passing arguments in the queue

Hello

I'm supposed to generate a hold file, which takes two parameters

1 txt file queue where data stroed

2 where S = S or C space C = Concate (vertical bar) is the value data separator / I'm passing running

the run command is like that.

SQL > @spool.sql data.txt C

I wrote the file spool.sql like this.

--------------------------------------------------

defines a header

Set feedback off;  ect...

coil & 1

v_input varchar2 variable (2);

Start

"If & 2 = s" then

: v_input: =' ';

on the other

: v_input: =' | ' ;

end if;

end;

/

Select empno | : v_input | Ename | : v_input | SAL | : v_input | Emp HireDate;

spool off;

When I run the run command, error, such as.

identifier ' must be declared.

Please suggest me I do any thng wrong here.

I found the problem.

I have to put & apostrophe in 2.

but I'm not really satisfied with the result I want to come...

How can I get the results without display

old value: & 2

new value: the of '

  • Passing arguments to the script

    Hello

    I have created a dialog box load the files in the folder and when I click the button I run another script of command StartScript (...)

    How can I pass arguments to the script (the paths of files)?

    Thank you

    Hey OzShimon,

    As long as you use a tiara predefined global variables (T1, T2,...)  you'd be fine. You can also define user variables (.) SAV files) or even to declare your own global variables with: call GlobalDim ("Myname").

    These variables are not re-initialized until you restart the script engine. So just change 'obj' for T1 your test should work

    ' Dim obj

    Void Button1_EventClick (ByRef This)

    T1 = "Hello World".

    Call ScriptStart("C:\Users\Oz\Desktop\test.vbs")

    End Sub

    * the script code (test.vbs):

    Call MsgBox (T1)

  • How to pass arguments to the SQL Script in command prompt

    I don't know about the ' & nom_de_variable "to request a value in the command line.

    But, how can I pass arguments from the command line for the following script to the command - prompt

    Example:

    ex_proc. SQL

    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE ex_proc (employee_id NUMBE IN)
    IS
    v_emp_id Number (38);
    BEGIN

    v_emp_id: = employe_id;

    UPDATE emp_employee SET sal = 2000 WHERE emp_id = v_emp_id;

    call_ex_proc. SQL

    Appellant for procedure above:

    BEGIN

    ex_proc (100); -The employee id is 100.

    END;
    /

    Here are the General controls that we use to run the scripts above-

    SQL > @ex_proc.sql

    SQL > @call_ex_proc.sql

    But my requirement is to pass the employee id as an argument in the command line as.
    SQL > @call_ex_proc.sql 100

    Is it possible to pass command line arguments?

  • You need to pass arguments to the Sub - VI which runs in parallel to the main vi.

    Please help me.

    I can pass arguments to a subvi using "call-by-reference-node" but the sub - vi will not work in parallel.  I can also run my sub - vi in parallel using "invoke the node", but then cannot pass arguments.  I can't understand how to merge these two concepts.

    When I open the reference VI, I specify the strict type, using call-by-reference-node.  When I use call node, I don't specify the type.  It seems that specifying the type strict guard screw run in parallel, but also seems necessary to pass arguments.

    I apologize for my absence of a deeper understanding of this and appreciate any help you can give me.

    Chris

    You must invoke 'Ctrl Val.Set' node.

  • Why the continuous measurement and Logging in LabVIEW 2012 Project uses strings instead of Enums and orders from the queue?

    Hello!

    I noticed that the continuous measurement and a project in LabVIEW 2012 Logging using chains instead of enums and orders from the queue. I wonder if there is a good reason for it?

    Kind regards

    Anguel

    First, string vs enum debate is probably the version of LabVIEW vim vs emacs. There are good arguments on both sides, and I doubt that there is always a "winner".

    A brief summary of our reasoning for the current state of the project examples:

    1. We used enums for the state machine because it is self-contained. A state machine will never tell himself to enter a State, he does not know. Knowing (as the programmer) all possible States with the help of an enum allows you to enlist the compiler in order to help us avoid mistakes to change the time (because you can't quite out an enum and LabVIEW can be said if you are not covering all cases to a structure of the case, etc..).

      Enums provide greater protection and rigidity by ensuring all withdrew at the time of publishing. This is often the 'default' recommendation that we do.

