Pavilion DV6000 - dead wireless network card

Model: HP Pavilion DV6000

Series: {information}

I bought this laptop from a friend about 8 months ago. Everything worked initially, but one day... the wireless off (a few months ago). The switch does nothing (light orange rest).

I tried to call support, but I was told that I have to buy something for them to offer any kind of support because it is out of warranty. I would also like to note that the call took time because of a strong accent of the Indian woman who took the call.

I've updated the bios with the latest version.

No wireless card does appear in Device Manager at all.

I have Windows 7 SP1 64 bit

----

From what I've read so far, it's a VERY a common problem with the Pavilion DV6000 (they should have issued a reminder on this subject because I have heard say that laptops from 1 to 7 of this model I have this problem.) I also read that it may require a motherboard replacement to get the wireless working again.

If anyone has information about how I can solve this problem, I would be very grateful.

Replacing the card is not expensive. All you need is your Jewelers screwdriver.

Here are prices ranging from $ 46.00 USD 15.  Just Google the part number of Broadcom. BCM94311MCG

    Hello:

The network drivers only you would need to uninstall those not Intel.

But I don't know how you're going to do because it does not add/remove programs for those.

There might be the Intel Proset software in Add Remove Programs menu and you can try to remove that but there would be other drivers/software wireless card appears there I know.

  • Pavilion dv6 wireless network card drivers?

I just finished reinstalling a new windows 7 64 bit on my laptop of uncles engaged. I reinstall the drivers and the only one missing is wireless network card driver. I run the scan on the HP site and it came not with all the drivers for the wireless adapter. It does not show that I have more drivers that need to be installed or updated. But still the wireless adapter does not work. I can't find the driver anywhere. Any help would be appreciated. It is a HP Pavilion dv6 laptop.

You're probably not following the instructions to find the hardware ID for the letter.

Here is the link for the driver, you need to map wireless in this model.

  • My wireless network card is disabled, and I don't know how to activate it.

My wireless network card is disabled, and I don't know how to activate it. I have a laptop HP Pavilion Dv9000, which originally had Vista but I installed XP Professional on it. According to Wefi all I had to do is click Start and then click on connect to and right-click on wireless connection and click Activate. My problem is when I click on start... There is no connect to click the button. Anyone know where I can find my connect button?  Thank you!!

    Hello

Try changing your preferences in the start menu.

Click with the right button on the task bar > select Properties > start menu tab > and make sure that this Start Menu, menu classic start no is selected. Then check to connect to.

Or, go to control panel > network connections. Find your wi - fi adapter and right click, select Enable.

  • my laptop does not recognize my wireless network card

I have a laptop HP Pavilion that I've owned for about 4 years now and it has built in wireless network card. Suddenly, I can't connect to the internet and its saying that I don't have. (ONDAAAH) I think it's NVIDIA. I went to Device Manager and I think he said NVIDIA nForce 10/100 Mbps Ethernet. Don't know what that, eans, but I cannot download the updates or drivers so it used to connect to internet. What should I do?

NVIDIA nForce 10/100 Mbps Ethernet network wired, it should have the word wireless.

  • Satellite Pro L10 - wireless network cards are compatible?

I have now managed to dual boot my older Toshiba L10 with XP and Windows 7.

The existing wireless LAN card is not compatible with the Windows 7 partition and I use an external usb wireless.

Does anyone have recommendations on an internal wireless card I can buy which can replace the existing one and is both compatible with XP and Windows 7 32-bit? Is it easy to replace one card with another?

    Hello

Hardware upgrade on mobile machinery is very limited and most of the information you can get on an upgrade supported for RAM or HARD drive. Upgrade for all other hardware is not supported, so actually there is no info on the hardware compatibility.

Nobody here can offer you a list with 100% compatible cards WLAN.
What WLAN card is inside your old L10?
Have you tried to install the drivers of Toshiba Portal Wlan WLAN - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/

Download driver driver from here and install it. Maybe this will help you get the wireless network card is functioning properly.

  • Satellite P10 - 221: "absent wireless network card."

