PAP pushing against RIM Push

OK so I have read the guide to development of the browser and I noticed that RIM supports push PAP and implementation of the Push RIM. For me, they seem to do the same. The two support Cache, push as well as cancellation and requests by State channel. The only difference I see is that PAP Push uses the XML format isn't the case to push the rim.

Anyone can make comments as to why we have to choose one over the other.

The characteristics are very similar.  It depends especially if you prefer to use HTTP or XML headers when creating the push.

  • Pushing data from a Java application * confused *.

    Hello community,

I'm new to the BlackBerry Push. I tried to understand what options are available to provide data to a Java application and how it can be tested.

There are so many documents on this subject, for example:

    1. Push for the BlackBerry Enterprise Server software
    2. BlackBerry Push service
    3. Push blackBerry SDK service

What I discovered thanks to these documents.

    1. There are two formats that can be used to send data through the BES (PAP push / push RIM)
    2. BlackBerry Push service has two levels (BB push Essentials / BB push more - limited to 8 KB content)
    3. In the Push Service SDK, there are two modes available (public and business mode)

For me, these information are really confusing.

    What I don't understand:

    I. can the software of the BlackBerry Push Service SDK be used for both options 1. & 2. mentioned above? (referring to public and business mode)

II. is there documentation how to push Service SDK can be configured for the mode of the company?

III. when you use BES Push is also limited to 8 KB content size?

IV. is it possible to only a single client application that can be used to BES and BIS push?

    Thanks in advance.

    I. the SDK can be used to push either a BIS or BES. The SDK has a setting to determine if its pressure through the (public) BIS or BES (company). The SDK can be used to push push Essentials or Plush Push. The SDK software uses the API of PAP.

II. I'm not sure of the documentation, but I don't know that the SDK can ask a BES for sure. But in the end, you need to set the PushSDK.properties flag to push public were false.

III. no the BES is not a limitation of 8 k.

IV. I'm not an expert on client applications, but I think you need to develop a version for BIS and a version for BES.

  • Loading paper message

    Hi all

as a few others mentioned here as well, I get the message that I need to load paper when there is paper inside. I took and put the back paper, pressed against the back gently. The sides are pressed against the paper as well.

I turned the printer off and on after 1 minute. Did not help.

Strange thing is, when I turn it on, it gives me an impression on a faulty alignment (with all the colors on this subject). It is therefore able to find the paper at this time.

    My printer is a 8500 more all-in-One.

Suggestions for this problem are welcome!

    Peter,

I used the same code to push that we used on BES5:

    http://bes10one:9080/push?DESTINATION=12345678&PORT=205&REQUESTURI=/

BES 10.1 it's also works against 10.0 BES

I have not tested again using a Pap-push my main concern was to get out the growth of our App Server existing who has been pushed to BES5 and BB Java OS devices using the format of RIM-push.

  • C6180 printer tray repair

    Hello

A heavy book fell off my shelf on the tray of the printer. Plastic cling this part broke. (See the image)

Because the bit that broke was a strain on it, glue did not last very long. Insulation tape has worked but caused the printer to jam more like paper sometimes rubbed against it. I use screws to hold it in place, but it is not the best solution. Is it possible to get and install a new tray to print for relatively not expensive?

Well, I managed to fix it myself, made a better impression in fact platter.

    I have used 2 of these (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Business-Metal-Paper-Binder-Fasteners/dp/B0051SMA54)

    I also used 2 of these (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Black-Slide-Spine-Binders-Binding/dp/B0034TNPAQ/ref=pd_cp_office_3)

with the broken part and bluetack deleted. A link bar is placed at the edge of the bed. (The part of the binder where you normally put at the end of the tray of the printer paper, pushed along until the tray of the printer is more or less central). Then, high-speed steel (lower part) is folded to one side on the other pushed in each side of the connecting bar. The other side is so expanded, outwards. This part is now folded and pushed near the outer edge of the first tie bar. The second link bar (the part that you normally bind the paper with) is praced on the top exposed fasteners, which is binding on the other ends of the clips. The second link bar is located at 90 ° to the first tie bar and whole corrects the tray of the printer. It works much better than the original.

I want to make a card (5 x 7) which means I have to print 10 x 7. I tried to do a custom size by clicking on "without borders"but I still have the white border.» The option without borders works with no custom sizes?

    Hi @mhm45,

Can I have found some information about you on your Deskjet 6988 borderless printing options.

Please NOTE: With all models, print custom page sizes are n ot guaranteed from Windows, it usually ends up being a limitation of the operating system presets. All these settings are error.

I think you're right, it should use an option without border defined by the operating system - but you can review the information provided in the user guide for printing without margins to see if you missed something. PG 59-61.

    This information has been in the User Guide for the Deskjet 6988;

    Print borderless photos

Use printing without margins to print to the edges of some types of paper and printing on a variety of paper-paper photo sizes 3 x 5 inches to a custom photo size 210 x 594 mm (8.5 "x 23.4").

    Guidelines

    ● For high quality results, use a print cartridge photo in combination with the print cartridge three colors.

    ● do not print photos without a border in ink-backup mode. Always have two ink cartridges installed in the printer.

