  I don't think that there is nothing that makes Microsoft who will do what you want with Windows XP. I prefer Acronis True Image Ghost. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  I copied the folder .thunderbird to another folder on my computer (Ubuntu on Dell Laptop) for backup, when I re-opened Thunderbird my accounts appear missing and it asks if I want to configure e-mail, etc. Then I deleted the file in double .thuderbird, hoping that this would fix it. On opening of Thunderbird, it is always as if it were a new installation - .thunderbird folder and files kept at the original location

  Every Mac should have at least 1 backup HD dedicated. When it comes to backup, it is wise to also have redundant backups because too backups fail! I have 3 Mac (iMac, Mac Mini & MacBook Air), each has 2 HD attached for redundant backups. Although I know that it is more expensive that you wanted to hear, it gives a pretty good backup level. It would be extremely rare to lose the primary storage and two backups, but I lost the primary and a backup at least 2 times!

  In my case, I use Time Machine and SuperDuper as my backup solutions and also to use OWC (www.macsales.com) as my EHD.

  "RECOVERY, DRIVE (d :))" in car is a partition of 2 GB of the hard drive internal, such as configured by Dell, and it is formatted in FAT32.  I tried to reformat the NTFS volume, but were unsuccessful.  I also looked at a certain way to omit this volume, but have still been in vain.

  Do not assign a drive letter to the partition recovery/player. Open "Disk Management" and decommissioning (without drive letter) and backup and restore performance.

  If you mean that you have to keep your Mac connected to a Time Capsule via Ethernet for future backups, then the answer is no. Time Machine and time Capsule are designed to work over wireless for your Mac would just need to be connected to the wireless network provided by the time Capsule.

  Both fresh and freshly, can use as a Time Machine backup HARD drive, although I personally prefer to use newly formatted disk.

  1. Yes, but you shouldn't. Your working data and backups must be on separate drives in case one of them goes down.

• How can I configure my Time Capsule wireless for backups

  I recently changed the ADSL broadband cable. So it took to move my modem to the other side of the room where my cable connection. When I got the computer, modem, ADSL modem and the TC were a few feet from each other. However - now I have a wireless connection between my mac and the gateway Max Telstra modem and works very well. However, the TC has a yellow light hard now and does not connect to the internet. I can't the airport to recognize it as a base station and I think to be able to return to the company the automatic backups, I need to somehow get the TC identified as a base station. Would that be correct? I don't know if the yellow led indicates that the HARD drive in the unit has failed, but I begin to suspect this. Or - should I be plugging the TC on the modem and then try to have the computer to connect with the TC through the other side of the room?

  There are two ways to deal with the problem.

  However, the TC has a yellow light hard now and does not connect to the internet.

  Amber hard... which means no flashing is a very bad sign.

  Do a reset on the TC.

  Start from a factory reset. No files are lost on the drive hard in doing so.

  Turning off the TC... That is, remove the power supply cord or the power at the wall outlet, wait 10 seconds... Hold the reset button... be nice... Turn on always even now in reset... and keep holding in for another 10 seconds. You may need assistance because it is difficult to hold in reset and power on. It will show the success quickly flashing led front. Release reset... and wait a few minutes for the TC to reset and return with the factory settings.   Plug it into the Telstra modem and see if the front LED will turn to blinking orange.

  Another suggestion is to purchase a 2.5 "1 TB or 2 TB drive self-powered. That plug into your iMac and use it for backups... It is faster, cheaper and more reliable than the replacement of the TC.

  My wife and I have several Macs and iPad backup iCloud. Today we have connected and the documents of our Pages are gone — not a few documents, but precious and many lost work. Lost? I visited iCloud.com and searched recoverable documents in the 'Advanced' section to see if the papers were there - they were not. I checked to see if iCloud in 'Settings' with all our devices - it is. Apple said at the time that we shouldn't count on iCloud for backup, because they cannot ensure our documents stored cloud will survive our specific to the device updates? Seriously? So I should relegate all iCloud to toy status devices because they are not reliable for work? Why our unit upgrades would replace somehow data that was stored "safely" remotely?   Apple do not back up user iCloud storage and does not announce that iCloud is a backup service. It is a place of convenience for document sharing between Apple devices only. You alone are responsible for the backup of your files, and which is carried out with an external drive properly size Time machine and, possibly, yet another external drive that you clone your boot drive too.

  You can add another drive to accept backups Time Machine... assuming it is correctly formatted for Mac to Mac OS extended (journaled), but things are not exactly "continue."

  You have not indicated if you intend to add the player to the USB port on the Time Capsule, or connect directly to your computer using USB or FireWire connections. Or the other method works, with the option to connect directly to the computer being the faster connection.

  Once the disc is added, you would go in Time Machine preferences (click the "clock" at the top of the screen on your Mac) to add the disk for Time Machine backups and delete the old Time Capsule disk, since backups will go is no longer this destination.

  Since you have a new drive, Time Machine will do a new full backup of your Mac and then go forward with incremental backups.

What seems to be the problem?

  Click Manage store (settings > iCloud > storage > Storage manage and you see what moves backup iCloud storage.)
