Parameters of DNS in Windows 7

I keep losing my DNS settings in Windows 7 RC.  I did not have this problem in Windows 7 Beta.  I can reset it using the command "netsh int ip reset."  There will be a patch to stop what is happening?  I've seen reports of others having the same problem.

  • Has anyone ever solved the problem of resolution DNS in Windows 8?

I had my first Windows 8 PC (inspirion 660) and had immediately DNS resolution problems.  Updated to 8.1 and still had problems with DNS resolution.  I am connected to the router via an ethernet cable, no wifi.  I have to flushdns every 30 minutes or more often, just to be able to use the internet.  Have searched and tried the answers online and the only one I see that actually worked for everyone must replace the router.  All the other solutions seem to fail.  All my other computers and devices work fine.

There is not a widespread (or even localized, as far as I know) problem with the DNS on Windows 8.  If other devices work fine, but your laptop is affected, then there is a problem with your specific machine or settings.  Have manually set you the IP settings on the PC, including DNS servers?  If so, put everything to DHCP.  If this is not the case, try to define the servers DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.0.0 and see if it works any differently.  If so, it's your router or ISP DNS.  If this isn't the case, then it may be that something went wrong on your computer.  Make sure that all Windows updates are installed and that you have the latest chipset and network drivers and the latest firmware BIOS and NIC.

  • Problems of DNS on Windows 7 ping a host within a child domain

Hi, I have a few interesting problems with windows 7 DNS.

    Here are the details:

Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit computer, joined a Win2k3 AD.
my domain name for example of purposes is called corp.example.info.
I have a child domain: prod.corp.example.info and in this child domain
is a host: 'test '.   COMPLETE the test domain name is: test.prod.corp.example.info.
In this case, 'test' is a CNAME, but the error occurs regardless
    the type of DNS record.

My problem is that if I ping test.prod I get host not found.
If I ping test.prod.corp.example.info, everything works fine.

If I do a nslookup on test.prod, I get the correct results.
If I do a nslookup on test.prod.corp.example.info I get the correct results.
(This tells me that the files work correctly in DNS)

I have no firewall on my Win7 machine, or something funky.

I have other operating systems in the field: machines RHEL4 and RHEL5, WinXP, HP - UX
and each of them can properly resolve "test.prod" correctly. I have not tried on Windows Alaric, as there is no shortage of it here.

There is no entry in my C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file and it is not damaged.

    I tried ipconfig/flushdns / release / renew, /register/ etc. nothing works.

I have an IP address in the DHCP scope for this particular machine,
but the machine receives its IP address from the DHCP server (not sure that it of important, but including at least)

All advanced settings on my Win 7 IPV4 stack corresponding parameters of the functional XP machine.

I made trace wireshark on my machine Win7 and XP machines, and here are my results:

    WinXP:

    (1) client machine sends a query to the DNS server (in this case, my domain controller)
    'test.prod '.
    (2) DNS server returns a "No Such Name" standard query response

    (3) client machine sends a DNS query for "test.prod.corp.example.info."

    (4) DNS server returns a response of standard query with the correct record.

    Win7:

    (1) client machine sends a query to the DNS server (in this case, my domain controller)
    'test.prod '.
    (2) DNS server returns a response of "No Such Name" use query

At this point, the Win7 machine gives up and returns could not find host.
Naturally, I checked my settings advanced IPv4 and verified that they are identical to the work
    XP machine.

Microsoft gurus out there have a preview?

    Thank you!

    John.

  • Problem of DNS in Windows server 2012

    Hi guys,.

I'm a newbie here and I hope to get help with my question.

I have a server DNS (192.168.1.55/24). Everything is already configured, the IP address and host names are already mapped and is already working. Now the problem is... I example. Metro.com, when I'm in the same segment (192.168.1.x 24) I am able to access example.metro.com using only his "example" hostame in run. (windows + R, then \\example). When I ping, he also responds with the correct address w/c IP is 192.168.1.11 being. Now, I have another VLAN in my network is 10.1.1.0/24 and 10.1.2.0/24, these VLANS are able to see the 192.168.1.0/24 because I have a cisco layer 3 switch. When I use the DNS 192.168.1.55 segment both 10.1.1.x and 10.1.2.x, so I am able to still ping example.metro.com and able to access. But what happens is, I'm not able to access using only the host name-example term. Is there something I need to configure on the DNS server to have it working? I might have exhausted all procedures, but still can't make it work, and I'd really appreciate that someone can give me a help and advice.

    Once again...

    1. I'm on the 10.1.1.0/24 network

    2. I use 192.168.1.55 as DNS (which I am able to ping, btw)

    3. it can translate example.metro.com to 192.168.1.11 when I ping.

    4. IM NOT in MEASUREMENT of ACCESS IT USING ONLY \\EXAMPLE term I can when I'm in the same segment as the server DNS 192.168.1.0/24.

    Thank you!!

  • Unable to connect to the Internet - DNS error - Windows 7

    Hello

I have a new (3 months) desktop XPS from Dell with Windows 7 (64-bit), the Motorola SBG6580 Wireless Modem/Gateway and Comcast is my ISP.

My computer is connected to a modem with an Ethernet cable. Nothing unusual in the installation program. I just plugged my PC and it worked.

In the last three months everything worked well. Then all of a sudden, from Friday last I can no longer access the internet.

