  I can not find the patch tool, or tools move Content-Aware. Tutorials I've read online say that they are under the Spot Healing Brush tool options, but I have no options here at all if I right click on it.

  Please right-click on the Spot Healing Brush, and you should be able to see the patch tool.

• Patch tool freezes

  After installing CS5 on my new computer, the patch tool shows the real image of the patch tool while using it. Super annoying because I can't see clearly what I do. I don't know how to change this?

  Value other than 'Standard' painting cursors. (I'd rather brush tip full size)

  The Patch tool is bundled with the corrector. Click and hold on the icon of the Healing Brush tool, you will see a menu of bundled tools. The Patch tool is here.

  You can also use Adobe Help to look for features of the basic tool.

• Selection is not so after using the patch tool

  ETA: I just checked on our laptop (XP) running 32-bit CS5 and the patch tool worked as I remembered - after connecting, the region is been selected until I hit the left button of the mouse and selected a different area of patch.

  Look at the tool options bar, you probably want to have new selection enabled.

  As suggested indirectly, try the Healing Brush tool (note: not the Spot Healing Brush).

  

  Choose the source of the layer that you want to retrieve the news of (or use the option sample all layers), then choose the layer on which you want to copy the info in and use the corrector.

• Just patch tool mixes, does not replace

  I've seen tutorials on the patch tool, but my patch tool does not seem to do what the tutorials...

  I read further discussions on how this tool is supposed to melt near the edges to give a good result, but it is mix it all.  I already deleted my file by starting photoshop with ctrl alt shift key.  I also have the reset tool.  These screenshots were taken immediately after the opening of photoshop cs4 and delete the file.  Can someone tell me how to use the patch tool, as it is shown?  I am not as interested in other methods to achieve the same result: I already used the Clone Stamp tool to do the job.  But why my patch tool does not seem to work as it should?

  If you are working on the background layer, while having another open above the background layer you will get this result. Make sure that you are working on the correct layer.