    Hello world

I had this problem: the wi - fi network card is not present in the list of hardware, the installation of the driver (both Toshiba tools and Utilities CD and downloaded drivers) still fails. In the case of Toshiba CD it says "DON'T NOT updated the driver, Installation failed", while in the case of the downloaded drivers, nothing happens when I choose "Install" from the context menu (click on right .inf). The problem is: the wi - fi card is completely absent, the operating system does not, it does not matter where.

Someone at - it had the same problem or knows the solution?

    Thanks in advance,

    Hello

are you sure that you really have a wireless network card installed? Not all machines don't.
Check the code under the machine. It is printed on a silver label and looks like this:
    PIII1000/256/20/14XT/D/LM/W

This one is a 1 GHz Pentium 3 machine. Read your code and put it here and we can tell if it has a built in network RLR.

  • Satellite Pro A40 fell on the wireless network card; Damaged PCMCIA slot

This morning my Satellite Pro A40 (Celeron 2.6) fell 40 cm. He fell right on the wireless network card that has been inserted. This card is still alive and so is the rest of the laptop, but the PCMCIA location is little damaged. I can insert PC cards almost completely, just the last piece (when the pins are) wrong.

I removed the cover near the CPU, and there, I could see the inside PCMCIA slot; I could see the main part and the last part where the pins are. That little part as is pushed upward, as you can see in the pictures.

I think I'd be able to fix myself this PCMCIA slot, but I can't remove it. I removed all the screws on the rear plate, but he is still blocked.

    Pics:

    PCMCIA slot

The PCMCIA location; on the left, you will see the part with the pins, which is pushed upward. It's also what I see when I look at the pins in the PCMCIA slot. as they are pushed down, but I don't think they are folded.

    Wireless network card

Wireless network card; It is a little damaged but it still works.

Does anyone have an idea how I can remove the back plate, or another way to remove the PCMCIA slot and fix it?

    Hi Steve

Well, I can give t well you not answer how you can just remove the PCMCIA slot.
There are a lot of screws and to my knowledge, it is necessary to remove all covers and screws that are placed at the bottom of the unit and inside under the keyboard.
Please check this specific device. Perhaps you have overlooked a few screws.

But if it is impossible to remove the PCMCIA slot of the unit, I recommend to ask the service partner for a detailed instruction.

    Good luck

  • ProBook 4520 s - exchange of the wireless network card

    Hello everyone.

I think the exchange of the wireless network card in my Probook 4520 s, due to the low flow.
So I searched for a while a 5 Ghz supporting the card and found out that I am only able to get in the "white" cards list working. Then I looked at this page:

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/document.jsp?lang=en & CC = US & objectid = c02487851 & jumpi...

These cards can be any, that have been used in 4520 s. Mine (according to the Device Manager) is the Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n. This thing only supports 2.4 Ghz. Now, I looked at the list for a 5 Ghz supporting the card. I think that the 802.11A/B/G/N WLAN Intel HMC 572520-001 minicards can operate on 5 Ghz, because I read, that A appears only with maps of 2.4/5 Ghz. I read too, that maps of 2.4 / 5 GHz have 3 antennas, but on this card I only the slots for 2. Is this good? And this card would go into my 4520 s?

    Greetings,

    Colony

    Hi, colony:

You are right about your statement about the cards being described as A/B/G/N dual-band.

The best thing to do is look at Chapter 3 of your service manual.

You can only order one of the cards listed as supported and it MUST have the HP reference on it or it won't work.

I see only two possibilities for you...

The 6200 Intel and Broadcom 4322.  Make sure you also get the part # that corresponds to what country you live.

If your current Broadcom card has integrated Bluetooth, you will lose your Bluetooth capability if you order an integrated HP bluetooth module and probably the cable too.

None of the dual-band cards have embedded bluetooth.

    Link to the service manual.

    http://bizsupport1.Austin.HP.com/BC/docs/support/SupportManual/c02439213/c02439213.PDF

Then, you can order a card on the link below.

If you do not live in the United States, you can change your country at the top of the page to yours.
