Pavilion dv7: relocate Windows 10

I got windos 10 on my machine, because it was available for the upgrade. I left to go for a walk, came back and found my computer reupdating to windows 10.

What is c?

Maybe this isn't windows 10, but the screen is exactly the same and says "Updating windows" with a circle with one percent in the centre and said that it will restart several times. This is exactly what windows 10 upgrade looked like.

Am I missing something?

Hello

It looks like the Windows version 1511 November 10 update - see Microsoft article at the following link.

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-GB/Windows-10/Windows-Update-FAQ

You can always check that this is the case when the update is complete and you are back on the desktop - hold down the Windows key and press R.  In the run box, type winver , and then press ENTER.

Kind regards

  • HP Pavilion dv7-6135dx: windows 7 resettled after upgrading Windows 10

    Hello

I bought my computer in 2011 at Bestbuy. In this computer factory settings had various applications, HP, HP Recovery manager, etc.

Recently, last week my computer was attacked by malware and therefore, I had to restore my computer by using the recovery HP (Rebecca.exe) Manager. Meanwhile, windows offered to updgrade to 10 Windows. My computer is compatible, and that's why I decided to upgrade. Unfortunately, Windows 10 did not work too well with my computer, and so I contacted Windows Support team. They have reinstalled Windows 10 in my machine and remove the function back to Windows 7.

Support of Windows 10 team could not solve the problems in my computer. I then asked to downgrade to windows 7. With their downgrading to Windows 7, I had to get all the drivers to make my computer function again. However, I do not have original HP and Applications settings my computer had when I first bought the computer.

Is it possible to install all the parameters of HP and Apps? I tried to install HP Recovery Manager, however, when I do, it says "Softpaq does not apply to the system, no installed HP Manager."

Help, please! My computer is running slowly. What should I do?

The best way to make your PC work again in Win7 is to do a factory restore using the HP recovery media.

It is a set of DVD and a CD or a USB key, which will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs.  You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.

It's the HP for your PC product page: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-dv7-6100-Entertainment-Notebook-PC-series/5082216/model/5118973

Down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click on the symbol '+' to expand this entry and click on order to press for more details.

Don't forget to read through the material in the linked thread before attempting the recovery: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00707939

    Good luck

  • Impossible to add an external monitor or adjust the brightness of the screen: Pavilion dv7-4031TX (Windows 7)

    Hello

I recently replaced both hard drives of HDD2K12, which meant I had to re-enstall Windows 7. Since that time, I have no options more in using an external monitor or even the brightness of the screen. The computer does not recognize the monitor when I Plug and all my drivers are up to date.

Can you make suggestions that could help to solve these two problems?

    Kind regards

    Peter

Thanks to find the links but I could not find the drivers I need for a Pavilion dv7-4031TX.

However I finally managed to fix the problem. Let me summarize what has been my problem.

    (1) I could not adjust the brightness of the screen by using the function keys f2 and f3.

    (2) I couldn't find the brightness slider if it was generally... i.e. (control Panel\Hardware and Options of Sound\Power)

    (3) my laptop would not recognize an external monitor.

    How I solved the problem:

    1 > pass.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-95107-1 & CC = in the & DLC = in & LC = on & os = 4063 & Product = 4253423 & sw_lang =

and go to the graphics driver and download the graphics driver and follow the directions. At the end of the installation you will be asked to restart the computer.

0nce you have restarted your computer, you should be able to adjust the brightness of the screen using the fn keys or the brightness slider in the window 'power Option '.

    2 > Activting 2nd monitor

Click on Device Manager... At start-> right click on 'Computer' and click 'properties '. Click on "Device Manager". Now click on "monitors".

Now connect the exernal monitor to your laptop while watching where the monitor icon appears under "monitors". It should appear as 'Generic PNP monitor'.

Now, right-click on it and select "update driver software... "then search automatically for updated drivers. Install the new drivers. You should see the generic 'PNP monitor' name change to another name.

3 > restart your computer. You should find that after doing all this, you should be back to normal.

I tried the Intel Chipset drivers on the HP download site for my laptop. I also tried the x 64 drivers from the Intel website: http://downloadmirror.intel.com/24293/a08/f6flpy-x64.zip.

I tried with the original hard drive in and Windows 7 does not recognize either.

    Hi all

Because I updated the OS to Windows 7, the remote control for windows media center does more work. I am now running a windows 7 Ultimate 64B on a Pavilion DV7 - 1038ca.

    Exactly on each charge.

You can only switch to a faster C2D processor

You can not upgrade your video from your PC card do not have a video "map.

He has a GPU chip soldered to the motherboard. Good behaviour, punch.

Yes, the motherboard will together be replaced most likely came from a more recent model dv7 and it probably wouldn't fit there may be another provision or ports.

The solution, if you are not ready to live within the limits of your laptop current, is to buy a new one with everything you want there.

  • Hello, I have a pavilion dv7-1135nr windows 7 BIOS F21. should I upgrade to version F49?

Currently, I do not feel any computer of hmy wit problems, but my version of BIOS F21 is obsolete. There is a BIOS more recent version F49. Should I upgarde to the last version or upgrade if I'm having a related problem BIOS?

    Thank you

    Hello:

Due to the risky nature of the BIOS flashes, it is unadvisable to Flash the BIOS just to have the last update.

It's one of those moments where you definitely need to have the attitude: 'if it's not broke, don't fix it."

What I recommend you do is to read all the BIOS release notes and see if one of them contains improvements you would like to have, or solve a problem you are experiencing.

If this is not the case, do not.

If you feel you want to Flash the BIOS, I recommend to download the flash and then restart your PC in safe mode of windows install.

In this way there is less running processes that may interfere with an update of the BIOS.

The biggest threat is your antivirus program.  Good A / V programs will think a BIOS flash is writing malicious code in your BIOS and try to stop the program from running.

That would cut the power to your PC in a flash.

The risk is high. A failed BIOS flash 99% of the time, you hear a useless PC.

  • HP Pavilion dv7-Recover Windows 7 without the disc

I reinstalled windows 7 Home premium on my machine, using the same number as provided with the laptop (I found the serial number by downloading software that has scanned my computer and told me what it was).

After you install windows, he told me that it was not authentic. I guess that's because it wasn't a version of Windows that brings together everything HP software pre-loaded on it. My hard drive still has a "recovery" partition, but I have no idea what to do with it, or even if I can do something with it more.

So, how can I make my Windows 7 Home premium authentic? Do I have to reinstall another version of windows 7 Home premium with the included HP software? Where can I find this download? Because I don't have a recovery disk, can I use this partition "recovery" of my hard drive to something?

Thanks in advance for the help.

    Hi crabbattle,

The key for the original version on your PC only works with OEM of Windows versions.  You will need to use the key provided with the retail version of Windows you purchased, or use recovery on the PC software.

You can access recovery by using the F11 key to the course of priming or order of the HP discs.  There is more info of recovery here.