    2. We used strings for messages in queue manager because the producer of message and the message handler could be independent processes that are reused or traded. Channels avoid the need for the compiler to be able to connect the orders and push this responsibility to the programmer. This allows you to develop some sub-components independently as long as you agree to a series of channel commands that you can manage - you need not to share a file 'messages.ctl' or 'states.ctl '. It is conceivable a loop of message management a message it does not, how you can decide to either silently ignore it or will trigger an error (as we do in the model). The strings make it also easier if you want to swap the queues of LabVIEW outside by a TCP implementation for network vacilitate or intra-Processuse communication where the other end may or may not be written in LabVIEW.

      Channels to provide more flexibility (that is, you can add new commands to an existing via plugins system, you can pass parameters as part of the string, etc.) at the expense of pushing her potential errors at run time and to put more responsibility on the programmer.

    3. The actor's gifts frame a 3rd option - using classes such as messages. For me, it combines many of the advantages of these two enumerations (strictly typed, change errors) and strings (flexible and scalable), but with the disadvantage of being somewhat less transparent (you understand OO, be comfortable to navigate through a multitude of screws, legacy of understanding, etc.).

    I don't know there are other reasons, others to the breast OR had or seen as we validated models and examples of projects in-house, but here are my reasons. We know that we can not design for each situation there - our goal is to get useful models against new users to make them aware of what well thought LabVIEW programs are similar to experienced users know their applications better and I hope they do not hesitate to change what we provide or create their own designs, when they feel it's necessary. (On a side note, please share what you come up with - a community of experts sharing models would be really useful to us all LabVIEW users).

    Best regards

  • M127fw MFP: How to delete the print jobs in the queue?

    When I get an error message when trying to print, I keep trying to print.  This means that I can hit 'print' five times for the same document, because I hit 'print' whenever I think I might finally have something fixed.

    The problem is that HP never forget any of these applications - when it finally starts printing - it always prints every single job - meaning that I get multiple copies of jobs for which I got an error message.

    Where is the interface to view and delete these jobs? I can't find it on the printer itself.  Is there an interface where I can delete jobs in the queue?

    Go to devices and printers and double click on the printer icon. Now click on something like seeing what is printing a list of documents should appear and you can pass by and remove whatever ones you want.

  • Passing a reference to queue as a sequence with LabVIew API parameter

    Hello

    I'm running a sequence of Labview with the entryPoint.Run method.

    Now, I want to pass a reference to queue to TS for use as the parameter for a stage of the action (the action must information sent through this queue). I tried to move the queue as a parameter for the valVariant parameter of the object of Subproperty seuqence.

    LabVIEW throughs 1 error when I try to setValVariant.

    The reason why I want to do it is because I want to integrate the execution of the sequence in my draft framework for an actor.

    Is it better to move the refs to the queue as a reference to be able to send data to an application running?

    Thanks in advance

    Michael

    Hi Michael,

    It is not possible to use references of LabVIEW in TestStand queue, since they do not share the same instance of the application. You can pass a reference to queue as an integer (U32 or I32), but you can not use in TestStand.

    I found 2 ways for you to use:

    You can use the Action engines in LabVIEW to encapsulate the queue. There is some information about this option in this thread:

    Solved: queues of LabVIEW and TestStand - Forums of Discussion - National Instruments
    http://forums.NI.com/T5/LabVIEW/LabVIEW-queues-and-TestStand/TD-p/2554231

    However, with this option, you must make sure that the motor Action shift register leaves no memory

    .

    The recommended practice is to create the queue in TestStand using Synchronization Manager and then open this queue in LabVIEW. An example is available for this option:

    Using queues in LabVIEW - National Instruments TestStand

    I hope this information is useful for you!

  • VISA resources between the loops with the queue

    Hi all

    I am just be familiar with the queues and the producer/consumer model, and I am facing difficulties to pass data between the loops using queues, including data of the type "VISA Resource Name.

    Indeed, it seems impossible to cable "VISA Resource Name" as an entry of the item in the queue, as an output of the Dequeue item.

    These screws can I always try to convert something of this type can accept? Or should I take a different approach and that one?

    Thank you very much for your help.

  • free the memory of the queue after ingesting large paintings on the RT/cRIO

    I'm working on an application, running on a cRIO, which receives files from the network (up to about 7 MB per file) and transfers data to the FPGA that writes to synchronized with an external signal. The files are never written to disk of cRIO, they are streamed directly from memory on a DMA channel. I can receive files faster I have save output digital, so I put the incoming files in a queue. Each file is simply a large array of bytes, and the queue contains arrays of bytes. Whenever I finished it passing an array to output digital, I remove the following.

