Partition problem
Hi guys, please help.
I installed 10 Home Windows using boot camp today on my Mac with Os X Lion. I put the Windows 200 GB partition. So now in my disk drive HARD are have volume 2 (Mac OS X and BootCamp Windows System)
But now I want another volume (volume 3) for my windows to Windows disk volume.
I already tried windows disk management using shrink volume, but I can't. After shrinking, then when I try to make a new disk unallocated volume, but the pop-up - menu says 'the operation you selected will convert the selected basic disks and dynamic disks. If you convert the dynamic disks, you will not be able to start the operating systems from any volume on the disks (except the current boot volume). Are you sure you want to continue? »
I have no choice, because I don't want to loss my Os x Lion. but I can't do any new Volume.
Guys please help me, what is the best way to do one new a different volume of BootCamp Windows volume?
Thanks and waiting.
Your installation of Windows 10 uses a hybrid MBR, which limits you to EFI, OSX, Recovery HD and Bootcamp/Windows. Repartitioning/resizing is not supported by Apple. You can try third-party tools, but make sure you have very good and reliable backups before you try.
Use an external drive to share files, if it's important.

Installation Partition problem (allocated too expensive for the Service Console?)
Installation Partition problem (allocated too expensive for the Service Console?)
RAID1 (15K 146 GB SAS) on Dell R710 and VMFS is on table EQL.
What I did during the ESX4.1 excavation, it's that I have used ALL the space in 146 GB (mainly for / and / var), after adding this ESX host to vCenter, VC and EQL ASM/VE started to complain about the following points:
1 VC: health check of localstorage warning (only has 245 MB left on 146SAS localstorage)
2 EQL ASM/VE: warning rootFolder folder (due to the above)
I thought that he is authorized to use all the space for / (50 GB) and / var (50 GB) in my case for only 146 GB, I don't think I need to leave any space on the installation disc.
Could someone share some lights here?
Thank you
As you can see SDS use all the SDC VMFS partition space.
This create the alarm.
The thing really confused me why I have to leave a space on the disk at all?
Technically there is no reason to let the space... but also no reason to have a big service console
Usually, you need 10 to 20% free space for each snapshot data store and Exchange files... but in your case, you will not have these files.
If you have any problems, but you receive the alarm until you do not disable them on this specific data store.
PS: I suggest you switch to ESXi, is quite simple and it doesn't have this strange vmdk for the "console".

Seagate drive back up the partition problem
Hello
I have a problem with a Seagate drive on my mac.
The drive is 1 TB and I formatted into 2 partitions: 1 exFat and 1 for Time Machine. All worked fine for the last 2 years, but now when plug the drive into my mac it loads only the partition exFat (I can access the content of it.).
Backup partition isn't appearing any more. I tried to open disk utility, but it won't let me see my discs, while the Seagate is connected. (I thought about it when I unplugged the Seagate drive, everything is back to normal).
If I want to eject the disc it will freeze it and drive the LEDS will not stop fashing until I take out the usb cable.
Experienced this kind of problem? I would be very grateful if you could help me.

When you used the drive the first time, have you installed the utilities supplied on the hard drive?

Impossible to install Bootcamp and partition problem
Hello guys, I really need your help. I can't install Windows more Bootcamp partition.
So I read a lot of articles on the problem of the partition but it seems that I can not solve the problem at all and I think my problem is very critical. Here's how things all turned out badly:
-J' tried to update to OS X version 10.11.5 from the Mac App Store.
-After restart my Macbook, I got the message error "OS X could not be installed on your computer...". ».
-J' tried to find a solution and I found this:https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203482
-J' did what the site Web told me, that I used the disk utility to resize the partition to the Mac (at the time I had Windows 10 Bootcamp on my Mac). So the thing has helped, I was able to update OS X 10.11.5. After that, I had resized the partition of the Mac to its normal size. (I was very careful not to touch anything else like Bootcamp)
' - The day after I restarted my Mac to use Windows, but since the splash screen, I saw only 'Macintosh HD', I booted in OS X and is passed as a parameter to indicate my boot under BOOTCAMP drive, after restarting black screen said: "no boot device... »
-I went on the web and find all the solutions and I formatted the BOOTCAMP partition and deleted all his data, now my Bootcamp Assistant said: "the startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition.". I tried to install Windows 7 on USB, I chose Bootcamp (score 4), but now I have this: "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. the selected disk is a MBR partition table. On EFI systems, windows can be installed on disks GPT THAT MBR cannot support... »
Now I can't find any way to install back my Windows on the partition, I read on the internet that OS X sees that the GPT partition Windows considers MRB. Here are a few photos can help:
My Macbook HDD has 3 parts: Macintosh HD (use for OS X), Bootcamp (used for the installation of Windows) and DATA (use to store large data)
Hi Jason Dang,.
Thank you for using communities of Apple Support. What a great way to try to get this problem resolved on your own! The best resolution would be to format the drive outside the Bootcamp utility. Your drive must be formatted using the recovery partition. Once you format the drive, you will be able to use the wizard Boot Camp re partition and re install Windows. Please try the link below and select "erase a disc and reinstall OS X.

