Password required to start my Satellite P300

I have a Satellite P300 and when I turn it on it just came with a box saying the password.

Help, please.

Unfortunately, we don t know anything about your laptop.
Do you have BIOS password or you have bought already used and blocked for laptop?

In any case what you are missing is BIOS password. This is the security feature and you can't do anything. It should be removed by the Toshiba service provider.

  • Problems starting with Satellite P300 - 19K

    I have a portable Satellite P300 - 19K 1 month.

Several times since I got it when I booted my system and got the password to logon windows my screen became a series of coloured horizontal lines and the Hung system completely. The only solution was to close by holding power button for 5 seconds. Screen start then on reboot that I would get in the trunk, but that did not work. Then, I learned that if I use the F8 key just I hit the power button I can get into a lot of upgraders and I was able to recover using the restore system but every time I lose a few programs that I need to reinstall.

What has now happened 4 times in a month and becomes boring. I downloaded the latest display driver for the display of my card ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650, but when I went to install it I learned the version I have on board is the same and everything is beautiful.

Someone had something similar or have a solution?

    Hello

If this happens with own pre-installed Vista (factory settings), please contact the nearest service provider and ask for help.
Please do not test with some additional drivers. It WILL work properly with the factory settings.

  • Re: Bios won't start on Satellite P300

Hi, on my Satellite P300 does not start Bios.
How can I restore factory settings?

    Hello

I m afraid. I put t understand what you mean exactly
You are not able to access the BIOS?

You want to reinstall the OS and want to set the laptop to factory settings?

If Yes, then try to boot from the DVD of recovery (if created).
If you have n t try a recovery DVDs start the installation from the HARD disk.
The new laptops HARD drive recovery and you should be able to reinstall the OS by pressing the F8 key-> choosing fix my computer-> Toshiba Recovery

This should launch the installation of the HARD disk

    Check

  • Installation of drive HARD recovery does not start on Satellite P300-150

    I have a 2008 Satellite P300-150 I want to restore factory settings.

I followed the steps described in the manual of s to do it from the hard disk (F8 at startup), however, when I try, a screen will appear with a warning with the topic box"system recovery options"then below says "cannot start the installed program. Click ok to turn off the computer.

I don't know m which is better to do it now if someone could suggest another way to do this, I would be very grateful.

    Thank you

The situation is quite simple to explain. Recovery image installation can be done on two tracks:
-using the HARD drive recovery or
    -using the create recovery DVDs.

I put t know if you created this disk after advice from Toshiba, but if you use for the installation of operating system.

By the way: Satellite P300 works perfectly with Win7 32 bit, so if there is a way to install do. It works much better than original Vista.

If you have any other questions you are welcome. ;)

  • Cannot start the Satellite P300-1FN - nothing happens

    Hi all

I have recently reinstalled windows 7 on my Satellite P300-1FN and after a few minor problems, it was working fine.
I blocked some drivers and updates, then it prompted me to restart.

I turned it off and left while I had lunch, then tried to start and nothing happened.
I mean nothing, not even the power led comes on. I put the battery in which I know has at least half a load and nothing.

The fuse, still nothing changed. What is everything?
    It is quite dead.

    Any help appreciated.

    > I mean nothing, not even the power led lights up.
    Sounds not good man

Sounds like the motherboard or CPU problem because no s lights are on.

    But try this;
Unplug the power adapter, remove the battery, wait some time (2-4 hours) and reconnect the two parts.
Check if you could power the unit in place.

If this is not possible then I would recommend contacting a professional technician to ASP.

Sorry, but that's all I can suggest

  • ODD makes noise at the start of Satellite P300 - 19 p

    I recently bought a Satellite P300 - 19 p.
When I have done hard disk sewitch grind a few noises.
Once I connected it stops. Is this normal. ?

In my view there s nothing unusual. Over powering the laser s objective reader calibrates and makes noises.
In addition, such sound can appear if there is a disc in the CD/DVD drive.