    My problem is that, in certain situations, I get files enough to fill the cRIO memory, and that memory don't is released because the elements are removed. It is a normal behavior, according to other threads on this forum. However, I can't find a way to force to free this memory and in some cases, prevents me from download files more - I get error 2 ("memory") when I unflatten the TCP entering a table stream. I tried to add code that empty the enqueues empty tables, queue and then removes the empty bays, but apparently not to free the memory. Anyone have any ideas?

    It comes to LabVIEW 2012SP1, running on a cRIO-9076 with VxWorks like operating system.

    The only way I know to free up the memory of the queue is to destroy the queue.  But according to the architecture you, would not be possible.

  • Subgroup of experts can pass events to the top-level event loop?

    I'm working on a VI that may have up to 1000 controls (Yes, she really need that much).  To reduce the size of the user interface and increase the modularity of code, I partitioned design into subgroups that are loaded in tabs.

    Subgroups are responsible for:

    "VI reference to open"--> "invokes the method: Run VI '--> ' invoke the method: Insert VI»

    (Sorry, I don't know how to incorporate images here, yet)

    The upper level has some of its own controls in addition to the case of the Sub-group of experts, and it will be built on the design of producer-consumer model.  The loop of consumer manages the interaction with the hardware (write-only).  Each sub-group of experts will also have its own event loop to manage coordination of the user interface within the Sub-group of experts and also a preprocessing of data that results from the activity of the user within the Sub-group of experts.

    Here's the problem: go in the subgroup of experts, how do I pass an event up to the top-level event loop so that the hardware access request can be entered into the queue of the consumer?

    At first it seems I could solve this problem in two ways:

    (1) rather than to use an Invoke node to insert the Sub-group of experts, is it possible to connect the frame of the Sub-group of experts against a VI that is instantiated in the block diagram?   If there is, I can simply use dataflow to bring jury secondary to the upper level events.   But for now, it seems there is no way to have a subgroup of experts except by using the Invoke node.

    2) there is another way, that we have found, but this is an ugly hack. The reference to the 'Open VI' VI using, I use ' call method: control value: Get.  Gives me the value of a control in the Sub-group of experts, but there is no case of signaling, so I have to resort to polling stations, which slows down the user interface and breaks the model "Event Loop".

    Y at - it of other ideas for how to get events from the Panel under treaty to the next level?

    (of course, this isn't * all * the events we manage.)  The Sub-group of experts will actually a pre-treatment and then send only the selected events to the highest level user-defined)

    Thank you and best regards,

    J.

    I have not used the secondary method before, so I can't save what I think with real experience.

    But,

    If the Subvi who is put in a secondary control on front panel for a queue reference, I think you'd be able to do the Invoke node to set the reference queue control before calling the functioning of the VI.

    The other idea would be do not to have a reference of queue control to pass.  But use named queues and leave the Subvi in high school to create its own queue reference based on the same name that was created in the main VI.  When it ends, it could destroy its unique queue reference and not to force a destroy all and reference to the queue in the main VI would still be a queue works valid waiting for an another sub - VI at the secondary level to generate his reference to the same queue and sends the data in.

  • Prevent the structure elements of the queue of the event?

    Is there a way to prevent a record structure and the queues of the events of the event?

    I have a state machine with a structure of the event in one of the States - the State is waiting for user input before continuing - and I wish that the structure of the event to recognize the events only when the program is in this State. I understand that the current method to catch all events is sometimes (usually) the desired behavior... Heck, I use it to my advantage most of the time. However, this is not one of those times.

    Here is a small example of my configuration:

    (See attachment. I guess that's too big for an extract VI, so it is a standard PNG image)

    The question that I have, is that the Structure of the continuous event of events Records even after pass to the next State. This means that if 'String' is changed at any time, the next time the queue of event happens in the state machine, all updates of the "chain" will run.

    So, how can I implement the code in such a way so that the events will be only intercepted and queue when the structure of event loop is running?

  • Why "limit maximum instances of this event in the queue" in the dialog box change events?

    Why I "would limit the maximum instances of this event in the queue" in the dialog box change events?

