  • Satellite M40X-112: malfunction of the keyboard after you emptied a cup of tea

    Good evening to everyone.

My girlfriend has emptied her cup of tea on his portable Satellite M40x-112.

Now everything works except the keys R, F, V, Fn.

Does anyone have experience with such a problem? The laptop is still not out of warranty.
So, I don't want to open it to clean the keys by behind.

So any advice or tips or something else (with the exception of the stupid remarks) would be useful.

    Thank you...

    Fischhaendler

    HEY Bela,

If you're lucky then spilt tea will only have caused a short-circuit in the keyboard itself and won't not flowed through to the motherboard. In this case, it would be possible to clean the keyboard or have it replaced by an authorized Service partner (to maintain the guarantee).

Unfortunately, you will not be between the ab and do you much because it will be dismantled and that would invalidate the warranty.

    Kind regards

    Hi Sarah,.

The State of the NUMLOCK is not saved if the user is not a member of the Administrators group. If the user is a member of the Administrators group on the NumLock State is saved to logoff.

The keyboard entry contains the user defined preferences by choosing the keyboard icon in Control Panel. The entries are located under this registry path:

    Hkey_Current_User\Control Panel\Keyboard

    1. Start> run> type: regedit and press OK. Reach:

    2. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Keyboard click keyboard and in the right pane, the InitialKeyboardIndicators value data should be 2 for NumLock on.

    3. also: HKEY_USERS\. Default\Control Panel\Keyboard keyboard in the right pane, click
InitialKeyboardIndicators Date 2-value for NumLock on.

    InitialKeyboardIndicators: REG_SZ: NUMBER

    Default: 0

It specifies initial values for the keys. 0 means that the NUMLOCK is disabled once the user opens a session; 2 means THAT NUMLOCK is turned on after the user logs on. This value is set when closing session or stop to preserve the State of the Numlock key right here.

  • HP Pavilion 13-a113cl: computer HP Pavilion laptop won't wake up from his sleep by the keyboard or mouse

I don't know if it is good advice to post this question in, but I'm having the same problem with two a113cl-13 laptops HP Pavilion running Windows 10 Pro (64-bit). The issue has to do with the awakening of the machines to sleep using the key on the keyboard or the mouse. I'm not having problems with them to wake up from sleep using the button of power or when I open or close them.

I checked the BIOS and power settings are not there. (Version of BIOS F.32)

I have checked boxes to allow devices to wake the computer in the management section of power without success.

I changed the Intel MEI driver with 9.5 instead of 11 which is usually installed without success.

I don't know if there is a problem with the BIOS and Windows 10 or something driver associated. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello @jpk717,

    Thanks for the information!

Since you have formatted the drive, you must be unable to return to the old operating system, unless you use recovery media.  You can find your product here recovery media:

    USB - Windows 8.1 Recovery Kit 64B

You can try to use the recovery media to install the original operating system and see if the problem is resolved.  If you choose not to go down this path, you can try to re - install Windows 10, using the media creation tool.

    I hope this helps.

    Have a great weekend!

    Don, welcome to the forum.

The first thing you need to do is to upgrade the power supply (PSU).  The current PSU is only 250W.  It is not enough to run a new intermediate level video cards.  They require a minimum of 400W.  It would be a good idea to buy at least one with 500W.  This will give you more choice of cards.  I love the Corsair and OCZ PSU.  I always suggest measuring the current PSU and comparing measures to whichever you choose.

You should stay at 9 "or less for the duration of the video card.  This ensures that it fits in the space provided.  You would need a larger case to go further.  I like XFX, EVGA, Sapphire and PNY in that order.  The two cards in the links can be inserted into the computer and they will be good for the games.  Be sure to read the 'Détails' and 'Clients' to learn more about each of them.  I'm looking for products that have more than 100 customers and are at least 4 eggs.  Normally, this will be a very good product.