    ● Open the file in a program such as Adobe Photoshop or HP Photosmart software and affect the size of the photo. Make sure that the size matches that of the paper on which you want to print the photo.

    ● If you have installed the HP Photosmart software, you can use it to assemble panoramic digital photos before printing.

    ● For maximum strength, use HP Premium Photo paper.

    ● Check that the photo paper you are using is flat. For more information about the prevention of photo paper to curl, see photo paper storage instructions.

    Hello, HP Support.

I just bought a new HP printer to replace my old HP C4280 printer. Although fine print pages of the letter, I'm struggling to print 4 x 6 photos. Printed images don't print not evenly to the edges of the photo paper. I thought that I put in the incorrect photo paper so I took the photo paper and put it again. Unfortunately, the photos are always printed evenly to the edges.

Here is an image showing the problem:

I also fought with the same problem and noticed that there are not any helpful solution. After an hour of fiddling and realize that many other people have the same problem because of the design of the printer and the inability of technicians to understand the problem, so I decided to share my solution:

    1. first remove the photo tray and paper in the main tray.

    2. now, look at how work the main input tray sliders... To adjust the front and back after installation of the paper to ensure that it feeds correctly. If this is not the case, the document will at an angle and therefore the white frames uneven or break printing. You can see that the paper comes to tilt slightly and with lines

    3. make sure that put you the paper in the main tray outright and that the two blades are aligned with the paper squarely against the back of the tray.

    4. now make the printer alignment. If you have inserted the paper correctly, you will see that patterns of alignment are also directly and have some space before you start, not not against the side of the paper...

    5. now print a photo in the main paper tray A4/letter... If the document has been inserted correctly in the main tray and you have deselected the option border to print full coverage of Letter/A4 plain paper.

    6. once it works, you can introduce the photo tray again and starts the photo printing. They should also print correctly now.

Hope that this help that I was about to box this printer and ship back to HP until I thought the paper was poorly supplied due to a bad main tray hugging design which weighed the alignment of the printer, this stuffing your photo printing as well...

  • synchronization of photoshop with my macbook screen show so it's 100% / size of the document. tried a few things, but bad!

I tried this... Get glimpses of more specific in Photoshop print size

I have an a4 document set to 300 dpi for example... any document size really...

so I tried what is in this article and its does not work...

I worked on my macbook pro 15.4 inch (no retina) a 93.5 ppi

so I place 93.5 in the section unit and rules of prefference, just as she shows in this article... I did so that the graphics processor status is issued

so, I make the changes and still no effect...

and see by reducing the dpi document as it gets close to the actual size, but I should change the document dpi size of course. more will happen if I don't want to use 300 dpi... I don't know if its clear, but I know what is happening there, I think there must be something else that I need to adjust...

If anyone can please help me! I use illustrator as well. Apparently, with which I have for example put an A4 paper sheet against my screen and at the height of the Board a4 graphic on my screen for the piece of paper and note down the zoom level and custom made it... (sounds like something that should be just a few clicks of a button to synchronize my screen with an adobe product... Yet, it is not...)

If someone could walk me through for both would be great.

    Ooooh I've worked on it.

the mistake that I did, well I thought that I had to use the "diagnol' cross measurment screen which was 15.4... so 1440 divided by 15.4 who gave me rounding 93.5.

but in fact, I had to measure horizontally across my screen 13.1 inches and make the sum and it worked!

  • Discover the value of zoom - full size (difference between the Id and AI)

    Hi all

Something that bothers me in CC, which I do not remember in CS4, is that differences in view zoom factor for a 'real size' perceived between Id and Ai.

For example: I'm on a PC with a monitor that is running at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and your screen with a diagonal of 24 ". AI when I hold an A4 paper sheet against the screen and change the view zoom factor, 128% is the zoom level for which a work plan A4 on screen aligns upward with the sample of paper.

However do the same thing with the Id, the zoom factor seen is 96%! ???

Anyone has an idea why this is? I use the same format of document 300 DPI on both. Have no UI scaling applied.

I'm sure that when I was using CS4 this Id was the same 128% like setting.

Would be nice if they were the same.

    Thank you

    Keith

However do the same thing with the Id, the zoom factor seen is 96%! ???

From CS6 100% zoom level is the actual print size, so if you set your rules and inches and the zoom to 100% level a prominent thumb be measured like a thumb. In Photoshop and Illustrator, the 100% zoom level continues to be a 1:1 ratio image pixel screen.

Re: InDesign CS6 for pixel resolution only documents not the same

  • I upgraded to 5.0. The image is now my full screen. To see that the tabs I have open, I have to push my cursor up against the top edge of the screen, where it will appear in the display.

In the improved version, the image of any page Web I'm on fills the entire screen. There is no info either the top of the screen or at the bottom of the screen, just the image of this Web page. If I push the cursor upward against the top of the image, then two nav bars pop open, one with a list of open tabs or windows and the other with a place to type the URL from another site, as well as on the right of the icons for Greasemonkey, etc.. Pushing against the background of the image icon does not produce anything.

F11 activates / deactivates the full-screen mode - turn off.
