  Hey there,

  A few weeks ago, I bought my HP pavilion and I keep accidentally turning off my touchpad (I don't know how) and fight to reactivate. That's the only downside I've noticed with this laptop.

  I was wondering how can I avoid this happening? I can't find a way to disable it.

• Pavilion 6000 wireless disabled

  Portable model is Pavilion 6262eu with Vista Home Premium.

  After working perfectly for several years, the message "Windows cannot find any networks" released on 24 October.

  Although the switch wireless on the laptop is on, the indicator is stuck on Orange, rather than blue.  The laptop works fine when it is connected through ethernet cable so I can use an IPAD and a desktop XP wireless, the router seems OK.

  I assumed that the problem has something to do with NVIDIA (?) network controller, but the Device Manager indicates that the controller is working properly.  I tried several system restores and unchecked the option DM laptop turn off the controller to save power.  I also enabled the start of internal network adapter in the BIOS (relevant?).

  The controller driver is nvm60x32.sys (6.2.0.126) provided by Microsoft.  I tried to download the Broadcom driver on the HP website but ended up with a sp37746. File of CVA, which I have no idea what to do with!  -What is that supposed to replace the Microsoft driver in the drivers directory?

  As you can probably see, I've reached the limit of my technical skills some time ago.  Can you help me please?

  Dv6000/dv9000 models was riddled with problems of motherboard.

  One of the most frequent problems is that the power of the wireless card slot is cut, then wireless card mysteriously 'disappear' from Device Manager.

  Well well... not mysteriously, if you know why he disappeared - no power make it more.

  So, if you go to Device Manager, click to expand the network adapters section, and if what you see is the nvidia nforce ethernet card listed (it's the wired network adapter), that's what happened to your wireless capability.

  There was also a certain model Atheros or Broadcom adapter wireless network which are listed there too.

  It is not any fix other than to replace the motherboard (not recommended), or buy an adapter wireless usb external to get some use more out of the laptop until the rest of the mother Board issues develop.

  You can expect to lose the video, audio and DVD eventually, but not necessarily in that order.

  You should be able to do the following.

  Open windows control panel and on the top right, next to the display by: select "large icons".  Since the new layout, select the entry for the mouse and then select the tab settings of the ClickPad.

  Enter a check mark against "Disable pointing device internal when the external USB pointing device is attached", then click on apply then Ok to save the change.

  Laptop did an update when we had a power failure. Unfortunately, my battery is low and only lasted about a minute. When power returned, restarted laptop and I instantly get a black screen with a blue box asking for a password administrator or power on password, neither of which I have never used, or even know existed!

• Pavilion dv6-3126er: disable Synaptics TouchPad Popup Images

  Is it possible to get rid of these images that appear when I deactivate/activate my touchpad?
  

  Their appearance is also accompanied by usb insert/remove sound although I disabled all the system sounds on my computer.
  The installed TouchPad driver is most appropriate Driver Downloads page.
  I could not find such an option in settings available.

  I unchecked Synaptics Pointing Device Driver in the list of Startup items in the systemSetup. Helping to get rid of images and sounds, and the TouchPad still works and can be disabled and enabled, but the driver settings became unavailable. This obviously isn't a very good solution and I don't know if it's acceptable on this forum , but the result is exactly what I need, and you can always get things to how they were allowing the driver to load at startup.

  Yes, you can add a dedicated to your computer video card.  When installed the integrated graphics subsystem is disabled automatically.  Here's a card EVGA that should work on your computer.  I was told that it should work with 300W power supply (PSU) in the computer.  Any map that was newer requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS.
