Pavilion 550-154na: add additional USB3 ports at the 550-154na Pavilion

I need extra USB ports for external hard drives like all rear ports are now filled.

While that would be a hub powered plug-in I'd rather install a USB3 card using spare internal / available PCI Express x 1 & a SATA power Y splitter cable if I can. Are there any speed, power & the and/or other implications please?

USB3 ports are likely to run at full speed?

And internal 180W power enough for these additional requirements?

Thank you very much.

It worked very well. A USB 3.0 port Inateck 4 split easily in the spare PCI x 1 slot, powered by a splitter cable to 'Y '. Took about 3 minutes, which worked immediately, & big parade.

  • I would like to add additional management port with different user service

    Hello

Version of the grid control is 10.2.0.1.0.

My company has now more than 100 target or with teams of Directors access to the WHO,

The original grid for us infrastructure is 1 WHO + 1 OMR. WHO answers very slowly recently.

Now we decide to add additional management service in another machine.

The user to operate the original SGD is different from WHO come, it will be a problem when you configure the new OMS?

The other issue is, we want to use different ports (11200) for the new OMS, it is practical, if OK, how?

OK, you can choose any username, any username to install additional management service in another machine.

It has nothing to do with the configuration of the original WHO. They remain in the 2 totally different machine. SST and their, OC4J OracleAS Web Cache

  • Add additional SATA ports

I have three hard drives in my XPS 9100 (start + two storage drives). I've been threatening to install an SSD , which would replace current among the hard disks. I have also two optical drives. Who uses all five SATA ports.

Ideally I would like to leave the HARD drive that is currently installed and reformat the drive for additional storage, but the issue of SATA ports and supply connections arise.

I could do this by installing a PCI-Express card like this:

StarTech.com 2 Port PCI Express controller card PEXSATA22I internal SATA II

and using a divider of power like so?

    StarTech.com 6 SATA Power Y Splitter cable adapter - M/F in PYO2SATA

Note: I would connect the SSD to a SATA port on the motherboard (not map).

    DG

    Dg27,

They attract very little energy, so it shouldn't matter.

  • I want to add 2 USB3 ports for my Pavilion 9667ea laptop using the available Express/54 slot.

My question is, I want to use a: 2 ports USB 3.0 Flush Mount Expresscard 54 MM adapter card (one made by StarTech or similar) into the available Express54 slot that is currently empty. There is of course no reason to do this if the width of the Strip or BUS speed is not sufficient for USB3. I don't know what bandwidth is on the 9667ea of flag? If it's only 2.5 gb/s, then it will not be worth, but if it is 5 gb/s, then it might be interesting to do?

Would there be other problems by doing this update, such as driver problems?

As the Pavilion dv9667ea laptop computer was bought in 2008, so I suspect that the bus Express/54 is the ExpressCard Gen 1.0, which is the old standard. "StarTech.com" put this out in specification here.

This means that the flow will be 2.5 GB and not the 5.0 GB for the highest specification of the ExpressCard Gen 2.0 bus. It's a shame that a port USB3 is now not worth.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Why Windows backup all files to predefined backup weekly? How can I get to only add additions and changes to the backup files?

I back up my files to an external hard drive.  Rather than simply add changes or additions, it adds all the files each time, causing the hard drive fills up quickly.  This problem was not always present; It began less than a year ago, so I wonder if it was caused by an update.

  • Add card serial port of the Optiplex 780 desktop

I have a refurbished Dell Optiplex 780 compact desktop computer.  I would like to add an inexpensive PCI card that has two serial ports RS-232 legacy.  The description says that it is a "PCI to serial port card".  He mentions "for 5V PCI slot only."

I think the 780 will take this card, but I'm not well versed on the specifics of the new PCI standards.  This card will probably work?

    Thank you

    Jan

Typical PCI cards have one or two notches, according to voltage signalling. Cards requiring 3.3 volts have a notch 56,21 mm from the rear of the card; those requiring 5 volts have a notch 104,47 mm of the rear plate.  Universal PCI cards have two notches to allow them to be plugged into two system 5 v or 3.3 volt slots.

According to the Manual, the 780 has PCI 2.3.  PCI 2.3 supports 5 volt cards. Your slot machines are probably universal whereas they should accept a card with the notches or both. But be sure that

An important point is that the map you saw is low profile and full height. The manual said that 780 office accept "without editing card - up to two low profile cards. If you need to pay attention to the voltage more than just.

And the desktop version does not have a PCI-e x 1 slot, which means you need to find a PCI card.

Another alternative could be a USB > serial adapter cable.

    Hey!

I just replaced my HARD drive and did install a clean Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Everything seems to work so far, with the exception of ports USB 3.0 on the left side. I went to different drivers on the site, but I can't seem to find something compatible and windows update can't find anything. Windows does not what either being connected to USB3 ports, but the right side ports are fully functional. Before the new installation, all the ports were fully functional on both sides. • WLC CISCO - VMWare and additional network ports

    Hello world

Hardware wise, I managed a 8540 and a CISCO 5508 wireless lan controllers, so know around the GUI.

With the release of the VMWare Cisco WLC, it is ideal for a development and test lab environment. However anyone who has used will know it out of the box it does support 2 network cards (one for service and the other for management / data).

    The question:

How to add additional network ports? In VMWare, it's easy, but how do you get the CISCO config to recognize? I have searched the forums and other areas, but can't seem to find someone who did this.

    See you soon

    Christian

    Hello

Yes you are right, you can use only 2 network cards on VmWLC. never tried adding other network cards.

But what you want to do? Is to add a virtual interface on your WLC?

If so, you can configure your VmWare interface as a trunk and then create all your WLC virtual interface by defining the id vlan. Which makes sense for you?

    Thank you

PS: Please don't forget to rate and score as correct answer if this answered your question.

  • Is it possible to add additional color labels?

Currently in Lightroom it seems only 5 color choices for the tagging of photos. I have group photos using color labels, but I often have more than 5 groups (eg. panoramas), and I find the star systems not suitable for this purpose. Is there a way to add additional color labels to the existing group?

    Not really.

There are essentially five colors. BUT you can add different names for examples, see metadata > color label set > Edit... You might have a set for use with panoramas, one for the HDR, etc.. But a picture can have that ONE label at a time.

A MUCH more flexible and scalable system is to use keywords for the same info, like Photo > Panorama and Photo > HDR and Photo > support, etc. You will not see a color in the grid, but the list of keywords makes it easy to do what you want. Photos may contain a number of keywords, so you can have the two 'To Do' as a keyword and "print" or something else.

  • Add card USB3 to xw4600

Is it possible/wise to add a USB3 card to the xw4600 workstation? Your opinion on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Dianne

    Amelia, welcome to the forum.

I think that it should be possible.  Here is a page showing the PCI expansion slots in the workstation.  You can check what slots are available.  Then you can buy the appropriate card.  For example, here is a PCI Express x 1 card of HP.  She would lie on the #1 slot in the diagram.  Of course, it should be available.

Please let us know if this solved your problem or not.

    Hello

a query Panel is for query and do not update documents. You can add buttons to the toolbar facet

3 USB ports do not recognize the 3 TB drive; USB-2 ports do.

After working for about 1 year, my Seagate 3 TB backup drive is no longer recognized by the operating system.

The drive is connected to a USB port "SS" (i.e. USB3) port on the front of the computer.

During the boot UEFI confirms the existence of the impulse, but Win 7 (64) does not work.

When it is attached to a USB-2 port the drive works perfectly, but takes forever to my backup system.

I went through the procedure to connect to other ports 'SS', but the OS will still not

    recognize the drive.

    I would appreciate any advice.
