Parental control of 5 devices limit

I just bought a Linksys E3000 Wireless router.  A driver for this purchase was the parental control as I want to have the devices have bed times not that children or children do not go to bed or the other.  That some of the children have several devices that I have to be able to enforce 802.11 time in bed for more than 5 devices.  Why would limit Cisco?  Is there a way to get around this?  If not, what are the other options out there?

Yes it is. You must implement the Restriction of access to this topic. I'm not sure how to do it in Cisco Connect, but I know how do it manually on the router configuration page. Here is the procedure.

  • Specific times on 1200 + ca Parental Controls does not

    Hello

I recently bought from Best Buy a Linksys AC 1200 +. I love the Smart Wifi and remote application access, however, I found that the portion of the precise moments of parent controls doesn't seem to work. I chose the time I want the device to be able to access, but no matter what I do, as long as I have the parental control activated, the devices lose connectivity.  If I change it to never be blocked, it works, or if I change to always block access it works, but no matter which option I choose (white should be allowed and the blue should be blocked - I tried both) does not work.

Any ideas?  I have the latest firmware and I made sure that the device and the router are on the correct time zone and the time has come.

I'm frustrated, but I hope that this community can help!

    Thank you!

  • Cannot limit the use of Minecraft in App Restrictions on parental controls

As most parents know, Minecraft is an app that is very popular with children. Unfortunately, parental control does not appear to offer a way to limit its use subject to restrictions of App.

The app of Minecraft is an executable file that we download mojang, from the developer's site. It runs on Java. So safe family, its use is in the activity tracking > PC activity > Apps and games such as "Java (TM) Platform SE binary."

However, when you look under App restrictions in parental controls, there is no "Java (TM) Platform SE binary."  And, of course, there is nothing for the minecraft.exe file either. He has a record of Java, but it contains only 'Configure Java.'

There is no obvious way to add apps to the list of restrictions of App. The apps are either there already, listed as "apps already installed on these devices that [the child] may use", or else they are not.  If a person consumes the child account on a specific device, the only option presented is to change parental control online settings.

(There is a post related here , but it deals with Windows 7 / 'parental control' and in the end, offers no help, apparently even for Windows 7)

This seems to be a major oversight and negligent by the developers of parental control. I am amazed that they are ignorant of the use by children of Minecraft, or that they are simply not competent enough to create a way to limit the use of the application.

If someone knows a way of parental control allows to limit of Minecraft, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll just assume that developers of parental controls are the boneheads is unresponsive.

    Hello

Please refer to the image below and click on the option last restriction Desktop App. It will give you a list of installed applications. Select the game of Minecraft in the list and check.

What is ID used is independent of the used ID.

Please submit your query. I understand how it was to have this feature in parental control, but currently, we have no option. What we can do is to send this as a feedback through this link so that our product team will be aware of the suggestions of our users of the product.

  • I Net Nanny parental control installed on my pc and limit myself to give my child access to his Hotmail account to check emails.

    original title: hotmail servers

    Hello

I Net Nanny parental control installed on my pc and limit myself to give my child access to his Hotmail account to check emails.

There is an option in Net Nanny (NN) to allow only Web sites, but I have trouble understanding exactly what servers Hotmail uses to run.

Furthermore, I feel that some server addresses change over time. Is this true? If this is not the case, can you let me know which servers should I use to get a permanent solution for the NN filter.

    Thank you

  • device does not appear on the list of devices or parental control - model EA2700

My son's iPod caused the parental conrols system crash. For some reason any his ipod has shown three times on the list of devices. So, I hit the 'X' on the list of devices when it has been disconnected to remove it from the list. Now, I can't it appears below the list of main devices or parental control. I can see the unit if I look under the DMZ/DHCP client table. I can even see it under the access as a guest, but it will not show upward under a regular connection, so I can't control it how do I get it to show up again?

The ipod must log on again, then it should appear.

I usually reserve an ip address for these devices in a dhcp reservation and give it a name in the reserve for the devices shows always like something that I can recognize because it can appear as just "peripheral network' for a name.

  • all Parental control computers appear as 'Network Device'

Hello, I have a Verizon FIOS router that I believe must remain as a router and I have bad wireless coverage in my house. Various articles mentioned that a wireless router can be configured as an access point by turning off the DHCP / NAT and cascade the new router (E4200) in the local network (without using the WAN port). This seems to work very well for the first device, which I have added to the wireless network, but when I went to set up parental controls to restrict access, all devices in the selection box appear as 'Network Device', so you can easily know which devices choose. Is it the way things are if you do not use the software or are - because I use it in a non-standard way? Does anyone know how to have that came with the computer names?

