  These issues in the past have been resolved with BIOS update. I therefore recommend as a first step of the BIOS update.
  Check the current version on your laptop and the most recent proposed on the Toshiba download page.

  To be honest I don't understand why you waited so long on this subject. Laptop warranty valid and the nearest Toshiba authorized maintainer can help you about this.

  From my point of view, there are two possible malfunctions: either there is a problem with the software that you use or the internal keyboard works badly simply and in this case, the replacement of keyboard will solve the problem.

  Thank you for your message.  Microsoft was right to put you in touch with the manufacturer of your.  The keyboard will fall under the material, so only they can fix or diagnose what the problem.  It could be something as simple as a bad supply or burnt cable bulb.  Anyway, that falls under HP support.

  You say that when you press the NUM LOCK key, the Numlock State does not change (if enabled to disabled and vice versa)?  Have you tried to unplug the keyboard and by ensuring that the keyboard of the laptop does not have enabled Numlock?  If so, turn it off on the laptop keyboard and reinsert the another keyboard and see if the problem is resolved.

  Whenever I use the "caps lock" key, a pop up box appears at the bottom right of my screen and I can not continue typing until the box lowers, which always takes at least a total of five seconds.  This creates an intolerable interruption by typing.  How can I get rid of this pop up box?

  Without knowing what the pop-up box, it is difficult to provide targeted - suggestions, but here are two that might help account given what you have provided.

  Do you know when this problem started?  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.

  Maybe that's a problem with the keyboard driver, software, or firmware.  Go to the Device Manager by going to start / find and type Device Manager and enter and then double-click on the program icon that appears.  Check each device to a red x, yellow! or white?  These identify devices with problems probably (drivers, but also of conflict or something else).  Click on each for more details and troubleshooting tips.  If you need to get the drivers, software or firmware (and you need to do for the keyboard), get the computer dealer or the manufacturer of the device (NOT of Microsoft Updates).  In fact, you must disable automatic updates in Windows Update driver as follows: http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-disable-automatic-driver-installation-in-windows-vista/.   I understand that you have found some suggestions on editing the registry - they aren't so bad. If you don't want to download all of the files that allow you to disable the LOCKING of the capital LETTERS, you can create it by yourself:

  1. Press the Windows key + R > type notepad , and then press enter
  2. Paste to Notepad:
     

     Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

     [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout]
     "Scancode Map" = hex: 00, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00, 02, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00, 3A, 00, 00, 00, 00, 00

  3. File > record under...
     • Select to Save as: all files
     • Enter the file name : disable_caps_lock.reg
     • Click Save
  4. Right-click on the created file > merge
  5. Restart your system

  In case you want to turn CAPS LOCK on again, you must remove this registry entry, so you must do the following:

  1. Press the Windows key + R > type regedit and press enter
  2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout
  3. Right click on the Card of Scancode > delete
  4. Restart your system

  I guess that it is perhaps the only way to turn off the CAPS LOCK.

  In case you still don't want to do this, Windows 7 offers something different to disable the LOCKING of the upper CASE. You can turn the ToggleKeys, then you will hear a beep when you press CAPS LOCK. To do this follow these steps:

  1. Press Start > Control Panel > access > easy access Center > make the keyboard easier to use
  2. Check the box to enable the ToggleKeys
