pixels wide. If I change the number of links in the database, I have to change the CSS as well. I would like to find a way around it! Thanks for your suggestions!

    KC

    Your request for nav items will be a recordcount so there is your total. If you like all the buttons that are equal in size

    (710 being the width of the container)

    So, if you had 10 links, they each be large 71px.

    You may need to use the CEILING or ROUND to get an integer as the value, searching for those too if necessary...

    In your CSS for the div are buttons set a default width or leave blank (should auto size to the content in this way). Then on the page that actually generates the menu nav it;

    * assuming that the button nav div is called "myButton".

    So, adding an attribute to the myButton DIV you in CSS.

    Remember, however, if you have a padding on the div buttons you will need a more complex equation to extapolate the actual width of the button. For example, if you have a 5px padding on the left and right - which is 10px that you do not get to use inside the 71px!

    Good luck, hope this helps.

  • Design repetitive floating boxes (divs)

    I'm designing a page that is essentially 2 columns (not equal to the size) and 6 rows (same size) and do it with CSS (without using a table). I do this by making a series of floating div tags. so I've actually end with 12 boxes on the page. Since a specific div usable only once on a page, do I have to make each box separately and name it something different. Looks like a long way to do things so I wonder if I am missing as an easier method to duplicate boxes. Thank you.

    Here are the first two boxes:

    To clarify - define a class and use it to EACH box with the same
    Properties.
