• The EBS R12 upgrade and solaris to linux in a one-way migration?

  Hi all, first post on this forum so bear with me.
  
  I plan on spending 11.5.10.2 Solaris (sparc) 64-bit EBS EBS R12 on RHEL 5 x 86-64 a and would like to know if I can make in a shot that is the migration and upgrade in one step or I need to go to R12 first and then migrate first and then upgrade or migrate.
  
  I understand the stages of migration and upgrade, but have not seen any documentation to support on the combination of them, someone does that?

  Hello

  You can upgrade the application in the Solaris to R12 box then migrate the R12 to Linux application (since your target OS is 64-bit Linux, please note that you can not migrate the 11i application as 64-bit operating system is accredited as a layer of database for the Oracle 11i applications only).

  The above should from a complete list of updates of the manual GR 11, 2 ID 837570.1...
  
  My source is CARS DB 10203 with a version of the timezone 3 which I upgraded to 11201. I need to apply patch to DSTv11 if so which OH I must apply the DSTv11 patch, 10203 source or target 110201? or should I just upgrade to RDBMS DST with the DBMS_DST package.
  
  Its really confusing... .can someone please guide me trough cela.

  OK - after the upgrade pl follow the MOS Doc 977512.1 (updated version of RDBMS DST in 11 GR 2 (11.2.0.1 and more) using DBMS_DST).

  DBUA does not take care of the time zone updates - this must be done separately.

  Update the database from 9i to 11g would take less time as Oracle E-Business Suite 11i to R12 upgrade.

• Latest patches of CPU for HOUSES 10.1.2 & 10.1.3 on an Instance of the EBS

  I would like to apply the patches to the CPU 10.1.2 10.1.3 homes of a BSE instance, but I am not quiet sure on the steps which are refferred in respective patches Readme files. Could someone help me please to find the right measures?

  I use OIM 11 g 2 and Oracle EBS user Managment 9.1.0.7.0 connector.
  I want to link the user's responsibilities in EBS your child to IOM. I tried to use the Scheduler ""eBusiness UM target user reconciliation resource ' but the execution of this work is just creating the EBS account for the user at the IOM. " I can see the user's responsibilities in the details information of the EBS account, which was created by the work of reconciliation of target, but I don't see them as the user rights

  How can I achieve this?

• Installation of the EBS for the use of 5-10 years

  I understand that when we sell EBS customers, they think that they will use it for a long time in order to make the economy because this expensive product.

  But the limitation is, the server gets amortized and dated or crashed after 4 years. Then the new powerful and less expensive servers will come out, but the old BONES after these times are no longer supported.

  In this regard, we can use VMbox to host the old operating system so that we can still use the EBS for a long time like 10 years? Is that a viable solution?

  Before you try to predict how scenario would be after a few years, you understand why updates are necessary. Updates always bring the novelties that are benefits in many ways. the upgrade of the operating system or software here, in this case is Oracle Applications. Always upgrade decision would be based on the cost to keep the current system and to upgrade the system. It depends also on the support get you from island Oracle and OS suppliers of suppliers.

  From now on, I know too few customers who still know the old 11.0.3 ERP systems that are run on very old OS versions and at the same time there are customers who are always on the latest versions of OS and Oracle applications.

  When I configure EBS adapter for Web Center, I am getting the error when executing the sql below script AXF_EBS_SOLUTION_DATA.sql, and I check the table AXF_CONFIGS does not exist in the db schema, not sure when this table will create. Please find the below error log details and give me some tip or link to overcome this problem.

  I have a question about setting up my profile for Oracle EBS. I just installed Oracle EBS on 2 nodes. Now I have to run the commands manually instead of being able to type them on the command line. An example:

  Instead of typing adstpall.sh, I have to do $ADMIN_SCRIPTS_HOME/adstpall.sh.

  Also with the automatic configuration service. I have to go on the dbTier in $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/bin and run adconfig.sh and I have to go on the appsTier in $INST_TOP/admin/scripts and run adautocfg.sh but I want to be able to type adautocfg.sh anywhere and it will work

  There are also things as adpatch and adadmin, etc., I want to be able to run

  I don't know that there are several environment files in Oracle EBS. Anyone can guide me please to put up my profile so that I can use one of these commands from anywhere in the file system. I've never had to do before. I know they have to be in my .bash_profile, but I don't know what should go and what should not go. Please help me in this regard.

• Backups of the EBS

  Can I request (from a point of view low tech) built in tools that come with oracle EBS to perform backups of the system/mo? If so what is the tool of "backup" called?
  
  It is ordinary people use the built in tool - or is there any 3rd party tools specific to the EBS for backups?
  
  And what areas do you backup, is there a number of jobs, or work of master, which back up? Just the underlying database? Or other stuff? that is a backup for claims, one for payabales, for GL etc etc.

  There is no integrated with Oracle EBS tool to back up the system.

  For all my clients, I use command o/s "tar" for the purposes of backup and RMAN for backup of the db.

  We backup all of the basic and application before patching.

  There is nothing like backup for receivables, for Payables... etc. In fact, all data are stored in db and the files at the top of the application.

  All patches are exposed (migration to Linux with the version of Oracle Applications 11i [238276.1 ID]), so make sure that you follow all the steps in this documentation before migrating to the application tier node.

  Also, make sure you have all the pre - req packages installed as directed by these documents.

  It is strongly recommended that you apply these patches according to Note: 761567.1

  These patches solve the following:

  -Perl regression test failure
  -Patch Application Wizard (admsi.pl) cannot start GUI
  -Element of Configuration failing AutoCreate

  If you're not going to patch this facility and it is only for learning purposes, you can jump to apply these fixes.

  I try to control EBS R12 in grid control. So far, I followed the AMPInstallGuide.pdf guide and corrected my grid control installation. I also followed the related documents in this thread How to start ebs R12
  
  I have an agent that is running on the server of the EBS and I can see the database as expected.
  
  I don't see anything else right now.
  
  Is there something fundamental, that I'm missing?
  
  On the application of the patch Patch 5843357 -R12 APPS PATCH FOR the PATCHES REQUIRED FOR the plugin EM

  Hi Alan,

  You must run AutoConfig on the database layer, and then on the application layer, even if you have a single node installation.

  The steps are:

  Run AutoConfig on the database layer:

  -Login as user oracle
  -Source file of database env
  -Issue "" cd $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/scripts /".
  -Run the automatic configuration script (adautocfg.sh)

  Run AutoConfig on the application tier:

  -Login as user applmgr
  -Source file env
  -Issue "cd $INST_TOP/admin/scripts.
  -Run the automatic configuration script (adautocfg.sh)