  • Satellite P300 does not start because of HARD drive password

I have a Satellite P300 laptop and it seems to be frozen.
When I turn it on a blue box rises and requires a HARD drive password before windows turns on, but I can't type the password because there is no cursor.
None of the buttons work. There is no way to type the password.

I was wondering if I have to buy a new hard drive and if I do, can get one with more capacity that it is only 149 gb?

I don t want to buy if its repairable,.

    Thank you

    > None of the buttons work. There is no way to type the password.
Connect an external USB keyboard and check if you can type the HARD drive password.
Generally, if you know the HARD drive password, the use of the external USB keyboard should work

Would it be possible that your keyboard is broken?
You can access the BIOS F2 press during the startup of the device?

  • Cannot start from the CD in my Satellite P300-23F

    Hello

I'm trying to fix the old laptop from my brother. It's a Toshiba satellite p300-23f. The laptop did not work well, so he bought another. I think he might have a problem with the HARD drive, but I'm not sure about this and want to try to format the HARD drive and reinstall the operating system.

When I start from the disc HARD I have no problem, insiders of OS normally, and I can 'use' laptop. The problem is when I try to boot from the OS CD. I get this message "Media test failure, check cable". I know the CD works, because recently I have instaled the operating system with this CD on another computer. I know that the CD player (not sure if it is called like this, but I think you understand what I mean) also works very well, because I tried different CD and it worked.

I've tried pressing F12 and boot from CD it and also tried to change the BIOS and put the CD in the first place, but it does not work.

No idea what's going on? Is it possible to make it work?

    Stand by.

  • Satellite P300 with XP hangs at the screen "starting windows."

I recently bought the Satellite P300 - 01 and had XP installed on it. I have fixed all the problems except for the question, that I'm going to start.

When I turn on the laptop it loads everything flashes on the login screen and then hangs at 'starting windows' screen If I turn it off and then again about three times this issue finally arrives with the login screen. There was an ASP.NET account, and after the BIOS update that he disappeared, but the problem is still there? Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    > There was an ASP.NET account, and he disappeared after the update of the BIOS
The whole story is really strange

I put t know how you installed XP on this laptop and why an ASP.NET account was created or exist, but in your case I would recommend doing so again.
Then install all service packs, hotfixes and patches of the XP!

Simply show words on XP on P300.
A friend of mine has installed XP on a P300 yesterday too and the XP works well
    Everything works fine!

  • Satellite P300 PSPC4A - BIOS no updates required for Win 7?

    I have a Satellite P300 (PSPC4A-03P01P)
Currently 2 hard drives, both are partitioned.
    Disc 1 - C and D
    Disc 2 - F and G
Current operating system on the C drive is OEM Vista 32-bit HP
    BIOS version is V4.20. 05/01/09

I want to upgrade the Win - 7 HP 64-bit operating system
I know that this will require a format the C partition.

In preparation, I downloaded all the drivers for Win 7 64 bit

    My Questions:

The BIOS will require the update to support 64-bit?

If partitions D, F and G are left intact, Win-7 64-bit on the C drive will be able to read?
Or these partitions will also require formatting?

    Thanks for any help

    Hello

There is no relationship between the BIOS and the operating system. Thus, you need not upgrade Bios for Win 64 bit.

    > If partitions D, F and G are left intact, Win-7 64-bit on the C drive will be able to read?
    > Or those partitions will also require formatting?

You can install the Os on C: and it will be able to read information on other partitions too.

  • Satellite P300-156 won't start or by MAIL

    Hello

I have a Satellite P300-156 I bought a few months as damaged. The screen has been damaged and the case slightly cracked. I replaced the screen and hard drive and main card seems to have no physical damage. I've been running this system for 3 months now without any problem but, today, for some reason, it won't start or even POST. It powers on and the CPU fan starts to turn then stops and does nothing. No display (I tried external). CD player works. No beeps.

I tried reinstalling RAM even open completely and reinstalling all connections, nothing done. Does anyone have an idea what component is gone? (CPU/GPU/RAM)

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thank you

Did you update the BIOS or something?
For me, this is a normal behavior when the BIOS chip is faulty.