Restore your Mac to factory settings should get your Windows successfully installed.

I want to partition the drive on my iMac, for the first time, so that I can continue to use 10.6.8 on a partition and install 10.7 on the other. I read and read and read the messages that might be relevant here, to the point where I probably confused myself.
I was led to this: http://osxdaily.com/2011/03/12/how-to-install-dual-boot-mac-os-x-10-7-lion-and-1 0-6-snow-leopard / which I found useful, but my problem is that when I open disk utility and click on the Partition, Volume information and System Volume buttons are greyed out. (I can grab the corner of the box and resize it, but I can't do anything with the empty box that results.)
I am aware, from what I read, that things can go wrong in this process and I would like to be as sure as possible that I get this right before you do anything irreversible. Can some kind soul put me in the right direction please?
(If it is relevant my 3.06GHz IntelCore i3 processor and has 500 GB of memory).
Partitioning of a hard disk:
http://www.Kenstone.NET/fcp_homepage/partitioning_tiger.html
To resize or add/delete an existing partition without data loss, you need to use, for example, iPartition:

But first of all it is important that you first save all partitions on a separate volume, any loss of data.

Utility disk partition problem
Problems using the disk utility to change a Partition. My external hard drive is only 1 TB and divided into 3 partitions as shown below. Because more space is needed for the active partition, SuperDuper, thought that I propose 20 additional GB in it from an inactive partition - the 'old' which is gray below G5.
But when I open the disk utility and selected "Old LaCie G5", the Partition tab was greyed (although before I had restarted). So thought I would go first aid on "Old LaCie G5" but I illustrated window, the rotation for a while beach ball, zipper then as indicated.
Well, I need a new, more large drive hard, but was hoping to fix things in this way until I get one. Is this possible? And what to do about first aid/old G5?
Please advise...

External partition problem 'shared storage' AT105
I'm not entirely sure what the problem is exactly, but I can only download and install programs videos on the partition of storage shared my tablet. I have about 2 GB of free space on my internal storage, 3 GB free on my SD card and yet I am limited to the 200 MB of free space f 'shared storage' in settings/applications.
I already tried to switch to Tablet option on all applications, but it shows only 200 MB of total free space of 2.5 GB of shared storage. My question is, how can I get rid of this partition or how can I download on my memory internal or SD card. No matter what I do, everything I download or install is sent to the shared storage. I have a ton of free space that I can not access.
Help, please.

Startup BOOTCAMP partition problems
Hi, I've seen a few posts that are very similar to mine, but I can't seem to get to the bottom of this issue. Here's the background on what happened:
I ran El Capitan on a single OS X partition and decided to run Boot Camp Assistant and install Windows 10 on a new partition. It worked perfectly, and I have been using Windows and start back. So, I decided that I would create a new partition for easy sharing files between the 2 BONES using a Fat-32 file system so that the two operating systems can have read/write access. I did it with the disk sideways utility Mac and everything seemed to go smoothly. Also, I don't touch my BOOTCAMP partition, but took all the space for the new partition on the side Mac. Everything seemed fine... until I tried to start again under BOOTCAMP. Now this partition is not recognized as bootable, but it is accessible from the side Mac and everything seems intact.
I ran the command diskutil list and here is the result:
/ dev/disk0 (internal, physical):
#: NAME SIZE TYPE IDENTIFIER
0: GUID_partition_scheme * GB 500,3 disk0
1: disk0s1 EFI EFI 209.7 MB

My theory was that because the BOOTCAMP partition moved from 4 to 5, this confused sort of things. I decided that I loved not more to have the shared partition, so I erased it. Then I tried to delete this partition, but I am unable to do by using normal mode or recovery disk utility. I tried to disassemble and then delete in both modes. I scoured the internet looking for a solution and I am completely stuck. This seems like it should be a super simple solution, but it is frustrating that I can't understand it. I don't think that I've damaged or corrupted something and I just need to be able to start in Bootcamp.
Help, please!
Thanks in advance!
Still have not solved this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!

