  I was told that I need a GPS receiver to use my palm Treo 700 p with Sprint by Navteq navigation. What does exactly. I am told that the 700 does not have an internal receiver so I need an external. Help.

  Hello PSandlin162 and welcome to the forums of Palm.

  I don't remember ever having the ability to use Navteq on my Sprint Treo 700 p.  (I bought it the day of its launch and Navteq may not available at this time).

  That said, you are right, there is no internal GPS receiver in the Treo 700 p or Treo 755 p.  To work around this problem, I bought a kit GPS Bluetooth Palm.  You can find the current model in the "Accessories" section of the Palm online store.  If you want to use this option, I highly recommend that you update your Treo 700 p to the latest version of softare available, which should be Treo700p - 1.10 - SPNT.

  Type in the upper left corner of the home screen for the menus. You should get 'App' and 'Option '.  On the list of applications, you should see delete, transmit, send, etc. Press DELETE. This should bring up the apps on the HH. Locate the application you want to remove, then press it to select the application, and then press delete at the bottom of the screen. This will remove the app you want to delete.

  Try this and see if it will work.

• Impossible to eReader on Palm Treo 700 p

  I downloaded the new version of eReader to my computer.  When I tried to hotsync software, it won't let me save the software on my handheld.  Instead, I have to save to my expansion card.  Then hotsync when completed, I got an error about the hotsync on my card.  I need to remove the old version of ereader that is on my Treo before I can synchronize to the top of the new version?

  Download the software directly on my Treo using the internet on your handheld?  Or I need to hotsync it toward the top of my computer?

  What format is the downloaded file?  It is a compressed (.zip) file?

  I do not understand why you can not install the program on your phone - only reason to force a file on the card is if it is not a prc or pdb file.

  Make sure that you have unpacked the file, if it is a zip or exe file.

  I have a problem with Chinese characters in a Unicode application.
  
  I am trying to export data from a Unicode application using the maxl script syntax:
  EXPORT of DATABASE ' ' Sales. " To the SERVER HELP fichier_journal sales 'Backup' OF DATA_FILE 'D:\Backup.txt ';
  
  1. I have run this MaxL script using the MaxL editor in the Administration Console. It returns the data with members in the Chinese characters correctly.
  2. I call this MaxL script from a script of commands using ESSMSH 'D:\Backup.mxl '. It returns the data but members in Chinese character is displayed as? instead of Chinese characters.
  
  I need this MaxL script to run in a batch script and I need the text file must be loaded in a cube later. But because the Chinese character is displayed as?, it will return the error when loading data.
  How to solve this problem?

  Not that I have ever done this (English and Dutch use the same character, and that's the limit of my languages), but by the Tech Ref:

  MaxL Shell is in UTF8 mode when a script with the header bytes UTF8 processing.

• Tecra HDD crash - how to retrieve some important data?

  It is a follow-up question to my last question answered successfully.
  My Tecra 60 GB HDD has stopped working and I would like to get a few days of emails etc if possible.
  The Tecra default Mode options without failure, once launched, returns via a BSOD no matter what the safe mode option is taken.

  I have:
  checked in the BIOS - it is considered as here.
  run SEATOOLs for Dos and it says that there is a flaw on short and long tests
  the HARD drive via a box connected USB to my other PC and finally it say that there is an input/OUTPUT error.
  Ran CHKDSK through my CD of XP and after 26%, he says there are one or more unrecoverable errors.

  Also, I tried an old HDD that is functioning normally in the Tecra.

  Any help would be appreciated

  It seems that the HARD drive is damaged and in most cases, the data could not be retrieved on the usual way.
  Of course, there are various services of data recovery, but they charge between 500 and 1000 to try to save the disaster either logic or mechanical data.

  There are also different tools that could be useful as RecoverMyFiles of GetData, Ontrack EasyRecovery DataRecovery or Data Rescue II of Prosoft, but you have to pay for all these professional applications

  Attach your vmdk on a virtual Windows machine and use robocopy.

  If the two machine Windows are in the same domain, you will have no problem with permissions and attributes.

• Calendar Sync worked by a times bad on my Treo 700 p.

  I had to do a hard reset on my Palm Treo 700 p and after resynchronization to my desktop with MS Outlook, it put all my appointments in calendar one hour sooner than they are supposed to be a comment in brackets indicating (12 pm PDT).
