Pavilion g6-2212sa > 64-bit Windows 8 > No. Audio devices are installed

Hi all

I followed the steps in the HP support site to use Windows troubleshooting guide to solve the problems with the audio:

http://i.imgur.com/p7BDHqX.PNG

I updated to the latest driver, audio driver, but there is no device installed

http://i.imgur.com/IWNVef0.PNG

Downgrade to the old version driver does not solve the problem either.

I also used the HP Recovery Manager to make sure that I had the original version installed.

I do not have a restore point previous to return.

I had the version of BIOS F.25, followed the advice in this thread installed driver
sp55036.exe and also flashed my bios to f.22 (which was at that time, I bought the laptop)

Any advice / help appreciated.

Hello decojdj,

I understand that you have a problem with your files - audio, this exact? I'll try to help you.

Have you tried to do a Refresh, which does not harm your files or your custom settings.

Also if you use headphones still do audio?

Please answer as soon as possible.

Thank you

  • 64-bit windows 7, I was able to install my programs probably 3 20 I used before, why is this? Ive tried the 64-bit versions designed for windows 7 and I tried compatibility modes.

I don't really have much to say... ive got 64 bit and ive tried almost everything I can. Some examples of what I can't install that are designed to work for it: itunes, logitech g19 keyboard drivers, Alex Feinmans iso recorder. also one of my cd drives doesn't let me do anything, like install stiff from a disc or copy a cd, if theres encryption at all. my other cd drive not... Skype does not, or ventrillo. Steam and all games run so far, and crysis works but its editing tools only and designed for 64-bit only. I don't like windows 7 and I do not think that its faster, but what's the point of speed if I can't run anything?

Drivers are specific, because 64-bit drivers are needed for 64-bit and X 86 (32-bit) systems drivers for this type of system.  X 86 applications run well on 64-bit if it does not involve drivers and software. You seem rather unlucky or unhappy.  What could have been encrypted by another user on another machine will most likely depending on what type of encryption, you talk about the problems.

Often the trick to get installed programs is to right click on the configuration file and select the "Run as Administrator" option.  Another often overlooked trick is to disable temporarily the scanner in time real and other similar programs during installation.

  • "No Audio device is installed" in Windows Vista.

Back in September 2011, I lost mysteriously my audio. I have a red X on my "speaker" icon in my system tray. When I put the cursor on the "speaker" icon, I get this message "No Audio Device Installed. I went to HP customer web page and found the audio driver: Realtek High Definition Audio Version 6.0.1.5548 (sp37324.exe). I downloaded the program and recorded on my download folder. I put a shortcut to it on my desktop. The only way I can get sound whenever I turn on my computer I click with the right button on the desktop shortcut and run as an administrator and install the program. Turn on my sound. It works as long as I keep the computer. Whenever I restart the computer I'm back for the red X on the "speaker" icon.

Now, Windows Update sent me (on 3 occasions the last two weeks) a update "option"... Realtek High Definition Audio. Every time I have download and install and do a restart, but I get the same red X on the "speaker" icon. It's Ground Hog Day!

My question: is it safe to uninstall the Realtek High Definition Audio driver and reinstall the sp37324.exe without totally send my audio into a black hole? BTW, I don't have a recovery disk.

I hope that someone on this forum can help me. I've exhausted all remedies.

Alto! It worked. I uninstalled the Realtek Audio (in Device Manager), did a reboot and the computer does the repair (reinstalled audio) itself. I didn't have to manually reinstall.

    1 million thanks!

You must install the Bluetooth software and driver for the bluetooth model you have which would be identical to the wireless card you have.

  • Can I use a product key UPGRADE from 32-bit Windows 7 to a new clean install of Windows 7 64-bit?

In 2009, I upgraded my laptop from Vista to Windows 7 32 bit. This laptop recently died and is no longer in use.

I am building a new computer and I want to install it on Windows 7 64 bit (there no initial operating system because it is a made to measure machine).
Can I install Windows 7 64 bit on the new machine and then use the old product key, that I received in 2009, even though it was a upgrade for the 32-bit product key?

If its a version upgrade, the answer is no.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

  • Definition of default on 64-bit Windows 8 MIDI output device

Hello, I have a problem with the output device default MIDI on Windows 8 64 bit on a dv6 HP Envy that I picked up yesterday. I read in many places that the default MIDI output is somehow locked in Windows 8, and I have read on the registry keys have no effect when changed manually:

    \Default HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ActiveMovie\devenum\ {4EFE2452-168A-11D1-BC76-00C04FB9453B} MidiOut device
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ActiveMovie\devenum 64-bit\{4EFE2452-168A-11D1-BC76-00C04FB9453B}\Default MidiOut device
However, I have a piece of software that DOESN'T seem to be able to change the default output MIDI, VirtualMidiSynth of CoolSoft. It seems to pass the device of an option in the installation dialog box that sets the default output of the synth CoolSoft. When I install the program by selecting this option, I am able to use programs that can send to the default output device (there no option to send to anything else; I wrote the code for these programs, so I know for certain) and they send an exit to the new synthesizer rather than the synthesizer MS-provided. When the CoolSoft synth is uninstalled or installed without the option to change device selected, the MS Synthesizer is still used. From there I understand it must be possible to change the default MIDI device output. Clearly the two above keys have no effect, since I tried to change several times and even restarted between changes. So my question is: what other registry keys or other system in Windows 8 parameters are responsible for which allows the default device to change MIDI output?

Guys, I finally found something that works.  At least for me... http://www.benryves.com/products/vistamidi even if it is called Vistamidi, I'm under Windows 8 Pro.  I right click on it and run as administrator.  Now, the output will my MIDI keyboard!  It took altogether thirty hours in the last 2 years to understand that.  If all goes well, I can save you from this same experience.