S3000-601 HD partitioning problem
Caused by a severe virus due use the product Recovery DVD-ROM to reinstall Windows XP Home Edition. Already had two partitions, one FAT32 for OS and one NTFS for applications. Now that a single primary partition has been created as large as the HD itself. Not establesh another partition, as advised by Windows Help. What should do?
Hello
There are two ways to solve this problem. You can use a tool such as Partition Magic to create a new partition. In this case it is not necessary to reinstall the OS.
Alternatively, you can try to install the OS with RecoveryCD but please use the Expert mode. The way how to do you can find on http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/faq.jsp?service=EU&from=search_service_options&FID = tro00000015a5

Partition problem - cannot remove (or combine)
Fact a clean install of Vista and now my hard drive is partitioned. Now, I have no space on my C drive because there is a partition, and I can't delete the D drive.
When I go back to the computer management, and there are two partitions. It shows now 2 local disks: 'Disk Local (c) which has 281 MB of free space of 6.83 GB' and 'Local disk (d :)) who has 68,89 GB free of 71,15 Go' (also 71 unallocated).
Everything is on the C: which is now complete. I tried to delete the D: by right clicking on the D: but "Delete volume" is grayed out. I tried to remove it to the prompt (doc) that doesn't work anymore.
How can I delete this partition and have my entire hard drive to return?
Help, please!

Above is how you're supposed to do.
We cannot solve the problems that you experience when you use 3rd Party Software like KillDisk.
I suggest that you do a clean install of Vista and use the management tools built-in drive to partiiton the hard drive, if you wish.

I'm trying to remove a partition on a HARD internal disk and place the unused disk space in C: drive. I currently have two partitions C: and D:. The D: partition was initially used for recovery purposes, but is now empty. The problem I have is when I go to disk Management, it's that the partition d: is located to the left of the C: partition (I guess that this was done by the manufacturer. Therefore, even if I delete the partition to the unallocated space, I can't even extend C left since extend cannot be used after the C: partition. I tried to use diskpart.exe, but have had no success with that either. I tried Gparted boot disk for resize/move, but when I try to apply I get an error and nothing happens. Any help would be appreciated.
You will not be able to do it, because the disc was encrypted by OEM making it to prevent the violation of copyright or corruption of files. You will need a third party app to save your data and repartition the entire disk.

but in the meantime, you can simply move your virtual memory, for example file on the d drive.
-
Step 1 - set the current file on drive c to none
step 2 - create/set a file custom Exchange on the d drive and use the recommended settings provided by windows at the bottom of the virtual memory Control Panel.

I know that my windows partition not damaged because I change it and I work on the recovery partition but my widows will not start.
now, I can not access the hp suppurt group, please help and tell me what I can do?
Make a Paragon partition manager boot disk, boot from it and undo the changes to the partition.
or try this
Use F8 to the beginning of the power up when you see the HP splash screen, that you get the advanced screen, select 'repair your computer' and press ENTER, once that loads of Windows recovery environment, select 'repair your computer' once again, if you get a dialog box on it to find problems and you want to repair say no.
Once you get to the screen tools select Startup Repair, see if he can repair windows startup, restart when it is done, see if it will load windows now.

I found my Systm recovery discs original, and system repair disk but they don't work. The system recovery disk using Dell Datasafe. the option chosen is to run it from my hard drive and the computer restarts when you restart the recovery partition, now I be problem with the Boot Manager: "status: 0xc000000f startup selection failed because a device required in the inaccessible" I have no problem starting the C drive.
so I thought I should run a repair on the MBR on the recovery partition, but then I found that the recovery partition is not assigned letter. This means that I can't transfer the missing files or anything. so the main question at the moment is how to name the recovery partition. and all other thoughts of system recovery by giving this error. should I uninstall datasafe and install DBAR? If Yes, do I need to start on an earlier version of DBAR and upgrade? or can I go straight to the latest version?
ladempke,
Click on the link below for more information to solve this issue. Manually reinstall Windows will not install the factory recovery partition.

Hard disk partitioning: problems with Windows 7
I bought a new laptop with a disk drive. So I decided to partition my hard drive to use part of it as a return to the top. However, during the process of return my computer off and when I tried to put it on my Windows 7 operating system will not turn on. I guess that some of the OS files have been corrupted, some how damaged or moved. So, how can I solve this problem and get Windows running again?
Thanks for your help!
