parental control - limit games

My son's school is based on the iPad.  That has its advantages but also disadvantages.  As far as I know, when he says that he is doing his homework, he's really playing games.  He also plays games in the classroom as well the teacher back is turned-, games and infinite number of messaging applications that keep being developed.

Is it possible to find and block all applications and games 'hidden' and make it purely a working tool - at least for now?

It uses an iPad Air from 2014.  I want him benefit from all the advantages, but to help him control the temptation of all the other things.

Thank you

Remove Games and messaging applications. Then in settings > Restrictions, disable the ability to download apps.

Also, how one prevent images to display? For example, if you type the word "tobacco" in the browser window and click on "images" then many images of tobacco appear.

You can't block images.  If someone types the word "tobacco" in Google, you cannot prevent Google from showing images of tobacco, because it does not part of the safe search filter that blocks explicit (read: adults) images and links.  Just like you can't keep Google return images of snakes, cakes birthday or Volkswagen beetles.  Activate the safe search filter must be done on the Google site itself, in any case.  Who should keep the sprogs to searching for photos of breasts and other terminology of this naughty (for them), but that's all.

To the extent of allowing access to only certain Web sites, do so you in system--> Parental control preferences.  Click on the padlock in the lower corner on the left and enter your administrator password.  On the left side of the pane, select the account that you want to apply Parental controls for.  In the top of the pane, you should see a list of tabs.  One of them is "Web".  Click on it.  There are three levels of browser restriction.  If you want to customize the list of websites, this account users are able to access, click on the Customize button.

A dialog box will be displayed.

In the upper pane, type Web sites you want to only be accessible and in the lower pane, enter the Web site you never want to be accessible.  When you are finished, press OK.  If you need more for the other tabs at the top of the pane, click the padlock in the lower left corner again to lock in your preferences.

  • Cannot limit the use of Minecraft in App Restrictions on parental controls

As most parents know, Minecraft is an app that is very popular with children. Unfortunately, parental control does not appear to offer a way to limit its use subject to restrictions of App.

The app of Minecraft is an executable file that we download mojang, from the developer's site. It runs on Java. So safe family, its use is in the activity tracking > PC activity > Apps and games such as "Java (TM) Platform SE binary."

However, when you look under App restrictions in parental controls, there is no "Java (TM) Platform SE binary."  And, of course, there is nothing for the minecraft.exe file either. He has a record of Java, but it contains only 'Configure Java.'

There is no obvious way to add apps to the list of restrictions of App. The apps are either there already, listed as "apps already installed on these devices that [the child] may use", or else they are not.  If a person consumes the child account on a specific device, the only option presented is to change parental control online settings.

(There is a post related here , but it deals with Windows 7 / 'parental control' and in the end, offers no help, apparently even for Windows 7)

This seems to be a major oversight and negligent by the developers of parental control. I am amazed that they are ignorant of the use by children of Minecraft, or that they are simply not competent enough to create a way to limit the use of the application.

If someone knows a way of parental control allows to limit of Minecraft, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll just assume that developers of parental controls are the boneheads is unresponsive.

  • Allowed in the Parental controls, but Parental control set is still blocking games

I have two games at present which is specifically allowed via the parental control, but when my son tries to read, the parental control blocks.  Both games are Microsoft Age of Empries conquerors 2 and Star Wars Battlefront.  Any help is appreciated.

    Hello

Grant permission to the user account that is used by your son to play games.
Also, make sure that you have not set parental control for applications as well.

  • "parental controls does not allow this game begins" without any restrictions applied

I get the window ' parental control does not this game start "when I try to run a game and all settings are disabled.

    Hello helicopter-Guy,.

Welcome to the Microsoft answers site.

I would like to ask you a few questions in order to get a better understanding of this issue.

    ·         What is the operating system installed on your computer?

    ·         Did you the latest changes on the computer?

    ·         Logged in as the administrator of the computer?

    ·         What game you try play?

You get this error usually when parental control is set by the administrator for your user account.

I suggest that you try to run the game as administrator and check, if you are able to play the game.

Right-click on the game, click Run as administrator.

If the problem persists, then I suggest that you install the game in Vista compatibility mode and check if you are able to play the game.

See the link to run programs in compatibility mode: make sure to run older programs in this version of Windows: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows

  • I Net Nanny parental control installed on my pc and limit myself to give my child access to his Hotmail account to check emails.

    original title: hotmail servers

    Hello

I Net Nanny parental control installed on my pc and limit myself to give my child access to his Hotmail account to check emails.

There is an option in Net Nanny (NN) to allow only Web sites, but I have trouble understanding exactly what servers Hotmail uses to run.

