HP pavilion dv9417cl assistant wireless wont light up, by selecting wireless Assistant of contol panel does nothing, all the drivers are updated...

I see. I hope that you meant that the button on the Notebook wireless is ON. Is this correct?

If this is the case, we go ahead and try reinstalling the card inside your laptop wireless.

Please refer to the Page no.: 54 of the manual of your product from this link: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01311536.pdf

You need to remove the wireless card and place it in its actual position. This is to ensure that there is no loose connection or static electricity accumulation. Check if the laptop works properly after doing this.

  • Pavilion DV7-1451nr: Wireless button stays amber

My pavilion dv7-1451nr turns wireless keyboard blue when I have to reset the motherboard by removing the battery and press the power button / stop seconds, after which I plug in charger to him while leaving the battery and press the power button / stop. After that, I would like to press f10 to enter the bios setup, then I would like to load the defaults, save and exit.

After doing all that I have explained above, the wireless button becomes blue and wireless assistant would be activated and indicates that the wireless is turned on. If I check in the Device Manager, I see the hardware details and driver wireless populated it and everything should work fine, but once I restart the computer, the wireless button would refuse to start. There is orange. If I try to check the State of the material status and driver WLAN on Device Manager, they would be is more filled it more and wireless assistant will refuse to start. If by chance he started, this would indicate that the wireless is turned off by the Device Manager.

I had tried uninstalling the wireless LAN driver and reinstalled just in case the problem came from the software side but not solution. Just this afternoon, I have decoupled from the computer and removed the card WLAN, dusted it and replace it back, but the problem persists.

The type of wireless network card is Atheros AR5007 802.11 b/g WiFi adapter. I noticed something this afternoon, however, after having checked the service manual for the computer, I realized that there is specific types of the wireless card compatible for specific regions. For example, the number of appropriate wlan spare parts which must be on my computer is 582564-002 and have this with references with the number of spare part of wlan on the wireless card available on my computer that begins with sps 452..., I realized something was wrong. I'll leave that to stop you guys from HP, but I really need a solution to this problem very fast because it's really annoying me. Thank you.

    Hello @LL_Cool_J,

    Thanks for the information!

I don't know what you mean, when he asked if the model is 50xx or 40xx. Confirming the WLAN Module is a little difficult, because there are several manuals maintenance for this model.  I was able to refine the selection a bit, by comparing the numbers of spare part for hard drives.  Based on this REPAIR, the WLAN Modules you have listed, 582564-002, 593836-001, must be compatible.  However, I don't see the Atheros as option in this manual.  To be on the safe side, you can contact our telephone support HP.  Please use the following http://www.hp.com/contacthp and create a folder for your question and contact HP. • Wireless Assistant stopped working

Wireless Assistant has become invalid. I lost the icon on the task bar when in Control Panel, the wireless assistant won't open to allow me to enable it. I got it workingafter Download Driver Wizard wireless and wireless WLAn driver from Broadcom. When I restarted after it was no longer available and I could not get it working again

    Jim

I know it's late, but if all goes well, it will help others like me. I tried everything to fix this. I also have a HP Pavilion dv6000 equipped of Vista. After working twice because of this, I now know the problem is with the battery. Both times this happened to me, I did turn on (battery in poor condition). I used all the Microsoft tools, called HP (who wanted me to ship it to them to be repaired for about $400), re-installed the drivers and software and so on and so forth.

    Here's what seems to work:

Make sure you have re-installed the drivers of wireless network using the Recovery Manager: do not reboot until you have re-installed (mine were theBroadcom 802.11 network adapter driverandVista driver - Broadcom wireless LAN). Make sure that you running on AC. pull the battery and let then restart. You should arrive at Vista all reloading and grateful for your wireless adapter and be back in business. Do not know what will happen if I put the battery back in, but will try.

It would be interesting to see if it is enough to remove the battery and restart would have worked as well. Well, if you're like me you'll be happy just get the damn thing working again.

  • Uninstaling "HP Wireless Assistant', disadvantages?

    Hi guys;

I recently bought a HP Pavilion tx2635us. I decided to remove (uninstall or disable) most of the startup programs, but now I'm wondering if its safe to uninstal the "HP Wireless Assistant', since what I know, this is only an interface of"user friendly"to set up the WiFi or Bluetooth, devices which you can get to work through Windows.

So the question is: is it safe to remove the HP Wireless Assistant or it is indeed necessary for devices work properly?

    Thank you much in advance.

The wireless Assistant does not help to put in place or use wireless connections, it main purpose is telling the user how many wireless devices is on the laptop and if they are extinct, the reason why they are extinct.  If this feature is not useful for you, then yes uninstall the utility without consequence.

  • WIFI disabled in HP Wireless Assistant

Hi all, I have a HP HDX18 laptop 1013tx, and everything was working fine until a few days ago.

After a complete restore of the system using the recovery partition, the HP Wireless Assistant has opened for the first time and said that the WIFI network has been disabled. Pressing the wireless button on the mobile turn Bluetooth on and outside, but the WLAN is stuck on disabled people. I tried reinstalling the drivers wireless Assistant HP, but it did not work. I even tried to physically pull out the card and replace it.

The only information I have is that the Wireless Assistant says that the WIFI network is disabled in the computer configuration utility which I guess is the BIOS that access you by pressing F10 at startup. The problem is that there is nothing in the BIOS that has nothing to do with disable it or activate the WLAN.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

OK, well, I've managed to solve my problem. After arriving to the conclusion that something was blocking the wireless to start, I rebooted my laptop in SafeMode with network. And that is, the wireless worked in safe mode. I just rebooted in windows, and the wireless remained on and functional. I hope this will help others who have the same problem.

Any help or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

Success! Thank you for your fast help. I tried your recommendations 1-3, unsuccessfully, tried 4, but had no Recovery Manager on my computer, although I downloaded it later. I have yet to 5, but I was comfortable that go far if necessary. I had already updated the drivers through Internet HP site without success. The help of your suggestions and the treated well thought, I tried other sources to get the necessary software. I finally ended up at the Intel site and used the Intel Driver Update Utility, who has found a new driver and software that was not available at HP. I downloaded and installed the new software, and the wifi worked instantly, as well as the light changes to blue.

I would not have found the solution without your help, and I am very grateful not only for your recommendations, but for how quickly you responded. You were a life saver, thank you!

  • HP Wireless Assistant for Windows 8 (upgrade of Windows 7) (HP Probook 6450 b)

Computer laptop HP ProBook 6450 b basic model

    Purchased in September 2011.

Just yesterday upgraded to Windows 8. Was a child, all game worked initially. During the restart, I disabled the wireless since installation of Windows Defender wasnot.

Then I realized, I can't turn on wireless. The button is just disabled.

Can only be connected on the local network.

Search on the web revealed HP Wireless Assistant be the culprit. This should be removed before the upgrade in Win 7.

It is now too late.  Does anyone have a resolution for this one?

    Thank you

I read in another post that changing the default BIOS settings should do the trick.

    That seems to work:

    -Stop the laptop

-Remove the power cable & battery

-Press the on switch for 30 seconds

    -Power home

    -Laptop power and press F10

-Enter the BIOS and set the changes to default

    That seemed to work.

Of course, restarting do not work and that is easy to fix (driven from power!).

Thank you all for the advice.

As said, the model number of my cell phone is dv6-6c13nr. Windows 7 my laptop was FUBAR to a computer virus that my sister managed to get on it somehow. I said to hell with it and just DBANed all of the hard disk and install a clean Windows 7 did. Everything was fine except the wireless driver adapter could install.

I tried the Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver and the Ralink 802.11 b/g/n WiFi Adapter linked to the page of the driver of my PC model. On two of them, whenever I click on the downloaded file, nothing happens after having unpacked the file, no installer doesn't run. I tried to run regularly and running as long as administrator, I also tried to run the installation programs directly from where they were first decompress the C drive, on a regular basis and as an administrator.

All other software on the driver of my PC model page and drivers installed just fine except the wireless, it's the only thing and the most important thing, that I can't seem to get on with the job. Windows 7 comes with the PC version was Windows 7 Home Premium, the version I have and that I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate. Not ultimate compatible drivers?

I also held account install earlier versions of the drivers, but I can't find anywhere legacy versions that don't look like not fragmentary. I would really appreciate help with this.
