  I recently updated a program that I use on my desktop and sync with my Palm Zire 71. To get the new update on my Palm, I tried to use Palm quick install.   Recently I bought laptop with windows vista on it. My other computer has windows xp. I would like to transfer files from windows xp to vista, when I do I can't open it. I also get e-mails that have excel (xls) files attached and I am unable to open them, can anyone advise? Thank you for taking the time to read this.

  You have installed MS Works. This is not the same thing as MS Excel.
  I didn t try to open excel with MS works files, but it seems that it s is not possible!
  The excel files must be saved in Microsoft Works format, if you want to open with work!

  Install Excel if you want to open and use files other people Excel.

  My Dell laptop is quite old and SLOW but effective. I bought a new Toshiba Windows 7 laptop, and they had ideally made available a kit to transfer all the data from the old computer again. For windows USB transfer cable. Well, I loaded the CD and he always tells me that the compputers cannot read each other, to load the CD on my old computer. I'm on the flat. Called their tech support was a joke. Thought it would be so simple and now I want my $30 money back and may need to use the thumb or the CD burning command to transfer files.

  Perhaps you use a defective cable, and also a standard USB cable cannot be used to transfer files and settings between computers.

  Windows Vista is not supported with CF 7. You have three options:
  -Try the CF 8 'Scorpio' beta from http://labs.adobe.com/
  -use a database that works with the driver of JDBC Type 4 over TCP/IP
  -use a supported operating system

  Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