    Thank you

    Al

Parental control is relevant only if the router is used as a router as access point. You may not use the parental controls on the E4200 if you use it as an access point only.

  • Parental control time limit set at 24 hours by mistake... cannot go beyond login.

Original title: restriction set at 24 hours a time... error cannot go beyond login.

We have windows Vista Home Basic.  There are 2 user ID in place, it is not used and nobody remember the password.  Another we know the password. However, my son put the limitation on duration of parental control to 24 hours by chance and we can no longer access the computer.  Whenever we tried to enter, we get the message of time restrictions.  Please let me know how we can get around that we can not get the menu system/controls.

What you wrote is not logical.

As said by Umesh P, moderator, you need an administrator account to set the time limit.
And parental controls can be set on an administrator account.
This means that you must have an admin account, you can log on. If you are the admin or in possession of an admin password.

  • Parental control - limit to some Web sites?

How to configure parental controls so that the user account has access to ONLY certain Web sites?

Also, how one prevent images to display? For example, if you type the word "tobacco" in the browser window and click on "images" then many images of tobacco appear.

You can't block images.  If someone types the word "tobacco" in Google, you cannot prevent Google from showing images of tobacco, because it does not part of the safe search filter that blocks explicit (read: adults) images and links.  Just like you can't keep Google return images of snakes, cakes birthday or Volkswagen beetles.  Activate the safe search filter must be done on the Google site itself, in any case.  Who should keep the sprogs to searching for photos of breasts and other terminology of this naughty (for them), but that's all.

To the extent of allowing access to only certain Web sites, do so you in system--> Parental control preferences.  Click on the padlock in the lower corner on the left and enter your administrator password.  On the left side of the pane, select the account that you want to apply Parental controls for.  In the top of the pane, you should see a list of tabs.  One of them is "Web".  Click on it.  There are three levels of browser restriction.  If you want to customize the list of websites, this account users are able to access, click on the Customize button.

A dialog box will be displayed.

In the upper pane, type Web sites you want to only be accessible and in the lower pane, enter the Web site you never want to be accessible.  When you are finished, press OK.  If you need more for the other tabs at the top of the pane, click the padlock in the lower left corner again to lock in your preferences.

  • Parental Controls + Internet Access Policy 'Add' is shaded on

I need to add several new devices to my "target devices" in the Parental control-Internet access policy and program schedules that devices can get online. But my 'Add' is shaded out and I'm not allowed to add devices. I use the browser to log in to the router.

To manage access to the Internet, you have two methods available, Parental control and Internet access policy. That a method can be used at a time. So my first question which option you are trying to use to block or plan the Internet access?

As the Parental controls can restrict internet access for up to five computers or devices. You can block access to the internet or to limit it to specific times, and you can also block specific Web sites.

So if you have several devices then 5 to add then you should use the political Internet access option.

  • How can I reset an admin password used for Parental control?

6 months ago, I found my daughter was using his mac laptop for reasons of distracting and I decided to install parental control.  I used a password specific to do on his laptop computer.  She has since learned his lesson and now has some access to the school.  I forgot the password.  How can I reset?

    -Jason

Do you mean you forgot all the passwords for administrative accounts for Mac?

All you have to do is to go into System Preferences > Parental controls and click on the padlock in the lower left and admin user and password and then click on the device in the lower left corner and disable Parental control for the selected user

  • I want to look through the history even after it gets deleted for parental control, how to proceed?

I wonder what are the sites my daughter runs after sitting in a corner with the laptop for hours, when asked a simple answer is not available and it's the end of the conversation. I have no doubt about it, I want to know if she is simply wasting time or seriously work and to be cool, although the question is here because the story is always empty...

    Hello

I won't say anything to try to 'spy' on your activities of girls on his device.

If you're worried about what pages it visits and navigate too, it is easier to set up the network to run after devices in the household.

If you chase the laptop to see the navigation history, she finds, it will change just by phone (if it has) instead and lock with pin codes and so on.
It can also easily just be set to private Mode and avoid any local history for you to check.

To configure the network, and the web pages that are available, you will find what your router and as an option, you may be able to use https://www.opendns.com/home-internet-security/parental-controls/

But a better way is to focus and guide internet works and what to stay away from and so on. If it is a matter of concern.

  • OS Firefox has parental controls?

I would buy a Firefox OS device.

However I want to be sure he has the similar to iOS of Apple 7 parental control in which Safari can be disabled or restricted to specific Web sites browsing.

Also the app store can be disabled.

BONES of Firefox is in the early stages of development, lack of many features. It is not stable, so I would look elsewhere.
