  I understand that the original 640 GB hard drive has failed and you plan to install a SSD drive.

  Here is a link to HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service of Guide. Please note Chapter 3, page 36, section 1, the recommended replacement disks.  You will notice the 160 GB SSD is recommended only if you have an Intel processor.

  When I checked it Pavilion dv6-6135dx Entertainment Notebook PC specifications , you have an AMD processor.

  Other drives may work, but as they are not tested, there is no guarantee that it would be.

  Intel my wifi technology has stopped working and the custom install as it says my system is not compatible, but I had it on my old hard drive that I wiped and also custom 3000 drivers graphics intel install for the same reason that makes no sense as I have intel widi preinstalled

  I solved the problem just do a factory reset and my laptop's graphics card intel low power and amd for high performance im do not know what caused the problem

  Hi, I have a HP Pavilion P 6235uk desktop PC.

  The hard drive is 640 GB.

  I would like to replace it with a hard drive to Go 1000 or 2000. The hard drive interface is Serial ATA 11. Mewmory type is DDR3-SDRAM. It is 8 GB. Just wondering if anyone knows what hard drive I can use and 1000 or even 2000 GB.

  I understand that you are looking to upgrade the hard drive on your desktop computer, and I'd be happy to help you in this case!

  According to the Specifications of the product, you can update your system with any size of drive hard as much as it meets the following requirements:

  1. It has a SATA port connection
  2. The male power connector corresponds to the insertion on the replacement hard drive
  3. It is the same physical size as the previous hard disk. If it is less, you can always purchase a mounting bracket on the space difference.

  Can I replace the stock 640GB hard drive in HP Pavilion dv7-4285dx with a 2 to or is there a limit of 1 TB?

  I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion dv7-4285dx Notebook and want to improve the hard. Here is a link to your service manual page 48 for Hard drive specifications. I checked on the possibility of installing 1 TB and it shows me if you keep to 1 TB 2.5 internal SSD SATA 6.0 GB/s • 555 MB/sec in reading, 500 MB/s write plug, you'll be fine.

  The hard drive needs to be replaced. Where are you located (one country)?

  Dv6-6c40se is the model number. You have recovery discs? We can help you with the purchase of a new hard drive (which is not as expensive as you probably fear), its installation and put the software on it. Post back for help if you wish.

• HP Pavilion dv7t 3300: replacing hard drive SSD with the recovery DVD

  My Pavilion dv7t3300 has two hard drives... A SATA 500 GB of data and an SSD 128 GB containing the operating system and other programs.   The SSD drive that contains the operating system failed.  When I install the replacement SSD, I intend to use the HP System recovery DVD (2) which came with the unit.  If I load the recovery disks will be erase/format all my data-files in the 500 GB drive.

  The new drive is "naked".

  I just remove the second disk while making the recovery operation and slap it in when the process is complete. Better safe than sorry. Theoretically, the recovery disks will not affect the second drive, but it's really easy to be sure that they will not be 100%.

  I can't access any program now CS4 after upgrade my hard drive to an SSD. I get a small dialog box saying "license for this product has stopped working.   Play any video on my laptop HP Pavilion dv6-2155dx does not change the resolution in full screen... and the pixels seem to be so visible if the video is interlaced.

  Found that the 64-bit video rendering system codecs to play videos were different from those of a 32-bit system in some cases. Thus, the problem persisted. It has been solved now by optimal choice of codecs.

  Hey guys. I have a laptop HP Pavilion dv6-2155dx with a Intel Centrino Wireless - N 1000 wifi card. The card was to die for a long time now and about to go off completely. All other PCs and phones connect properly to the internet here, except that this laptop connects, but drops to around every 15 minutes, limited connectivity or so and I have to turn off the wifi and then turn it back on to operate for another 15 minutes.   The maintenance manual does not list a Centrino Wireless - N 1000 card. You must not only the correct chip, but he must have a part number of HP. Probably your card has this number on it, on a label or on the label that the number of "SPS" and it will be 6 numbers and a dashboard and then three other number 001 usually.

  The 5100 card is dual-band 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz so is in fact a better map and will work.

  The difference between the rotational speed 5400 and 7200 RPM is quite noticeable.
