  • KB2183461 install not on Windows XP

Update KB2183461 titled 'Cumulative Update for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows XP security systems' will not install on Windows XP Home Edition, Service Pack 3.

Strange, when I try to install it using Windows Update, it says, the installation was successful. Yet it comes again at the next session of the update as an update critical uninstalled.

Then I downloaded KB2183461 from Microsoft Download Center:

    IE8-WindowsXP-KB2183461 - x 86

When I try to install it, it also indicates that it has installed successfully - even if the 'installation' strangely takes little time - but Windows Update claims that it is an uninstalled update.

Of course, I could just hide this update on the Microsoft Update site, but it seems to be a significant update, so I would like to install it, even if I use IE8 quite rarely.

Could you help me to install KB2183461?

    Thank you
    MegaBrutal

[1] then there should be a solution to reset Internet Explorer and Windows, for example a forced installation/uninstallation of IE7/8 or whatever it is accept that would settle it.

[2] I was hiding rather this update, then, I don't even use IE8 on a regular basis. Some sites only require me to use.

[3] Although Windows Update can hide certain critical updates from me, it is a more serious problem.

A1. Unfortunately, WYSIWYG, at least in Windows XP and earlier versions (e.g., Win2K;) WinME; Win98). There is no other resolution other than a clean install.

A2. While you can't depend on IE, your operating system only. If IE is not working properly, Windows is not no more.

A3. Do not install a critical security update is a VERY serious problem. You will not even be able to install the missing updates manually until you've done a clean install.

NB: In its current state, the computer must NOT be connected to the internet or local area network (i.e. other computers).

    Once again, good luck.

  • OfficeJet 5610 install not on Windows 7

Our new Dell Pro Windows 7 64-bit system will not install the all-in-one OfficeJet 5610 printer software.

First attempt of installation since the downloaded software and driver from the HP website.

Second attempt from the CD that we purchased at HP for Windows 7 specifically.

Attempts to start the installation, it passes by the process of extracting the files... and then the installation screens go away and never come back.  There seems to be no kind of progress bar or error messages or the other.

We went through the suggested topics to disable startup programs, TSR, uninstall previous installations etc. but without any help.

I have not tried to install this on another Windows 7 system yet, but it's my other next step in this weird problem.

    Please help this confused soul.

    Thank you

    Kim

    This problem is now solved...

The process of setting was to unplug the USB cable from the printer.

Remove the printer from the list of printers in the printers on Windows 7 and peripheral area

Run the software provided on the CD from HP (probably could use the downloaded files from HP support)

The installation after you select INSTALL from the pop-up window (it will show also read - me, etc...)

The following screen speaks of warnings and you must check the "agree"box to continue

This next page is where I clicked on each of the four options and modifications

The part that shows each item to be installed is the place where I unchecked all except the first checkbox
Make sure that you open and exit of each 4 selections (they take a different color when you do)

Click on the button continue, and this time, you will come to a point where the software finally will ask you to connect the Flash DRIVE to the printer.

Now, rerun the package a 2nd time and a screen will come asking you to install "additional software".

Select each (OCR proper recognition, shop for ink and paper etc...) and let the software run to the finish.

Now restart your system and "solutions" HP center icon should now be on your desktop.

BTW, I tried to use the 'install your printer on Windows 7 Wizard' and the different 8 times, he tried to download 380Mb file, he finished only once.  Other times, he died on the time and amounts by saying that the 'download has been cancelled' Nice a HP... Attach it to a minimum so that we can continue with a download point of failure vs having to start over from the beginning. 8 x 17 minutes is 136 minutes of time lost.

Please mark this as a correction of a problem.

also please email me at {removed personal information} if anyone has questions about this problem.  I'd love to help you.

  • iTunes and up install not on Windows 10?

I had iTunes on my Windows before 10 and I was about to catch a virus so I reset my laptop, not completely, just enough to keep my files and not catch a virus. When I tried to install iTunes 12 and above all it would not work, and I get this error message.

I called Microsoft support and received horrible service and they wanted to charge me $140 or $99.

