  How can I batch rename 100 files so that I change only the first four characters of a name of fifty character where the last 30 characters are different for each file name?  To BACK the rename command would work with wildcards, but my files names are too long for BACK.  I tried the select all, press F2 and change the first, but all the characters changed instead of just the characters that I have edited.

  I'm trying to use pathfinder to merge paths with the same colors. I have a lot of colors, so that Select > same fill color would solve my problem, it is very slow.

  My typical workflow is basically by selecting the same colorful and using pathfinder (unite) paths to combine. If the paths have different colors that he would do all the unique color of merged paths. It does not work.

  I want to combine only the paths with the same fill color with the other, but I couldn't come up with a good workflow.

  Someone had a similar problem/situation? What are my options?

• How to set the units creating paths with a script?

  I'm trying to update a script that used to work in Photoshop CS4, but that seems to completely ignore the units that I use in the clouds.  The script below should create a path with two lines that form an X through the whole document.

  To test, I created a new page 8.5 x 11 inches and 300 DPI.  I then run the script.  However, the form that is produced is huge and most are off the screen.  What I am doing wrong?

  The code you have posted product lines with points in the corners of the image for me when the image is 72DPI.

  Could you post a screenshot of the faulty results with the relevant panels visible?

  OK, but what is so special about using 72 DPI?

  At 72 dpi 1 pixel corresponds to 1 point.

  What I would like is to create a modifiable object path as it appears with the 3D effect applied, so Illustrator treats the effect as 'flat', if you know what I mean

  Is there a way to improve (color change) the path generated with the pen tool. I don't want to say 'draw' the path after the path is complete. I mean the original plan of the path with the pen tool. I have a pretty full picture which I cannot see the path I'm generating the path.

  I think I see what you mean... There is a fine line and unlike in other applications, I'm fairly certain that I am not mistaken, you cannot specify a color for her.

  Someone here is an ActiveX control, or a workaround to have a folder of dialogue path which also shows the files in the folders? File LV dialog box displays only records if limit you the selection of records.

  Ideally, the browser would look like the browser folder with the "Select a file" button, but would also show the files in the folders. One solution would be to activate the files and folders and simply get rid of the file name of the path if they choose 'Open' instead of 'Current folder', but it's not ideal.

  This isn't the ideal solution because it allows the user to select files and folders, but he re - opens the dialog box if they do.

  I just want to confirm if the attribute given by the seller are valid for the Cisco ISE generate the CSR. Or to use the valid FQDN in the entrances to CN and not the generic name. And use the generic name in the name SAN DNS entry.

  Please advice. Appreciate the prompt respose of the expert.

  Mike,

  A wildcard cert is definitely the way to go in a distributed environment.  Use the host name the node of your Admin got into the CN field:

  CN = ise, OR = domain, OU = com

  then enter the SAN field as asown above the CSR.

  I'm working on the translation of a project that works well on Windows and Mac, but seems to have a problem with the related film called, especially when called a jump upward in the directory (one folder to another).

  Yes, all dependent files were present, check boxes enabled, etc.

  The problem was more subtle, as suggested by the fact that some worked and some did not.

  The obvious answer:

  I have a "main menu" movie that calls the films linked from the user clicks (or key).

  Some worked and some did not IOS, well that all worked on Windows and Mac, spotlight.

  Review of those who did not work, I found inconsistent capitalization ("Surgicalkit" vs "SurgicalKit") between calls and the names of .dir film bound for those who did not work in the IOS (and only in the).

  It seems that, unlike the Director spotlight for Mac and Windows, released IOS .ipa path strings are CASE-SENSITIVE!

  Once I changed the names of .dir for standardized use of capitalization, all calls worked.

  Now on the other bugs.

• How to recreate the arrow / path with rectangle frame?

  I'm new to Illustrator and I am currently to edit a document that was created by someone else. I'm trying to recreate the arrow below:

  I wish I could recreate the arrow, as I'll use this same arrow in multiple documents. When I click on the arrow appears a square frame, and in the layers window, it is labeled "path." When I change the weight in the time window, it changes the width of the arrow, but in the window of traits, it is on a regular line with no arrowhead. Also, when I tried just to draw my own arrow, none of the arrows in the arrowheads menu corresponding to it.
