Pavilion 15-n092sa: replacement of keyboard (urgent)

So after you spill a few drops of tea on my keyboard, it no longer works (for the most part).

Individuals:

-Some keys do not respond when you press

-If the buttons respond, they tend to relate to different characters (the C key is now my space bar)

-A key can type several characters at once when you press only once

I followed the instructions outlined here: http://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c03738933#AbT0

but none of the methods have solved the problem.

Issues related to the:

Is there anywhere I can buy a replacement keyboard (in the United Kingdom)? My research found little.

Is there a place any replacement of the keyboard?

Yes! This keyboard should be good

Can I replace a Keyboard(Non-Backlit) with a backlit keyboard in my laptop HP Pavilion 17-e020dx?

    Hello

This series of computers portable your (and many others) have only 1 option for keyboard:

Full-size, island-keyboard with numeric pad in black or white finish. Gesture of support: MultiTouch gestures
activated, two fingers to scroll and pinchzoom as default
    Faucets, active by default
Support for Windows 8 modern trackpad

Therefore, you can not replace the keyboard only, you must also replace the motherboard that supports a backlit keyboard. If necessary, it would be a very expensive upgrade.

    Kind regards.

    Hello

I have to face with unpleasant question. I tried to clean my keyboard and unfortunately, some of the buttons after disassembly will not 'stick' again. Under the buttons plastic ties seem to be loose and he won't keep together more.

    So here's my question:

  • HP Pavilion g6 - 1191ev: replacement keyboard

Hello everyone and thanks for your support in advance.

I am owner of a g6 Pavilion - 1191ev. After about 4 years of use my laptop, it's normal I think, that sort of damage was caused to the keyboard of the laptop. I mean, taking off and reposition the touch of the keyboard, in order to clean beneath them with a jet of air, that unfortunately I broke three of the keys on my keyboard. It scared me to remove the others too, it was quite difficult to clean my laptop keyboard now. Therefore, I have to replace it with another keyboard.

After doing the replacement request, ask a technician, he told me that I would be able to buy a new keyboard to ebay.com, and it would cost me about $ 40 (not including shipping costs). Then I could be replaced by him.  In this context, I was wondering if it would be easy to replace by myself, at least do not have to pay for the replacement, because the cost of the keyboard is already high. Could you please guide me to replace the keyboard? There is no indication in the manual guide of the laptop that would help me to replace?

In addition, do you think it is rather a simple or a complicated process which should not be performed by a single user, but by an experienced technician? I ask because I would not cause 'collateral damage' to my laptop, trying to replace the keyboard.

Finally, I would like to know, what should I be careful when ordering a new keyboard on the internet. By that I mean, how would I find what is good keyboard for my laptop, and what would be suggested for this price.

Thanks a lot for your help.

See pages 53-55. These pictures are very good. On a scale of 1 to 10, maybe it's a 4 to the degree of difficulty and as part of an end user who can follow directions and knows which end of the screwdriver is which.

$40 is indeed a very high estimate of the price. Here are a few options:

  • HP Pavilion dv7-6b78us: 2 ports keyboard no longer work after replacing

I replaced the keyboard on this laptop a few hours ago. When I got to the top, the two USB ports on the right side of the laptop don't work anymore.

I have disconnected all devices from ports, uninstalled all the USB drivers, shut down, unplugged from power and removed the battery for more than 30 minutes.

I've got it backwards, propelled the drivers installed, but the two USB ports were not always working.

I checked the Device Manager to verify that there is no (!) ot (?) by devices.

I did a system restore from a point I knew for sure they worked, which was five days ago. Still no luck.

    It's really not cool.

If anyone can provide solutions, I would appreciate it.

    Sincerely,

    Tom

The right USB ports are on a separate Board that plugs into the motherboard with a cable that runs under the keyboard.

    Manual

    See page 77.

It is not impossible that you hit somehow the connection usb Board cable during the installation of the keyboard. I don't see any other explanation.

There is no public document with precise description. I put t know how old is your device, but please be careful with the guarantee.

In any case if you want to swap the keyboard, you must remove the plastic part on the back of the keyboard. Be careful, how you do it. If the plastic part is removed, you can see the screw that the difficulty of the keyboard. Removing the work is already done. The last thing is to disconnect the keyboard.

As I said to be careful and I hope that you will not damage a few other components.

  • How to replace the keyboard on the Satellite R830?

I need to replace the keyboard on my Satellite R830 as the space bar is not registered a press unless you press the middle of the bar.

New keyboards are available on ebay, but can someone please provide instructions on how it is possible to replace the keyboard. A web search has been fruitless so far.

    Thanks in advance,
    Haydn.

    Hello

    Your warranty is valid?
In this case contact the ASP in your country to replace the kneeboard, since this would be covered by the guarantee and he would be free of charge.

As far as I know the keyboard replacement procedure is the same as for Portege R700 series
It s difficult because you will need to remove the other parts like the
Battery, sim card, express card slot, modules of memory, base Assembly to gain access to a
Ribbon of aluminum on the back of the lid Assembly. Then you could cut the lid Assembly face to the top and peel the keyboard joined the insulator.
And also you can not use the keyboard removed and isolator keyboard again. You will need to use new parts.

    Dave

    Hello

Well, I don t found any documents concerning the keyboard replacement procedure.
But as far as I know to remove the keyboard, you must first remove the battery. You need to remove a strip that is placed at the top of the keyboard.
You will find 2 screws which fix the keyboard. Remove the screws, then lift the keyboard and unplug the cable.

Please note: If you open Notepad (keyboard) you will lose the warranty! In this case, you must contact the ASP. Be careful.

    Good bye
