Pavilion DV6809WM: Windows 7 free upgrade program

Hello

I have an old laptop dv6809wm Pavilion under 32 bit Vista premium. HP was runnning a program upgrade of Windows 7 for this laptop, but accept no more orders for this program. Is there a LEGAL way for me to get this disk and do the free update now? That is to say... download an iso, ect...

Thank you

RoDnSuE

@RoDnSuE

You are welcome.

I'm sorry that you get is more free Windows 7.

Maybe it's a good excuse to watch in the budget for a new computer: plenty of choice with the new technology that supports / comes - with Windows 10.

If your needs are modest, you can buy a new laptop for a small investment.  (Of course, more money = higher power of CPU, more disk space, more memory, better WiFi and more overall flexibility.)

No, I do not work for HP (or anyone else) - I like just tech and toys.  The smile.

Happy computing!

I bought a new computer with Windows 7 free upgrade. We also have another desktop computer. My son has paid and downloaded Windows 7 Home Premium on this computer (Asus), not knowing that I had the free update. ASUS sent me free upgrade disks. Can I use these on another desktop computer? Or I can download Windows on another desktop computer and transfer my registration to it, and then use the Asus drives on this computer?

Your question has nothing to do with the functionality of Windows Update (vs Windows upgrade), Jan.

That being said, Asus only can answer your specific question. Good luck!

  • Vista to Windows 7 free upgrade option?

I read that Vista users will receive a free upgrade to Windows 7. How can I go to do this, if it's true?

I have read through some more questions and found my answer. The program they had before is finished so I guess I can do it no longer. It was possible at one time.

  • Windows Vista free upgrade to Windows 7 - GONE - WRONG!

    Hello.

I bought this computer (HP Pavilion Dv61210 - his) coming 3 years ago now. I paid extra when I bought it to get the "free" upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 (which was not yet published).

Anyway, the laptop died a few weeks ago and comes back with a new hard drive and you guessed it, VISTA! I hate Vista! I'd rather have XP Vista any day - but I want my copy of 7 back. If someone can advise on how I can do this, I would really apprecaite it. I know that the download page has been foolishly removed the other everything on time and the old hard drive is completely dead.

I don't see why, after paying extra money on top (so the upgrade was not really free!), I can't have the operating system that I paid for. It is simply not good enough. I paid for the copy of windows 7 and I do not know that HP have documents who was eligeable / who downloaded the upgrade - which I am sure they can find me on as this is the same computer, series / product number, address recorded at etc - so I don't see why I can't get my copy , either to download or by mail on a disk for me.

And prior to the issuance of the; "Yes, but they do not give you the discs any cause you can put it on computer and then one more" comes when you buy a copy in the store, on a disk, you can do this - does not mean that we all do well! I have HP hard drive dead if need be prove my copy is lost. Hell, they can take my laptop and install the OEM version on it for all, I worry so it would certainly be installed only on a single computer!

THIS IS WHY PEOPLE NEED DISKS, HP!  IF YOUR PRODUCT FAILS, AS THIS ONE DID, WHY WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY MORE BECAUSE YOUR PRODUCTS ARE OF INFERIOR QUALITY? If I had the copy that I paid for a drive, I wouldn't even be here ranting about it, CAUSE I had HAVE RE-INSTALLED IT ALERADY!

I think his dispicable to delete the download page and prevent people to recover expensive software, in this case a BONE, they paid for (and the computer only on the condition that he would have to purchase Windows 7 when it is released). It's basically theft! When you pay for something and you don't get it, you don't accept it! No, you're saying "they stole my money!"...

It's not like HP is so tight on cash, they need to do these things, so that people who cannot afford having to buy new things all the time thanks to remove any kind of person to find their products! Absolutely disgusting!

I even remember that when I was downloading the upgrade and internet problems, I called HP and was told by the woman if I could not download it, I could not have the disk and there is no refund. So I said: 'it means you're telling me that I paid for a product you can't have and you don't give me my money back?' and she said 'yes' and hung up. Shows you how much HP cares about their customers! Disgusting!

Will not buy this brand again, definitely! The level of what is called 'customer service' is enough for you put off, never mind of waste like that!

you have your product key for windows 7?

If so, you can download windows 7 from the link below, it will be an ISO file which can be burned to DVD as an image. Be sure to download the correct version (Home or pro) and language.

  • After signing to Windows 10 free upgrade and if windows 7 or 8 re-installed will still get 10 free upgrade Windows.

    Hi friends.

    I'm new to this forum.

Wanted to know, had recently windows flash 10 indicator of free upgrade. Registered for it but for some reason, I need to reinstall my Windows 7 64 bit SP1.

After re-installation of Windows 7 after 3 days as I have not received flag upgrade windows 10 on my system tray.

So I would like to know, if I get the upgrade windows free 10 when it is available.

    Concerning

    C.

There is no need to "reserve" anything.  This is purely marketing share MS to "encourage" users upgrade.  They will be happy to pass any OS eligible in the first year for free, and it will remain free for the life of the device when it was released on July 29

There will be some ISO available when win 10 is out July 29

  • Dell windows 7 free upgrade

Hey has any who actually received the update to windows 7? I bought my laptop on 10 July and my service tag not yet in the database dells. It has been good for 10 days. After many calls to dell the thing only customer service can tell me to wait 10 days until after my purchase date. Well, it was good for 10 days. How people even got an order placed. I see that this expedition dates back to the people who are a few orders how magically for after January, so I guess that I will never see my free upgrade? I think I need to communicate with the news and bring it to the report on this case. Seems similar to how they have deceived the people by pretending to have service on-site the next business day when she takes 5 days in my experience. Now I promised an update and I have until January to claim, but every attempt of saying me he's telling me I have to wait 10 days. Thank you were wrong me once again dell.  A bunch of liars and crooks.