  • HP Pavilion x 360 convertible: upgrading my RAM on the x 360 changeable

Good so I'm not new to work on desktop or laptop. However, this new model of HP Pavilion x 360 changeable has to ask me how do. Looks like I need to remove the keyboard and the plate to which it is attached, to get to one of the inner workings of sort I unscrewed everything and then worked to burst the plastic spikes that I did and then I realized its so easy to remove. It seems that the keyboard is locked in place or glued to the Center I was wondering if one knows something about this or no matter what help they can give me. Thank you

The maintenance manual should be in the "User's Guides" section of product support page, the RAM in the manual guide lists all parts that you have to go out just to get to the memory and that's almost all!

I suggest to read and review all procedures first and if you still want to go ahead and lose your warranty, print the manual or copy it into a phone, tablet or eReader before removing the first live!

  • Satellite A200-1AG - malfunction of the built-in keyboard

    Hi all

Update of the BIOS Toshiba Satellite A200-1AG, but the model was wrong, she was PSAE6E and should be PSAECE.

So everything works ok, external USB keyboard, but using the built-in keyboard certain keys fail IE:

    pressing on * e * key I get "egg".
    pressing on * i * key I get "egg".
    pressing on * 3 * key I get "38".
    pressing on * 8 * key I get "38".
    pressing on * d * key I get "d".
    pressing on *, * key I get "d".

I used a software to quickly show the key and I all 2 keypreses cases are shown.

When I reflash / update the correct BIOS, the problem persists.

This happens in windows under linux OS.

What I could do, I think it's a software / BIOS firmware error (+ could be bios code of the keyboard microcontroller? +), but I'm not sure.

I read some comments SLIC and bios MOD, but it is more difficult for me to understand. I don't know how and if it could be useful.

    Assistance may be useful.

    Thank you

    > So everything works well, also external USB keyboard, but the built-in keyboard some keys fail IE:

This is not a BIOS problem
You said that external keyboard work correctly, this means that keyboard controller and BIOS is OK, but in your case the internal keyboard started to malfunction
This means that the internal keyboard needs to be replaced

By the way: you can not Flash the BIOS to NOT compatible version fact is that the update of the BIOS supports some sort of protection, and the update process wouldn't start using bad BIOS.

  • Equium A100 - malfunction of the laptop keyboard

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A100 and when I press u on the keyboard on that I get 8u, when I I I ki, press o, I get lo, press press 2, I get w2. I checked the keyboard for defects on the cable to the motherboard, also shortcut keys off.

I tried an external keyboard and it worked well. I ended up buying a new keyboard which worked well for a while, and then all of a sudden, he started doing the problem mentioned earlier.

I uninstalled the driver and then reinstalled it but no difference. I am running Windows XP Home SP3.

I hope someone can shed some light on this problem.

    Thank you.

    > I tried an external keyboard and it worked well. I ended up buying a new keyboard which worked well for a while, and then all of a sudden, he started doing the problem mentioned earlier.
You bought the new keyboard and it solved the problem for a while.
    Well, in my opinion, there are two possibilities;
You had a great misfortune and the new keyboard started to malfunction too, or there is something wrong with the keyboard on the mobo controller.

But it's just my personal suggestion and if you want to know what's not exactly then you should ask a Toshiba ASP in your country for a control of the laptop.

By the way; I hope that you use the latest version of the BIOS.

  • Pavilion a409.uk fails to copy files during the installation of XP.

    Hello

I have a Pavilion a409.uk, which is a failure during the installation of Windows XP Professional SP2

I get a file copy error "Setup cannot copy the file sqls20.dll.

This is a clean install, deleting the previous partitions and create a new installation.

I do not have access to any original CD, I use genuine XP CD with SP2 preinstalled.

I tried same CD and I get exactly the same error.

Tried a CD of XP (SP1) same error, different file...

Tried a CD even before (pre - SP1) same error, different file.

Thinking that it is not the disc, I tried to replace the Ribbon IDE, no effect.

Tried to replace the CD player, no effect.

Tried to replace the HDD, no effect.

The HARD disk is a regular IDE device, with a 80 Ribbon IDE wire.

It's not a SATA drive and as such, there is no need to load additional drivers for only install.

Tried to find any idea on the HP site, none showing that I can see.

Before I write off that box, anyone got any ideas?

    Thank you very much

I came across it once and after that much hair pulling it is a bad stick of memory. If you have 2, try removing one and try the install again. If the same thing happens to pass the memory sticks & try again.