    I think that this is new for LV 2014, but I couldn't find an explanation for an instance of good use. A research on OR displays only the 2014 help text, which explains what it does, but not why?

    Does anyone know good arguments to use this option?

    Thanks in advance.

    Justin Tyme

    It is useful for user interface elements that can enqueue actions as quickly as they can be made.

    For example, say it takes takes 1 second to take a picture and save it. The user presses the button "Take a photo", but they do not see a new image file again after a wait of 250 ms (human beings humans can be impatient) so they press twice. Finally, they see a new file image... and then another... and then another... To get rid of this possibility, check this box.

    Or that you have a cursor to adjust some settings. Moving the cursor updates very fast! If the user swipes from 0 to 1 then the program might try to send all the rest as a parameter to your instrument, which takes some time. Instead of sending all of these values, it is probably better if the software can keep up with the cursor and send a value of about 1 at the same time, the cursor said 1. If you do not check this box, the user can be 1, but the unit will continue to receive values from 0.53, 0.54, 0.55...

  • What is a good way to use the queues for the model of consumers/producers?

    Hi all

    I am following the model of consumers/producers to use the queue to synchronize the following process: the producer is a loop to produce a number N, I will put each number generated in a table and after each 5 numbers generated, I put the table in the queue and pass it on to the consumer. I have to wait the use by consumers of the data and it will then remove the item from queue so that producers will have the chance to produce another 5 numbers. As I put the maximum size of the queue one, I expect that the producer and the consumer turns to produce / consume all five numbers and the opportunity to another. Here is my code

    When the checkbox is false, the code will be

    For the first 5 numbers, product will generate every thing right and put it in the table, and it's going to pass the array to the quere so that the consumer will have the chance to loop through the table. I except the procude loop will continue only when the queue is available (i.e. all items are deleted), but it seems that once the consumer starts the loop loop of the product will continue (if the indicator x + 1 and x 2 will be changed to numbers). But this isn't what I want, I know there must be something wrong, but I can't say it is.

    dragondriver wrote:

    As you say in 1, sequency structure to enforce the order of execution, that's why I put it here, in this example, the simple question, I replace the complete code with increase in the number, in the real case, the first markers + 1 and + 2 must be performed in this order.

    Mikeporter says:
    1. get rid of all the structures of the sequence. None of them are nothing but apply a work order which would have been the same without them.

    So even if you delete the sequence structure, there will be a fixed & defined order and it is because LabVIEW follows the MODEL of FLOW OF DATA.

    Data flow model (more precisely in the context of LabVIEW): a block diagram node runs when it receives the required inputs. When a node is running, it produces output data and transmits data to the next node in the path of the data stream. The flow of data on the nodes determines the order of execution of the VIs and functions on the block diagram (click here for reference).

    Now in your code, just remove the sequence structure will not make you order will be going to stay the same, but you need to do some very minor changes (as thread of the error in loop, before that he go to the node "Élément Dequeue").

    Come to the main point: it's a good way to use the queue for the consumer/pmodel that?
    The model you are using (and qualifying as consumer/pmodel) is much too deviated from the original consumer/pmodel which model.

    dragondriver wrote:

    For the second, Yes, it's my fault for delete, though. I'm actually the example of model of producer/consumer design pattern, but I do not pay attention to the while loop in the part of the consumer.

    While loops (two producers & consumers) are the essential part of this architecture and cannot be deleted. You can start your code using standard model.

  • Name of the queues, Instances of the Application, the appellants and this Proxy that I miss read from the help file?

    In a Word, I want to get a few clones of a vi a LabVIEW project reenterant.  Yes, I launch the Clones through CGRA and pass an integer in the clones to implement the queue named ("%d MyClone_")

    "Clones" seem to be the calling project.  The Hieriarchy view displays "Caller Proxy" for example "" MyReenterant.viACBRProxyCaller.<.int> ". And yet, NAMED to clone instances queues seem to have nothing to do with the clone named queues?

    SO how should I name a queue so that it can be passed in a specific clone of a vi that is part of the same project?

    Ah, your problem is that you use option 0 x 40, cloning pool, in addition to 0x80 for your ref VI open.   The reference you get is a reference to the clones, not a specific clone pool.  Thus, the clone of the real start is not the same as the clone that you place in the void Panel.   Change the options of REF VI open to only 0x80.  Then it works because each reference now points to the specific clone.
