Open the window of network preferences, if necessary, by clicking on the padlock icon in the lower left corner and entering your password. Cllck advanced, open the DNS tab and change the addresses of the servers as follows:

    8.8.8.8

    8.8.4.4

It's Google DNS. Click OK, and then apply.

    In Safari, select

▹ Safari preferences... ▹ Confidentiality ▹ Remove All site data

and confirm. If you use another browser, clear the cache memory. Test. Any difference?

    Notes:

    1. If you lose Internet access after the above change is made to your network settings, remove the Google servers in the network preferences pane, then click on the TCP/IP tab, then click on renew the DHCP lease. That should restore the original DNS settings; otherwise restore them yourself. Remember that you must click on apply so that the changes take effect.

    2. I do not use Google DNS myself, but I tested it, and I do not recommend it or any other provider DNS; the addresses of the servers are only available for testing purposes. There may be privacy and technical issues involved in the use of this service, that you should personally study before deciding whether to retain the settings. Other public DNS services exist.

After installing 10.11.5 on my Macbook Pro to the 2015 at the beginning, it hangs on shutdown.  I need to hold the power button to force it to turn it off.  However, at the login screen, the stop button works OK, so the issue may not end the session.

    • The power button if today is no longer the computer turned off. It simply pushes it to sleep/hibernate. If you really want the thing offshore, you must explicitly use the option in the Apple menu.
    • If the computer refuses to go to sleep or a judgment is impaired, there are some tasks/processes that blocks the action. Try to run the activity monitor, in Applications / Utilities, by selecting the energy tab, look in the column preventing sleep.
    • If you need more diagnoses, try downloading and running EtreCheck. It will produce a report that the Mac is up, either use it directly or paste it into this thread for analysis, interpretation and remediation suggestions.

    Thank you.

Yes - I found a post on the HP website - "HP can't stand this product."

This is unfortunate, because I just bought the machine two days ago.  If you are indeed working with where to HP, you can hire a query regarding WHY they sell products that you will not endure.  Needless to say, it will come. Also needless to say, when I looked for a replacement, I don't even consider another HP product.   Who knows if those who are still in charge, even if they are sitting on the shelves in stores.

  • After upgrade to El Capitan Time Machine does not automatically

Recently, I upgraded my Macbook Pro and iMac 24 to El Capitan.  Time Machine does not automatically work on the iMac.   I now use the backup to get a backup to run.  MacBook Pro is very well.

Thinking that this might be the associated time Capsule, I removed the disc from the Capsule and ran Spinrite on it.  Car is very good.  Then I deleted all the files on the Time Capsule and created new Time machine backups on two computers.  No problem, except the iMac not run automatically Time machine.

And yes the selection for Time Machine is configured to run automatically.

A bug in OS X 10.11.1 prevents automatic backups that happens when a desktop Mac (iMac, Mac mini or Mac Pro) is connected to a UPS (UPS) with the USB feature.

Please, back up all data before proceeding.

First, check the App Store for a later update to OS X. If it is available when you read this review, install it and see if the problem is resolved. I speak not beta versions.

Otherwise, you can work around the bug as follows.

These must be run as administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.

Please triple - click anywhere in the line below on this page to select:

sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.TimeMachine RequiresACPower 0

Copy the selected text in the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination.

Launch the Terminal application integrated in one of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first letters of his name in a Spotlight search. Select from the results (it should be at the top).

☞ In the Finder, select go utilities ▹ of menu bar or press the combination of keys shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

Paste in the Terminal window by pressing the command-V key combination. I tested these instructions only with the Safari browser. If you use another browser, you may need to press the return key after pasting. You will be asked for your login password. Nothing displayed when you type. Type carefully, and then press return. If you do not have a password, you will need to configure one before you can run the command. You can get a warning to be careful. Confirm. You don't need to display the warning.

If you see a message that your user name "is not in the sudoers file", then you have not logged as an administrator. Log in as one and start over.

Wait for a new line ending with a dollar sign ($) below what you entered. You can then quit Terminal.

    Restart the computer and test.

  • I've updated to El Capitan and Safari does not work

Hello, I have a 13 inch Macbook Pro, bought in early 2012. I've never updated before until today when I updated to El Capitan. Now, Safari does not. Just, it isn't really access all Web sites (it does from time to time but stall and take forever to load it all) and says that Safari does not and so I have to force quit. I tried to remove all of the plug-ins and extensions, but that didn't fix it. I also just installed the update and that it did not set or the other. I don't know what to do. Chrome works very well. I'm reluctant to delete my browsing history, because there are things in there I need. Who will fix the problem? I just wanted to see if there was an alternative first. Thanks in advance.

Please read this message before doing anything.

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don't be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

    Step 1

The goal of this step is to determine if the problem is localized to your user account.

Select the feedback connections* and log in as a guest. Do not use the Safari connection only 'user comments' created by 'find my Mac '.

While signed in as a guest, you will have access to your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you use them for the first time. Do not be alarmed by this behavior; It's normal. If you need any password or other personal information in order to complete the test, save, print, or write them before you start.

Test while signed in as a guest. Same problem?

After testing, log on to the guest account and in your own account, disable it if you wish. The files that you created in the guest account will be automatically deleted when you log out of it.

    * Note: If you have enabled 'find my Mac' or FileVault, then you cannot activate the guest account. The login 'User comments' created by 'Find my Mac' is not the same. Create a new account to test and delete it, including his home folder, after testing.

    Step 2

The goal of this step is to determine if the problem is caused by changes in the system of third party that load automatically at startup or logon, by a device, by a police conflict or corruption of system files or some system caches.

Please take this step regardless of the results of step 1.

Disconnect all devices wired except those required to test and remove all the expansion cards from secondary market, as appropriate. Start in safe mode and log on to the account of the problem.

Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. Ask for additional instructions.

Safe mode is much slower to boot and run as normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things work at all, including an audio output and a Wi - Fi connection on some models. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.

The login screen is displayed even if you normally connect automatically. You need your password to log on. If you have forgotten the password, you will have to reset it before you begin.

Test in safe mode. Same problem?

After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and make sure you always have the problem. View the results of steps 1 and 2.

  • HP Laserjet 2300: HP Laserjet 2300 does not not with El Capitan

Since the update of OSX El Capitan, my laserjet 2300 does not work properly. I have no problem with my Brother printer, though. It must be something in the driver software. How can I slve; where can I find the updated driver software?

The recent update of the El Capitan 10.11.4 seems to fix the problem. HP Laserjet 2300 works as before! It's a shame, it took this long and caused a load of annoyance with many people!

  • Apple ID does not work on a specific machine

My laptop and my mobile devices accept my Apple ID and password.

Since the installation of El Capitan, the Mac mini does not accept the password Apple ID. It's my only device that has this problem.

I created a second account admin on the Mac mini and tried in vain to connect to iTunes or App Store with the Apple ID and password.

I have a second Apple ID, I used to try to connect to iTunes or App Store, without success.

I have reset the cache of the iTunes Store.

I deleted a few accounts files and tasks.

I mucked in the keychain without really know enough about it (this is the project of reading tonight).

    Any ideas?