The connection at the bottom right shows that I'm connected, and every few minutes a yellow exclamation icon above him. Some sites Web opens very, very slowly, some are open to all and another just give a straight error that I'm not connected. It's weird - I can connect to the first seconds when I restart the computer and the speed is extremely fast, and then all of a sudden I can't connect.

When I right click on the connection icon for helps out sometimes it says "The DNS does not" and sometimes he can't detect any problem (but I can still access all Web sites).

Now, I also connected with Ethernet cables to the modem game both consoles and they work very well - I can get online, play games, stream movies etc. My wife and I can also connect our iPhones over Wi - Fi, and I can also connect my laptop running Vista by Wi - Fi.

The problem is just the Windows 7 PC.

I already googled the problem and tried all the solutions offered - I rinsed and renewed the DNS using the commands ipconfig, I put the DNS manually but nothing seems to work!

Could this be a virus any? I have McAfee running and I did a scan, but it does not detect. My feeling is that there is a virus which changes the DNS.

Any suggestion on how I can confirm to you, or what other measures can I take?

    Thank you!

  • Nslookup or DNS in Windows 7 problem

Hi, I ran into the following issue today - I am able to browse the internet normally, however not able to ping a host by name. By address works very well. nslookup is as follows:

    C:\>nslookup localhost
    Server: unknown
    Address: 8.8.8.8

Unknown can't find localhost: no response from Server

If the DNS server is set to dynamic, I have the same problem

    C:\>nslookup localhost
    Server: unknown
    Address: 75.75.75.75

Unknown can't find localhost: no response from Server

To book more strange, the (java) application I'm working on some crashes - JVM crash, with out even throw a SocketException or anything when I try to connect to a socket on VMnet1, 8, or even on localhost, regardless of whether I use an ip address or a host name.

    Thoughts?

  • Problem of DNS in Windows 7 wireless connection

New computer laptop gateway with Windows 7 was to connect to the internet for a month, until a few days ago, when I started to lose the wireless connection often. The only solution was to wait that it will eventually reconnect again. Other computers are connecting wireless with no problems. I get a message that it is a problem of DNS server. He usually tells me that I am connected to the wireless but the connection between the router and the internet is broken. Wired works fine. Suggestions?

    Hi lisina10

You can follow the steps below to check the NIC in Device Manager.
You can check if you have any exclamation point beside the devices listed. If you have, then there is problem with the card is installed.
I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the NIC drivers and check:
    a. click Startand then click Control Panel.
    b. click system and Maintenance, click Systemand then click on Device Manager.
Note If Control Panel is in Classic view, double-click System, and then click Device Manager.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.
    c. in the NIC, expand adapter, right click on the devices listed and then click Uninstall.
    d. When you are prompted to confirm that you want to remove the device, click on OK.
    e. restart the computer.

After the computer restarts, the drivers will be installed automatically. Check after this procedure if you are able to get access to the network.

You can also check the driver through windows updates updates. Check out the link for additional assistance mentioned in the update drivers below:

  • Passing parameters to FMX via windows CMD

    Hi all!

is it possible to run a windows form command line and pass some parameters specific to this form?

    for example,.
    -----
    [START_FORM.bat

    module c:\orawin95\bin\ifrun60.exe = myForm * < pass the syntax of the parameters > * userid=user1/user1_pass@oraInst

    ]
    -----

Next command displaying information about the use of ifrun60 and I think that the passage of parameters to a form is not provided.
    ifrun60?

    Thanx

    Hello

You can pass command line parameters (regardless of the settings you wish to). However, it is useless if you do not have these parameters added to your form. Also, if you do not change the code, then you can't do anything about it either in passing parameters. You will eventually get the parameter does not exist in the form of error.

So the question is, what you're trying to achieve? (And what you want to achieve, you need to touch the source of your form).

  • Toshiba Satellite Pro M50 comaptible - tools for WIndows 7

    Hello world
I own Satellite Pro M50, listed as a model on the official website of Toshiba - drivers and tools provided by Toshiba are only for XP and several of them for Vista.

I installed Windows 7 32 bit and I am very satisfied with the speed of the computer now. Windows 7 was able to detect my devices (screen, usb, wifi, lan) and drivers updated successfully. Everything seems to work OK now.

    Problem is with Toshiba tools.
MasterG (to whom I am very grateful, but I have not found a way how to address him directly) advised another user with the old model (M100-221) to use PPV and Flash Card Utility Support for series L500.
    (for more details: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=57586&tstart=0)

I tried, and the utility of Support Flash Card worked. Now, I can use the Fn key.

There are also a few features Toshiba I would run: Power Saver, utility TouchPad and so on. How could I know what model has tools that could function as a substitute for my only or was it just a coincidence that it worked?

Thank you very much in advance, and greetings to the whole community of toshiba, I'm really pleased with this support forums.

    Bevo

    Hi Ben,

It of Nice to hear that you have successfully install Windows 7 successfully on your Satellite Pro M50 and you also like the forum like me. :)

    What tools you want exactly?
There are a few differences between XP and Windows 7 tools. For example, Power Saver already belongs to a package of added value, and you can find the parameters energy saver in Windows the Windows Management.

The utility of touchpad you can download other laptops. AFAIK driver Synaptics and Alps Electric should work on all models, but you need to test, I n t have Satellite Pro M50.

In addition a list of compatible tools does not for me. Just try it.
Important is that you install Windows 7 versions or at least for Vista. I think that the XP don t work tools.

    Good luck! :)
