• Passed VCP-310 today... and now?

  Hi all,

  I just passed the VCP-310 today (at the second shot for me) now I think to upgrade my VCP to Vsphere. I know that if I don't take the exam in 2009, I have to follow the course of "what's new". I see that the course can also be self-paced format, I would ask you if this course, after 2009, is ok for the certification.

  The rhythm what's new course is not the same course in the classroom or Live online.

  If expect 2010 before to do anything else, finished the course individualized on top of your VCP3 you will qualify for the VCP4 certification, only courses in the classroom or live - online would do that.

  I took the VCP exam today and passed with an even 300. What happens then? Should I wait for VMware to match my training in my review? Y at - it any action required on my part?

• Passed the VCP-310 today: Challenging to say the least review

  It took me about three months before feeling ready to book an exam with Pearson VIEW. I've never touched a VI3 product before but felt I couldn't miss this certification for my career.

  The VCP - 310 exam is certainly more difficult that we tell CompTIA or Microsoft

  One of the exhibition was not related to the subject of question (done on purpose!) It wasn't a matter of submission that I managed to reproduce the drawing of the part of the question with the stylus provided and wrapped in plastic of paper (the question was linked with the settings of firewall ports and the piece was bound to a schema pie of Resource Pool and actions).

  I was stunned by some of the questions, I even though I spend time first review.

  Review the answers in the end helped me to regain confidence, however.

  The end result is a score of 93%.

  Not only a practical knowledge of the underlying COMPUTER technology is required (Windows, Unix / Linux, Ethernet, TCP/IP, iSCSI SAN, FC, NFS, x 86 server hardware, troubleshooting, database connectivity, backup, high availability, disaster, continuity, permissions / roles...)

  But a basic knowledge of other VMWare products are also required (server, workstation, player, Fusion, ACE, configuration of VMS and gOS...)

  Hands on with the installation and set up Labs definitely helped me to build my confidence.

  My advice is to start studying the tutorials install and configure VMware, and from there find information more specific related to VMware released a PDF file.

• VCP from today - now how make it worth $$$?

  Hi all -

  I passed my VCP today - woohoo!  I have worked with VI3 and unemployed for most of the year and have everything set up, consolidated our Dev Environment, and am doing the same thing to our DR site.

  I told my boss and his boss on the passage of the review and what I came out it was "Good work" - a colleague bought me a Mocha for a reward.  I'm the only person in our society which has been formed on this stuff and only secure Channel (of course).   So, here are my questions: have you found ways to make stand out / make more than $$$ now that you are certified?  Is the only way to make profit VCP is to go elsewhere?  There are part-time positions that would need a PCV?  Thoughts?

  First of all, congratulations. Secondly, did you pay for this yourself, materials or training certification? If the company has paid for it, then it is everything.

• Passed VCP - VTC - VCAP-CIA doing next is useful and appropriate?

  Can I do VCAP-CIA or better VCAP-DCD I'm VCP - VTC already and VCAP-DCA.

  You can also point to the VCAP-CIA (or - CID) and you will have the VCP-Cloud certs as an option of the cross.

• Passed VCP - when what I hear from vmware?

  I did the course of training accelerated in December and passed the exam last week. I have not heard anything from many vmware - no email or anything. After the world of microsoft by e-mail within 24 hours, I'm a little worried. I would be, or does really take this long?

• Question about Certification VCP-410

  Hi all

  Need help and tips from you all. I made a big mistake. I released today to the review of VMware VCP-410 and successful too. But now when I try to participate in mandatory training, I see that at the present time all the institutes offer training Vsphere 5. What can I do now? Do you mean that all my efforts to pass VCP-410 is a waste. Is there anyway / any where in India I can get training for VSphere 4.1 and not me certified.

• VCP - NV grants the status of PCV?

  VCP - NV stayed just some time ago. And since the secure Channel status is a requirement for VCAP, VCP grants pass VCP - NV status?

  Certification support said that passing VCP - NV is not granted the status of VCP. Even now I can't pass the VCAP, since I have no certificate of VCP - NV has any training partners or VMware.

  But the thing is that the formations are marked as non-mandatory, RECOMMENDED for VCAP, and only VCP is a necessary.

  If you don't have VMware training or have already reached Cisco CCNA, then no, passing VCP - NV doesn't make you not certified.

• Confusement of VCP cert requirement

  My apologies for my first post being a little panic confuzzled.

  In fact, I sat the VMware vSphere: install, configure, manage [4.0] courses in January 2010

  Tomorrow I do a What's New (version 5.0) two days on upward

  and with my copy of the Official Guide to the VCP 5 Cerrtification wants to pass VCP 5 exam at the end of February.

  However, one of my friends said that I can't become a VCP 5 that the course I did in 2010 was not the 4.1 one?

  However, the Blue Print says that even if I didn't review for v4 too long I did an internship of 4, I can still do the whats new, review of the v5 v5 and so pick up a cert v5.

  Certifications are specific to the main version, so your combination of training will qualify you for VCP5-DV.

  ICM on 4.0 or 4.1 is eligible for the DV VCP4

  ICM 5.0 or 5.1 qualifies for the DV-VCP5

  ICM on 4.0 or 4.1 and 5.0 or 5.1 WN qualifies for the DV-VCP5

  If you want absolute confirmation, email [email protected] and wait for their response.

• Turning of vcp 410 to vcp (4 + 1) 10

  I'm not in this situation and it is just a general question

  1] I now a vcp 410

  [2] I guess that in one year, vmware will return with the PCC 510

  [3] it is a similar situation, passing VCP 310 at vcp 410

  [4] using the previous example. Inorder to go to SC 510, would a person must follow additional courses or can provide directly to examination of the update?

• VCP and Workstation 6.0 or 6.5?

  Well, I just got my official VCP package today - came about seven weeks after the review is done, so just as expected.  The welcome package says that I am entitled to a free copy of Workstation 6.0.   How do I upgraded to 6.5, or who should have included version?  It is not a good idea to give me a rev version down when the new one has been available for some time now.  Any thoughts?
