  I have a T5 Tungstun which I hot sync with the Palm Desktop software. I would get the Palm Treo 700wx smartphone. However, I noticed that the Treo 700wx uses Windows Mobile OS and my T5 uses Palm OS

  I then HotSync Treo 700wx with Palm Desktop or I must get all my Palm desktop data into Outlook.

  Hello.. Welcome to the forums of Palm.  The 700wx is indeed windows mobile and will only synchronize with outlook.  It is possible to synchronize your T5 to outlook or you can go to http://www.chapura.com/pocketcopy.php and buy copy of pocket which automatically switch you data from palm desktop to outlook.  Then you 700wx would be able to synchronize data.

• MP3 player on Verizon Palm Treo 755 p

  I use an unlocked Palm Treo 755 p (Verizon version) as a PDA only. No phone. No internet. But I like to listen to mp3 files using a stereo headset. I searched for a regular headset adapter or even a special helmet with a phone jack to adapt the 755 p. When the music plays I can hear it through two external loudspeaker or the earpiece of the phone.

  I was told that even with a helmet, I wouldn't be able to listen to MP3s in stereo because Verizon requires that I have to buy a special application on their part. Anyone know if this is true?

  Someone can help me with information on the requirements for Verizon or how the Treo 755 p works with headphones?

  The 755 p comes with Pocket Tunes already installed.

  Try Radio Shack for a headset or an adapter for your dear ordinary.  Or go with something like these from here in the Palm store.

  I have a new Vista 64 bit operating system and I'm having problems that everyone else is still.  Can't hotsync using the cable.  I bought the dongle bluetooth (Kensington) that many have said works.  My phone recognizes the PC.  My instructions on the phone that warm using bluetooth synchronization tells me to set up a virtual serial port.  The instructions are not very clear.  This is where it falls apart for me.  Can someone explain how to configure this virtual serial port?  Thank you.

  Well, I'm pleased to announce a successful solution.  On the recommendation of some other son that I left and piece and ioGear GBU321 Bluetooth USB key and Setup was a snap and it works (although SLOOOWLY compared to a connection cable, a while and plug your treo during your first sync).

  To setup you do the following (and this can also work for your Kensington):

  • Insert the driver CD
  • Insert the dongle when asked.
  • Install the drivers
  • Pair your device.  Basically, go to the configuration Bluetooth on the Palm screen and select "Trusted Devices".  You will find the bluetooth adapter, select it, and then the Palm or PC will provide or ask a pairing code.  The instructions will guide you through, but basically, you'll want to make sure that the same numbers are registered on both screens (this prevents you from accidentally pairing with some random near the computer)
  • This will actually set up your virtual port for you.
  • You can go to the hotsync Manager and click on "serial" and select the port created in the pairing process.
  • If you don't know which port has been created "Control Panels" and select "Phone and Modem" (assuming that you are in "Classic view").
  • Click on the modem tag and you will see something like 'Standard Modem over Bluetooth link' and next to that it will be the assigned port.

  I hope this helps.  I know that I was relieved not to have to trash my Palm or my PC (although when the Pre or iPhone with a physical keyboard comes out all bets are open)

• VZW 1.24 update for Treo 700WX (Verizon) LOCKED PHONE!

  I ATTEMPT to install the update 1.24 (Verizon) on my Treo 700WX. However, the update got to halfway through and then locked the phone (not saying no USB connection).  I followed the instructions (disconnect USB, unplug the power, soft reboot phone, etc...) and now the phone is STUCK on the opening screen of TREO with a "3.01" (without the quotes) at the top and NOT sync, turn off, TURN OFF, reset or anything like that.  Tried HARD reboot, NOTHING.  HELP * phone is DEAD!

  If you are still in the first year contact Verizon, otherwise contact Palm smart phone support. The unit must be repaired or replaced.

  755 p owners - the Palm Treo Pro has the same schedule as the Palm Treo 755 p? In addition, what is to love in your opinion on the Treo Pro?

  The Treo Pro is a Windows Mobile OS phone - as the 700wx you previously owned (although a slightly newer version of Windows Mobile).

  It doesn't have the same schedule, or it will use Palm Desktop.

  I have never owned one personally, if I'm afraid, I can't offer a first hand experience with it.

• BlackBerry Smartphone Sync Palm Treo 755 p with BlackBerry Storm

  I was unable to sync my BB Storm with the data on my Palm Treo 755 p.  I use the BB desktop software - the two devices are connected to the PC via the USB ports.  I click on the device switch Wizard and follow the prompts.  However, the screen with the option buttons to select Palm or Microsoft is off and light gray.  I am unable to make a selection.   It may be important to note that I don't use Palm desktop.  My Palm Treo is set to synchronize with our database of the main company Act.  I appreciate your thoughts and the entrance.

  I want to free up space on my phone and archive data of 4 year calendar and want to keep the past 2 years (2008 to present on my phone).  Is there a way to set a range of import or export?

  I had a Treo 700wx.  I used Microsoft Outlook to synchronize my treo.  So I just hooked to the storm and said Desktop Manager to synchronize with Outlook.  All my contacts, calendar, tasks and memos were transferred easily.

  Recently, I upgraded my Treo 700wx at the exit of the 1.24 firmware for Verizon Wireless. In the process, I lost the bluetooth pairing with my Motorola IHF1000 that was active before the upgrade. I was able to pair the phone with a handsfree Acura and my Lenovo computer system - I have questions only with the IHF1000 Motorola.

  The phone sees the hands of peripheral free Motorola during the match but when I enter the access code (1234), the synchronization fails.

  You will not be able to reinstall the patch because the unit will return with an error message saying that it is already installed. It is indeed good to do a hard reset after an update anyway. I really hope it solves your problems, and I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

  I was told that I need a GPS receiver to use my palm Treo 700 p with Sprint by Navteq navigation. What does exactly. I am told that the 700 does not have an internal receiver so I need an external. Help.

  Hello PSandlin162 and welcome to the forums of Palm.

  I don't remember ever having the ability to use Navteq on my Sprint Treo 700 p.  (I bought it the day of its launch and Navteq may not available at this time).

  That said, you are right, there is no internal GPS receiver in the Treo 700 p or Treo 755 p.  To work around this problem, I bought a kit GPS Bluetooth Palm.  You can find the current model in the "Accessories" section of the Palm online store.  If you want to use this option, I highly recommend that you update your Treo 700 p to the latest version of softare available, which should be Treo700p - 1.10 - SPNT.

  I have a Palm Treo Pro 850 running WM 6.1 has been used for several years now and love it. It has recently crashed and I had to do a full memory cleaning.   So I found a palm treo 300 in a thrift store and bought for like $ 7. After popping open the case and hanging on to an old charger electric razor, got to work. I installed the synchronization program on my computer, put everything in place and works. I just realized something. I have absolutely no use for this device. Is this what can I do with it? Can I install games or something? If I could do something, like tetris, or anything else, it would be a pure gift for my nephew. Or should I throw this in a shoebox for another 10 years?
