  Try the following.

  Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

  One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

  When you are finished, download and reinstall the Chipset driver from the link below.

  Chipset Driver - Windows 7.

  After reinstalling, shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

  Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

  Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

  the sound on my Pavilion dv7-6b55dx has suddenly stopped working. External speakers work not at all and has failed the test tone. The headset works sometimes - for ex: I can play the same youtube video and audio work once and then again not at all.

  HP support system had run the updates from the previous night (I turned off computer later) so I wonder if this could be a problem?

  Go into the Control Panel, programs & features - software uninstall IDT. Reboot the laptop and install using the downloaded file.

  Since I've upgraded to Windows 7 Pro on my HP Pavilion (dv7 - 1223ca), several keys on my keyboard have not been working properly. I've upgraded and downgraded my computer several times, and this has not happened before.   Both are Acer Aspire laptops. We have AMD, another, intel. AMD, one died, leaving behind my harddrive perfectly well with all my stuff on this subject. The intel we get my hard drive (from AMD). This works. Only problem: USB ports do not work. Not at all. If I look in Device Manager... There is a label of warning exclaimation on my video display (error code 12. Yet there are a lot of free resources)... and a crapload of all listed Universal Serial Bus ports, with this warning symbol but error code 37. I've exhausted all options on how to 'fix' my problem... but a little problem... I have not met my problem as a whole.   Your post is confusing.

  You trying to start in and use the hard disk and the operating system out of the device in a more recent machine broken?

  If so, you cannot legally install and boot into hard drives and their operating systems that have been transferred to another machine, unless you are licensed by the retail, which would require a reinstall anyway for the reasons listed below in my response.

  The two Acers have preinstalled OEM licenses of operating system on them and these licenses are tied to the original machine and are not transferable.

  .

  And the hard drive that came out the breakage of the machine has drivers for the motherboard, etc of the broken machine, not the newer machine.

  So you will be naturally enough have problems of recognition of hardware, including USB controllers, etc.

  And don't you can't change drivers in the old hard drive and the old operating system.

  I suggest that you save your data from the old hard drive and then use it to store data in the newer machine.

  The person who took my hard drive works perfectly on my old laptop and put it in my new body of laptop is a licensed computer technology. He thought that it should not be a problem even if the chip inside the new case was a pentium from intel.

But, the 'graphics card' intel (R) 4 series express chipset family had an error code 12 'lack of resources to operate this view"in Device Manager.   The speakers on my Hp Pavilion DV7 - 3164cl have stopped working. The only time sound works when I use headphones or connect the computer to my tv. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the IDT High Definition Audio Codec (Version 6.1.6345.0 driver) and the device high definition Audio ATI (Version 5.0.7000.6 driver) to my computer via the Device Manager. I've recently updated the HP support program for my computer, but even when I tried to do a system restore it does not solve the problem.  I'm starting to think it could be a problem of faulty wiring, but I don't know how to fix this. Any ideas?

  My HP Pavilion dv7-6c02sm has 2 USB USB 3.0 ports on the left site of my laptop. Currently, I installed these "sp55102" driver - Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 host controller driver

  When I connect my WD 1 TB USB3.0 ports chip I just get the message that he could run faster if I connect through a Super speed USB3.0.

  I tried all ports and all give me the same answer. I googled for a manual and myself made sure that my USB 3.0 are on the left side. And ports give me the same notification so I think it will be a driver problem. Could not find a better then sp55102.

  When I copy files, the left USB ports work at a lower rate than normal USB 2.0 on the right side.

  On the side USB 2.0 right arround 25 Mb/s and the left a USB 3.0 starts at 25 and plunges in 13-15 Mb/s

  I formatted my drive and installed new firmware for my external hard drive, but it does not solve my problem so I'm pretty sure it's a driver issue, but I can't find a more suitable, more recent and better driver.

  Ok... I've solved the mystery

  After hours hours of research online I thought that it is mostly a problem of windows 7 because windows updates are not installed to the end. In the end only USB worked with 3.0 but there was an optional windows update install and atfer install the optional update (which is dealing with something) the two USB 3.0 working at a speed of 120 MB/s

  Also, you should check your chipset on the following link

  If you use the latest version on the drivers to install Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 host controller driver. I found this to be the last version USB3.0_allOS_2.1.28.1_PV

  
  So if anyone has the same problems with his speed USB3.0 and make the message "this device can perform faster if you connect it to a Super speed usb 3.0" is really the solution. You need to update your system with windows update and by that I mean, you want to be rushed to insatll everything to the system and upgrade your windows to the possible limit maximum!

  I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook and issues with the USB ports on 10 newly installed Windows. Here is a link to solve the USB connections.

  I would like to uninstall all listed in the universal serial bus controllers list.

  Please note remove any and all USB devices and remove the memory card in the slot of the card reader. Disconnect all non-essential devices before you uninstall the controller Universal serial bus.

  Restart your computer, and then insert the USB device.

  You can try to use the Windows Update Troubleshooter to fix updates that do not come through Windows 10.  Please restart the laptop twice to make sure that all updates are completed!
