  Virtual memory is used only when your physical memory has been exhausted.  This happens usually either when you have not restarted recently, or when you have too many programs running at the same time.  I suggest you reboot at least once a week and if it continues to happen, a purchase more RAM.

• I am running Windows XP. My Media Player will not work with the .flv extensions. I downloaded many of them and would like to play them.

  Someone suggest a solution (i.e. Download Media Player update, patch,... etc.)?

  My recommendation is to download/install the free 'VLC Media Player"software.  My experience is that it will play everything will not be Windows Media Player and much more.  It manages files .flv without problem and there is no file to mess with.

  They don't all have the same characteristics.  Thus, for example, if you want oil Pinter or Mini Bridge it DO not in 2014 and 2014 CC CC new features are not in CC.  The correct answer depends on the user. They can co exist.  I have CS2, CS6, CC and CC2014 currently installed.

  They are small pop up windows. When I start to enter key words to search for, very often these things pop up and not a single one. A lot of them. Popping each other on the other on the other. • XP unknown files consumed 71%, 52 GB of my hard drive. How can I get rid of them.

  Last month, my hard drive is full of unknown files. The magnitude became visible when I ran WinDirStat.

  I reduced the space allocated for the restore system to the basket and 2% to 2% Points. No significant impact.

  I stopped and restarted the system restore. No significant impact. I turned it then turn back.

  I ran MS cleaning disk before and after the change of the other Options to remove all but the most recent System Restore Point. No significant impact.

  I ran Auslogics Disk Defragmenter that revealed the paths, sizes and file names. I am unable to make a copy of the list, but it contains a ton of files, many of them up to + 400 MB. The following selection all have paths that include "SystemRestore".

  This is unusual.

  Files, and system restore points are all contained in the "hidden doubling: directory
  C:\System Volume Information\_restore {}...-
  None of the paths include the text "SystemRestore".

  Access to this directory is strictly limited by default and "WinDirStat" cannot be used to watch this directory without help.

  To completely remove your restore points and start over with a new restore point, simply turn off System Restore and then turn it back on...

  My guess is that the files that you see are not system restore area and are completely useless.  If these files are all under a common directory, try to rename this directory to something different and restart your machine.  If your machine continues to run well, then these files probably aren't necessary and can be deleted.  If your system does not work well, you should be able to start safe mode and rename the directory back.

  I am an instructor and I have files for each student on a USB key.  All students access the drive to retrieve documents of their particular issue.  But on the times, they looked to a file of classmates to access information.  What I want to do is to put a security code on each folder of the student so that other students can not access.  I wish that every student after I allocate a security PIN to be the only person to access their folder.  This way I can ensure that the work is not copied other files of the student.

  I have 20 cases of student on the USB which is placed in the main computer of teachers and students access this USB to various computer stations.  This is why every student should have their own PIN access to their records.
  How can I place a safety / protection of the privacy of the PINS to each file?
  Each PIN title must be different for each folder - specific student?
  If it can be done, how can I remove the safety PIN at the end of the training to allow easier access for me, the trainer?

  It is a simple thing to do with the NTFS of Windows permissions, it will not be protected by Word, but if only the person who owns the folder is granted permissions to this topic, others will not be able to access the folder, they will get and error message access is denied when you try to access it.  You, as an administrator, can grant you permissions to all folders and rule on them all.

  As for giving "scare tactic" your students a little more credit, today young people are not so gullible, many of them are quite savvy and they know their way around computers, some of them have already got you scope out and they know you are trying to give them some BS. It won't be long until they say everyone!

  My operating system is vista Home premium, but I realized it lacked the themes except the classic windows theme. How can I get these themes in return?

  There is no separate download for the themes that come with Vista.  If they are missing, the only way to recover is to do a repair/system upgrade using the Windows Vista Installation disc authentic (you own or that you can borrow from someone).  Here is the procedure: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-vista.html.  Although this will not affect your data, settings or programs, you should always back up your data before you start just be on the safe side. You can have a lot of updates to re - install (including all you need to remove service packs).  If the version of the system came with SP1 or SP2 preinstalled and the disc is an earlier version, then you will need to make a record of slipstream as follows: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/151606-vista-sp1-slipstream-installation-dvd.html.

• After awhile, the aero theme runs with a lot of delay and low fps

  I noticed this problem for some time now. My Office is many running themes aero after awhile. Normally, it feels like running on a smooth surface, 50 to 60 images per second. But after a few minutes, all of a sudden its down to 10 or 15 fps , which is almost unusable.

  Workaround so far is to disable aero theme by switching on the Windows basic theme and then back to Aero. But within 5 minutes, its back to the drawing board. Because the whole "of the drawing Office" fps is reduced, using programs such as Firefox or Premiere Pro, Photoshop or even a video player is a pain. However when I run a video game Crysis etc, the fps is fine and the game takes place as it should. Anyone with the same problem? Any solution?