  • T500 Windows 7 free upgrade

    Hello

I'm in Australia, I received the Windows VISTA Home Premium with my machine. Rather crappy I must say, most of my memory of 2 GB is used for purposes of system and more disk access never stops. I tried to disable the superfetch, Defender, search and indexing with no difference. I finished rebuilding the machine with Windows 7 RC. I saw that there are offers Lenovo U.S. free upgrade to Windows 7 when it is finally released. Is there a similar model in Australia as well. Lenovo and Microsoft will get to collect and exit for all VISTA Windows 7 clients?

    See you soon,.

    Max.

I don't have my copy of Windows7 and I just had to pay for shipping.

  • Pavilion SLimline s5-1554: can I stop the Windows 10 "free" upgrade does not happen?

I installed upgrading Windows 10 and worked well for a while. I accidentally uninstalled an update to the Intel driver and a few other programs and restarted the computer. He returned and said he had to do anther windows update - when he finished he stops. I turned again once and nothing. 2 fans to run and it sounds like HARD disk drives to start - but is not complete. Answer sheet Virgin screen, no keyboard or mouse. I went through trouble shooting HP together, removed battery CMOS, popped it (got the blue power lights come back), but still nothing else.

Read another forum, I see where the free update to win 10 raises motherboards FRY as Μatx H-Joshua H61, 696233-001 motherboard may not consider them.  I wonder if I replace the motherboard, reload the original OS (I already bought the recovery disks from HP that I thought it was my original problem) Windows 8, if everything will be ok.

I want to stop the automatic upgrade to win 10 again will fry the motherboard.

Any thoughts or the next steps for action or other help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Greetings,

I can barely stomach having a motherboard to fry due to an upgrade of the operating system.

I guess it's possible, and if it is true, maybe it's time for a class action. You can contact MS support but they will blame HP.

Was the Intel one driver graphics driver? Use the integrated graphics card?

If so, you have a slot PCIex16 2.0. Buy a graphics card to modestly low price profile, plug it into the slot.

If you added discreet graphics then remove the card and try the graphics card integrated.

Start the PC. You can get the video.

The motherboard has USB 2.0 supports so pulling the battery and reset CMOS using the jumper pins should correct the problems of USB 2.0.

This nifty little program, never 10, stops Win 10 upgrades.

You must use the same motherboard model, that you now if you want to install Windows using the HP recovery kit. The motherboard must be tattooed by HP or HP Recovery kit will fail.

First try the graphics card option.

    See you soon!

  • HP Pavilion G6 series: reset my laptop HP Pavilion G series after Windows 10 free upgrade...

I got the upgrade for the free update to Windows 10 on my laptop and restarting the first time I noticed that all the icons and background were gone, and the only thing on the black screen was my Advanced System Care Pro Performance Monitor that is always pinned on the desk by chance, since it is the only way to restart my computer now. I have to restart my laptop 3 times until all the icons appear on the screen, then I have about 5-10 seconds quickly hitting the new button start Windows and then the settings button and quickly reached the Firefox Logo that works also fortunately still. As soon as I get these two things open the icons and background stay for a little longer (maybe 20-30 seconds) then the back ground and icons and apps start flashing in and out in what I guessed only is two operating systems compete because I can open only some things in the settings menu as (which is grayed out) Device Manager and when you click top made appear an error which reads on a missing element, well that, if the icons are still flashing the Device Manager will turn black and I am able to click on it, but I have to me it just right when his blinker on black that I have to do in 20 seconds. Also, when I try to click on the Reset button this PC I can only click on it when the icons are flashing in this second 20-30 window so I have to get there quickly.  Firefox works normally at least. I posted my question and the advice of Microsoft Community, but nobody has yet tried to answer yet. I want to know if I reset the laptop will it reset with a Windows own 10? Will be the list of all the HP and almost all applications on the things in the computer to prevent it from working because my grandmother recently passed away and left me his laptop and there not all disks with him so I can't put all the apps back on if I re. I also have a runtime error when I unplug the power cord from the laptop.  I tried different things like Legacy, new AMD Radeon drivers driver download, all the drivers are up to date, start in safe mode, from modes of different startup with only startup apps, tried to manually disable applications from devices one by one, Manager and nothing has worked or changed what is happening. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You may need to read this.

    http://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/3az5z1/how_to_stop_windows_10_automatically_updating/

They say the automatic update of windows is to play with the display drivers (make them back off?) and the solution is to disable the auto update for this device driver using the method they provide and install the latest driver for windows 10 of the manufacturer.

Insofar the restetting your pc - I have another machine and normally I will try "Refresh" through the RECOVERY WIZARD HP first before resetting and lose all my documents - if you can access the settings in windows 10 - go to 'update & security' and select «recovery' and then 'get started' below «return to windows xxxx»

That's all I have to offer you at this stage

I want to get rid of Parallels 10, like all they want is to get continually updated (and pay about $60-$70 (Aus).

You send an email no AppleCare, you pick up the phone and call them and talk to a real human being. However they will not be taken in charge of Parallels. I suspect that you can contact the Parallels developers to migrate your Windows Info.