Of course, I did not take the offer because I won't let them in my computer when they could just tell me what to do to fix.

iTunes 10 installed successfully BUT it doesn't recognize my phone and I can't sync my music which, if it did I wouldn't mind having iTunes 10.7.

The message "an error occurred during the installation of assembly ' Microsoft.VC80.CRT, type ="win32", version ="8.0.50727.6195", publicKeyToken ="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b", processorArchitecture is...» "may occur because a particular library file is not included in the supplied with iTunes distribution package or will not be installed because some unspecified reason. Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC security update before you attempt to reinstall iTunes can help.

  • Flight Simulator 2004 install not on Windows XP

I can't install Flight simulator 2004 on Windows XP. The drive I have is not recognized by the computer.

The disc scratched or damaged? In addition, other drives do not work as expected?

If you can see the disc when it appears in my computer, but the problem is when installing, I would suggest the click with the right button on the drive, click Explore, and the tree of files should open all files on this disk. Drag them to a folder on the desktop and run the installer from there.

  • 10 Windows install not from Windows 7 HP

    Hello everyone.

I am having some problems I'm trying to upgrade to Windows 10 from my Windows 7 laptop.

My upgrade was reservered and was supposed to start install at 11 pm GMT.
There was 1 hour warning message to say that he will start download in an hour.
I let the time pass and it restarted my computer. He then asked me to log in again. A few seconds later Windows Update broke open and said these exact words.

(Header) "Restart your computer to install important updates"
(Main) "Windows cannot update services and important files while the system uses them. Save all the files and restart the computer, and then try to find the new updates."

I restarted 6 times now. And he always says the same thing.
I can see get Windows 10 is still open in the taskbar, but all that is take me to Windows Update.
I downloaded the files Windows 10 Home shortly after I got my copy reservered.
    I can't have it installed!

If someone could help that would be great.
    Thank you.

Please be aware, even if you do not get the Windows 10 app, you can always download Windows 10 as one. ISO file, create a bootable copy and update your system.

See the instructions: How to download official Windows 10 ISO files

    Task of pre-required

When you make significant changes to your computer for example updated operating system, you must always back up. See the links to resources on the backup by clicking the link for each version of Windows you are using: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1

  • No audio output device is installed - not corrupt Windows drivers

Suddenly had a red cross on the audio output and not sound. The thought of hardware problem. Bought basic sound card, drivers installed. The Red Cross again still no sound. Looked on MS answers. Tried all simple suggestions for pilots and others. Downloaded the drivers and install them like crazy.  No change, nothing. Not realized a driver problems. The issue of corruption of Windows. Did a clean install of DVD and voila, the sound is restored with no red cross.  Then tried to update from Windows.old. He successfully achieved and... Red Cross reappears. Now, did a clean install once more and have a machine with its work but not user or data files. Bloody Windows folder; There are 45 485 files in my Windows.old in Windows version (file) and install 45 307 files in my own version of the same file. Somewhere in this huge haystack is the needle that explains why the sound does not work. Damndest thing. For others suffering from the issue of audio, so that many well-meaning folk here have put forward sensible suggestions on the drivers, they are not necessarily the answer. And in fact may just lose a lot of your time.

Anyone with suggestions for the restoration of a more selective way of Windows.old or my last backup (of course without causing corruption..)?

    My machine: 2NKT31AUS of Proc of AMD 64 3500 + BIOS LENOVO Lenovo 3000 J115 73886BG 24/10/2007

    SMBIOS 2.4

    Windows 7 Ultimate 6.1.7600 Build 7600

    Hi SpiritX/Rob,

Thanks, yes I already tried and actually a restore successful from the windows.old folder. Unfortunately, the restoration has also eliminated my audio (and network and probably some other stuff too - another story)!

I myself have reconciled now to live with my own installation, made a new battery of updates from WIndows (about 250 MB worth!) last night and always perfect. Machine has always has audio, still has the networking.