Furthermore, I feel that some server addresses change over time. Is this true? If this is not the case, can you let me know which servers should I use to get a permanent solution for the NN filter.

    Thank you

  • Why does Parental controls let me play my steam game, even if I am registered as an administrator?

I recently bought the Prototype game on steam for $20. But every time I try to play, the Parental control appears with 'You're limited to play a game with these sides' in a windows style window. I tried to go to the games tab in the start menu in order to change the settings (as someone said someone else with a similar problem) but no games are presented, nor is it possible (seems to me) to find a place to remove restrictions. I even tried to change the scoring system it uses (not changed). The only account on my computer is mine and I run it is the administrator account.
Please help me, I don't want to not have lost my $20.

    Hello

    (1) have tried to play the game in administrator mode?
    (2) remember to make changes to the computer before the question?
    (3) how exactly have you changed the odds for this game?

See the steps mentioned below and check if that helps

    Step 1:
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: Don't forget to return the computer to normal after completing the troubleshooting by following step 7 of the above mentioned link.

    Step 2:

I would temporarily disable all security software and check if the problem persists.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats.  In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Note: You should not turn off Windows Firewall unless you have another firewall is enabled. Turning off Windows Firewall may make your computer (and your network, if you have one) more vulnerable to damage caused by worms or hackers.

  • Not able to play the game error parental controls restrict this racing game

Original title: Parental controls restrict this racing game

I can't play a game on my computer.  It is rated E10 +.  Whenever I insert the disc, I get the error message: "Parental controls restrict this racing game."  I use the Vista operating system.  I am also administrator on the computer.  Due to the age of my children, there is no need to implement password protections.  I wasn't aware that there was no set parental controls on my computer.

Just had a conversation with a customer with the same problem.

    Found a solution for this:

  • Parental control of 5 devices limit

I just bought a Linksys E3000 Wireless router.  A driver for this purchase was the parental control as I want to have the devices have bed times not that children or children do not go to bed or the other.  That some of the children have several devices that I have to be able to enforce 802.11 time in bed for more than 5 devices.  Why would limit Cisco?  Is there a way to get around this?  If not, what are the other options out there?

Yes it is. You must implement the Restriction of access to this topic. I'm not sure how to do it in Cisco Connect, but I know how do it manually on the router configuration page. Here is the procedure.

  • Parental control time limit set at 24 hours by mistake... cannot go beyond login.

Original title: restriction set at 24 hours a time... error cannot go beyond login.

We have windows Vista Home Basic.  There are 2 user ID in place, it is not used and nobody remember the password.  Another we know the password. However, my son put the limitation on duration of parental control to 24 hours by chance and we can no longer access the computer.  Whenever we tried to enter, we get the message of time restrictions.  Please let me know how we can get around that we can not get the menu system/controls.

What you wrote is not logical.

As said by Umesh P, moderator, you need an administrator account to set the time limit.
And parental controls can be set on an administrator account.
This means that you must have an admin account, you can log on. If you are the admin or in possession of an admin password.

  • How to hack parental control I can not download no matter what games or anything like that it stinks

so, I want to download games such as combat arms and other things but I can't download combat arms because my parents decided to set parental control if any1 knows how to do that just HELP!

Sorry, man. You must ask your parents. It is not really a way to hack parental controls. But I don't know if you've done your decent business, they might allow you to install one of these games. Doesn't hurt to ask.

  • Parental control minute use!

There a way to set a time limit - for example, 2 hours total in a period of 24 hours for the duration of a child is allowed to use the computer under parental control?

I know I can set the hours of the day - between 09:00 and 20:00 she allowed, but I'd rather have a timer function that would keep track of how many minutes she sat and how she left.  Perhaps, after 1 hour online she would be clocked out and not be able to reconnect to tell another hour.

Our kindle has such a feature in its application of Freetime.  It keeps track of how many minutes each child user has served and lock them when they have reached their minute limit for the day.  He knows the difference between reading and games too and deadlines may be different for each.  I want this feature on my pc!

I'm more concerned about the use of the internet and am currently using Internet Explorer, but I'd be open to switch to Google Chrome or something else if it would be easier.

    Hi timberdoodlejo,

Welcome to the Microsoft community. From your post, it seems you want to have the function of time allocation in the parental control. Please note that time allowance is available for Windows 8. So if you use a PC under Windows 8, you can configure the setting to how many hours your child can use his computer. However, this compensation is no timer but Family Safety will prompt the user if his time is about to end.

For more information about allocation allocation of time, please read the MSFT Rudi R post in this thread. You can also check out the article below on how to use the allocation of time in Windows 8:
