Wireless Assistant is on, wifi light stays orange, no networks detected

DV9000T

Windows XP sp3

Intel wireless wifi link 4965AGN

I used only the ethernet cable for internet access since I bought the new laptop. Now I need to use the laptop on the road and need wifi service. Said device adapter Wireless Manager is installed, has the latest drivers and works correctly, the wireless network connection is enabled as says it's working properly. With the ethernet cable disconnected, wireless Assistant works correctly, the current wireless broadcom LAN drivers are installed. The wifi button varies from Assistant wireless wireless wireless off on. Seeing orange for button wifi never never turns blue, some networks are.

Any help or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Success! Thank you for your fast help. I tried your recommendations 1-3, unsuccessfully, tried 4, but had no Recovery Manager on my computer, although I downloaded it later. I have yet to 5, but I was comfortable that go far if necessary. I had already updated the drivers through Internet HP site without success. The help of your suggestions and the treated well thought, I tried other sources to get the necessary software. I finally ended up at the Intel site and used the Intel Driver Update Utility, who has found a new driver and software that was not available at HP. I downloaded and installed the new software, and the wifi worked instantly, as well as the light changes to blue.

I would not have found the solution without your help, and I am very grateful not only for your recommendations, but for how quickly you responded. You were a life saver, thank you!

    HP Pavilion G6-1210SA (A3S73EA #ABU) [SN: 5 CD 1402855]

I bought this laptop yesterday, less than 24 hours old. I installed a clean Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and then the problems started.  Install Win7 Ultimate on my other machines was not a problem.

Under 'Other devices', network controller is displayed and no driver can be found for this.

I tried the hard reset as suggested in another thread - did not work.

I tried to install some of the wireless drivers found on the site of HP - no luck.  Most of installs it fail/time.

    Hi, Max:

According to the device details ID you have validated, your laptop is the Ralink RT5390 802.11b/g/n WiFi.

This should be the driver that you need.

    Hello

Calibrate you the battery in the past?
Do this! It would improve the performance of the battery and battery working time.

You will need to you completely discharge the battery until it is completely empty.
Then charge the battery again. Repeat several times.
I think that 3 to 4 times would be enough.

After that check if the battery is expected to reach 100% and if the led would turn to green.

My Airport Express will randomly start flashing orange and I have to unplug it to make it back to the green. Wifi continues to operate even when the light is orange flashing. Anyone know why this is happening?

The next time you see the flashing light amber...

Open Finder > Applications > utilities > AirPort Utility

Click on the image of the AirPort Express

If you see a button update, click on update the firmware on the airport

Otherwise, find status and click on the little orange dot it. A message will appear to say why the airport complained and suggest a remedy for the issue.

  • S5-1224 blue power light stays on after stopping; What happened to the orange light "sleep"?

I have a Slimline Paviliion S5 - 1224.  No changes or additions were made to the material.  When I stop the machine, it is used to change the orange or the wide power led.  Now, the blue power light stays on and blinks after power off the power.  The light on the adapter bluetooth in the front USB port stays on, too.  After removing the USB BT adapter, the light on the adapter goes off, indicating that the power is off to this USB port.  But PC power light blue is not far away, even when it is disconnected from the wall outlet.  It's as if the machine is haunted.  I unplugged the decision-making and the left that it disconnected for more than a week, but the blue light on the front of the machine never went out and is still on, even if she wavers and seems to fade a little.  When I turned on the rear, the light back to him is normal on State 'blue '.  Power off, blue light stays on.  Disconnected from the plug, light blue stays on.  I'm afraid to leave this thing in the House and will probably trash if someone does not have a solution.  Anyone who has ever seen anything like that?  All my friends of teckie IT are puzzled and suggested I post here to see if anyone else had the same problem.  Don't bother taking repair.

UPDATE: I removed all devices and low and behold, when I unplugged my BluRay USB drive, the lights are all on the CPU.  I restarted, close, tried to sleep and Hibernate and everything works fine now.  I guess that the BluRay player was watching somehow the CPU to turn it off.  It is a unit that is known for needing a huge amount of energy to function properly.  Naturally, the Blu - Ray player is not get reconnected to this HP PC.   Now I use with my Mac.

  • WIFI disabled in HP Wireless Assistant

Hi all, I have a HP HDX18 laptop 1013tx, and everything was working fine until a few days ago.

After a complete restore of the system using the recovery partition, the HP Wireless Assistant has opened for the first time and said that the WIFI network has been disabled. Pressing the wireless button on the mobile turn Bluetooth on and outside, but the WLAN is stuck on disabled people. I tried reinstalling the drivers wireless Assistant HP, but it did not work. I even tried to physically pull out the card and replace it.

The only information I have is that the Wireless Assistant says that the WIFI network is disabled in the computer configuration utility which I guess is the BIOS that access you by pressing F10 at startup. The problem is that there is nothing in the BIOS that has nothing to do with disable it or activate the WLAN.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

OK, well, I've managed to solve my problem. After arriving to the conclusion that something was blocking the wireless to start, I rebooted my laptop in SafeMode with network. And that is, the wireless worked in safe mode. I just rebooted in windows, and the wireless remained on and functional. I hope this will help others who have the same problem.

    3. Enter the BIOS .
    4. Select Advanced options .

  • Pavillion dv9000 wireless is no longer and the light remains orange

A few days ago I was on the internet when the internet on my laptop suddenly began to spoil, so I restarted my laptop and now the wireless in no longer works. When I turn the switch on and outside, the light remains orange and don't return to the blue. He connects well with, I use an Ethernet cable, but I need a portable MOBILE! I can't be tied down!

I bought my laptop used a few months ago because it was cheap and I needed a college, and when I got it, it had Windows 7 above. I think I might be able to try to reinstall the wireless driver, however, I can't find one that fits my BONES. In addition, I don't even know if that would help. I am so lost on this and I really need help!

My laptop has a bad battery and my brother also has a Pavilion dv9000 and his video card was released a few weeks ago... At this rate, if no one can help me for free (since I am a broke student, I can't afford to pay for this problem and because I have nothing to break this.) ( hp should extend his warranty since it is their defective product), I will never buy hp again, and I'll start to know how many of these products are a pit of money and how little HP seems to care about their customers!

For me, it is a hardware failure. I tried your solution, but it did not work.

I don't remember if I mentioned earlier in this thread, but I had a family member (who knows a lot about computer) look at my laptop. He traded my module wireless for the other wireless modules he knew worked, but none of them worked. My wireless module worked in his laptop computer, but not in mine. So, even if I had bought a new wireless module, it would not have helped. The guy who looked at my laptop even done a factory reset, but it still did not help.

In the end, we learned that my motherboard does not accept more wireless modules. And this laptop is known for having so many hardware failures, it's not worth buying a new motherboard. For now, I'm stuck with a wireless adapter until this laptop terrible finally stops right turn.

    EDIT:
This isn't really a solution; It is not really a big part of the solution in my case because my wallet isn't bottomless (even if that were the case, I doubt that I had still shell out money to buy a new motherboard - I would just buy a new laptop). But it is a conclusion and what I discovered.
Pavilion dv9000 is that a waste of money and time, and HP is no longer offer a useful support to the Pavilion dv9000 users.

How can I find my model number or product number?

I understand that you can connect to your network with a cable but not wireless, as the orange rest button.

You have the cable connected when you try to connect wirelessly?

If so, disconnect the cable and try again as you can't have both at the same time.

Go to the Device Manager unplug the ethernet cable.

If the wireless adapter is not listed, try searching for the hardware changes?

Here is a link to the HP - troubleshooting your wireless network computers and Internet (Windows 7) that should help you too.