I don't want to treat it as a new machine, just re - install the program I really need/want rather than lots of "stuff" that you think you want or as Apple, Google, Adobe, Microsoft, Sun (Java) manage to drag your defenses.  First installation has been AV (Eset), next installation will be Paragon (for back-up). So my own programs, then the user files.

It would be a very interesting experience to compare the 'pilot' between my windows (clean-install, work) current functional folder and those in the hiearachy of corresponding windows.old. Who'd settle, to some extent, whether the pilots themselves or some other setting in some different files.

Thanks again for your support here, and I love the quote from Mark Twain.

    See you soon

  • Logical journey of the Zoombinis install not on window 8

When I try to install the logical path of the Zoombinis v1.1.0, AutoPlay appears asking to install.  Every time I click that disappears from the box and that's the end of it.  I tried troubleshooting with compatibility and I can always ' seem to encourage them to do something different.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

Please let us know your concern.

It is because of the age games could be 16 bit and if you have Windows 8 x 64-bit, it will not be installed. Please see the link below and check if it helps:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-gaming/i-cannot-get-logical-journey-of-the-Zoombinis-to/057522fe-bcc3-4BCB-83b0-20e9d5bd0392

I would also contact the program vendor or the hardware manufacturer for advice on how to solve the problem. In general, the software vendor's Web site provides a support section that includes additional information about compatibility.
Frequently, the software vendor will be able to resolve the incompatibility issue by providing one of the following resolutions:
o an update to the current version of the program compatible with Windows 8
o a version of the program compatible with Windows 8
o information about any configuration changes to make the program compatible with Windows 8

For more information about your hardware manufacturer, visit the following Web site:

Hope that information helps. Keep us posted if you are having problems with windows in the future. We will be happy to help you.

  • PS CS6 install not on windows 10

    Win 10 x 64.

I also have a perpetual license PS CS6, CC subscription service.  CC has notified me a PS CS6 update that wouldn't not download and install.  Heck, I didn't write the code error, something like UM144.  He wouldn't have my product code.   Who hunted down, followed including PS CS6 uninstall instructions.  I did it and downloaded it again and run the exe, but when concludes there is no message and nothing happens at all.  Research in the downloaded files, I find a Set - up.exe, but it goes back to 2012.  If I don't have that, it says "failed to initialize installer.  Download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem".  This program appears to no longer exist.

So I'm lost.  Can anyone offer advice here?

    Stan

As CS6 is not officially supported with Win10 (and will not be updated), you have found one of the two things that I would suggest to people who have problems

Always use run as administrator and compatibility setting Windows 10 Forums

  • USB device recognized on Windows 7, but not Windows XP

Last week, some of my USB devices need not be recognized on my Windows XP SP3 laptop.

First of all, it happened with 2 external USB HDD connected via a mini USB hub. Connecting them individually did not solve the problem. The error I got was:

USB device not recognized. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has worked and Windows does not recognize.

More importantly, the laptop is no longer recognizing my USB thumb drive, which works perfectly on my Windows 7 machine to work.

Can I reinstall my USB drivers? Just remove the USB devices, reboot and let Windows reinstall them? They need to be specific to the manufacturers of the drivers?

I deleted it and reinstalled my hubs USB Device Manager etc, but a device is not installed correctly: mass storage controller. It is of course preventing me from accessing the USB and external hard drives. Where can I get the drivers for this if Windows XP does not have?
Sure that the key USB is FAT32 (the default format)
I went in the properties of the mass storage controller in the Manager of peripheral and copied the device ID. I did a Google search and was surprised to find that it was a card reader. I downloaded the drivers from my manufacturer Web site, and Windows has detected and installed the drivers for the card reader, as well as the mass storage controller. The USB appears in the Explorer, but shows 0 items. I have
After the reboot, the USB is not in Windows Explorer, and when I unplug and reinsert an error comes up saying the USB device is not recognized and malfunctioned.

The solution was to turn off the laptop, remove the power cable and leave it for a few hours, before feeding it back.

Windows detected and installed the device very well then.

I don't think that I understand perfectly why he fixed.
