Pavilion G7-1219wm: CPU replacement Pavilion G7

I own a renovated Pavilion G7, which has stopped working. The flashing light code indicates a failure of the CPU. Is it possible for me to replace it? I think the answer is no because of what I was able to google that shows his soddered on the mb, but thought I'd ask. Thanks for any help!

    Hello

After a few months I bought this laptop, I noticed high temperatures on CPU (70 + degrees celsius).

2 years have passed and my cpu temperature is now 110 + degrees celsius.

I put new thermal paste and cleaned the dust components because it was stop from overheating. It stops now now but the temperature is always 100 C + according to speccy.

Is it possible to upgrade the processor and that model, or is it better to just buy the new laptop?

    Thank you

Yes, the processor can be upgraded to a 10 - 4600M. Your A6 is actually the lower end of the spectrum for the g7-2000 series.

However, a more powerful processor is only going to running more hot, unless the heat is caused by the stress you place on it that case the A10 could be able to manage better. Laptops at base of AMD just tend to run hot and based on my personal preference, I've avoided them for the past 10 years or so. Computers laptops Intel can be very hot, too, but we just don't see as many problems. The A10 - 4600M cpu is not terribly expensive ($50 or less) and if you've been inside the laptop to work on the cooling system so that you know how to do the replacement. Personally, I think hard on a new laptop but I see also try just A10 processor on luck, it will run more fees. The A10 is packed with slightly better graphics APU then you would see an improvement if you play games on it.

If you do the upgrade remember to apply the thermal compound sparingly, just for the heart of processor and don't forget to clean the fan blades with a cleaner like rubbing alcohol.

  • Bad CPU replacement

    Hi all

I have a dead cpu laptop with following:

    Laptop HP Pavilion dv7 - 4264ca
    Serial number: CNF10367P3
    Product number: lk326ua

Since this happened, I was looking for an alternatite cpu,

    I came across these 2:

    AMD A8 - 3530MX 2.60 GHz processor

    and

    AMD APU A8-3820

Either would work for the jury?

    I think different.

I don't know much on AMD processors, so I can't say with certainty.

Ask AMD. I'm sure they can let you know if it of the same or not.

  • Presario CQ61 - 410SQ CPU replacement

    Hello

I have a laptop Compaq Presario CQ61-410SQ and recently my CPU stopped working. I was wondering if I can change it and I found this CPU is compatible: AMD Athlon II Dual - Core M320 2.1 GHz CPU AMM320DB022GQ

    Thank you!

How do you know that the CPU no longer works? It's much, much more likely to be the motherboard.

    You will need this anyway:

And Yes, the processor you mention is one who fits on your motherboard and will work on the assumption that the motherboard is good. See Page 1-1.

  • The Pavilion p7-1010 upgrade do I need a new motherboard?

    HP Pavilion p7-1010 product No.BV703AA Windows 7 64-bit

Hey, I just got this computer for christmast but I really want to convert it to a gaming computer.   I have done some research and there are 3 things I want to buy this.

    These products are:

    Sapphire 100314 - 3L Radeon HD 6870 video card

    Processor AMD FX-8120 FD8120FRGUBrOX

    Corsair Builder Series CX600 V2

I looked at the information for my motherboard and when I went to the p7-1010 homepage he said as an important step, it only supports AM3 processors, and the CPU I want is AM3 +.   I want to know if I absolutely need a new motherboard, and if yes, which is the most effective price and if you have any other suggestions on the material, I should get, my budget is around $ 500-600.

    Hello

I do not recommend a CPU replacement at this time.  Go with the video card and POWER supply upgrades and then see if your applications are starved for cycles CPU.

This pass benchmark CPU mark shows your current processor.

You should be able to run AMD 1045-1065T in your PC if necessary.  Much will depend on whether your applications can take advantage of more than four cores.

    Hello

One way to test if there is a problem with the display board is to connect the laptop to an external display and see if you get video output.

If you do not need to get the CPU replaced, the best advice I have is to find a local computer repair shop and get an estimate (and to confirm the diagnosis) for the cost of the repairs it.

Usually, the HARD drive password should work after the replacement of the motherboard.
The fact is that the HARD drive password is stored in a special area of the HARD drive and should not be an issue this motherboard has been replaced.

    CPU replacement

Hello!  I replace the CPU in my HP P6310F.  According to this literature, http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01949155 , I have an AMD Phenom II X 4 Quad-Core 9xx/9xxe/8xx (Deneb).  My understanding has always been that "9xx" means any phenom II in the class of the 900 series.

I bought a retail Phenom II X 4 965 Black Edition, part HDZ965FBGMBOX number, installed and get the error message: CPU support is not installed message.  After searching and reading about the error message and other messages, it seems it might be due to the 'black edition' and/or because it is 125 watts.  It was the answer to a few others in the same situation as me.

Can you please tell me why this CPU is not compatible and please help me with a list of compatible CPU?

This is also in the 9xx series, but is it at 125W

    HDZ955FBK4DGM AMD Phenom II X processor 4 955 - Quad Core, 6 MB of Cache L3, 2 MB L2 Cache, 3.20 GHz, Socket AM3, 125W, fanless, OEM

This lies in the 9xx series and is 95W

AMD HDX945WFGIBOX Phenom II X 4 945 Quad Core Processor - 3.00 GHz, 6 MB of Cache, bus front to 2000 MHz (4000 MT/s), retail, Socket AM3, processor with fan

The stock processor is an AMD Athlon II X 4 630, 95W

I can provide any other information you may need, thank you very much!

There is no AMD Black Edition CPU that are compatible with any PC HP desktop.

That's what the problem is related to. Black Edition CPU are special processors who have discovered the multipliers for amateur quality motherboards. You could not access the multipliers to overclock the CPU with the motherboard you have installed it anyway.

Even if you choose, buy and install one of the microprocessors in maintenance & service Guide there is no guarantee HP which will be exploited.

You should also be aware that installing a different CPU than your office has been delivered with the warranty.

    Sorry to bear bad news.

The good news is that the processors listed in the maintenance department & guide reputable reports of upgrade in discussions in the forum, to run.

    Best regards

  • ESXi 5 not recognizing cpu Intel Q6600 with 4 cores

    Howdy all,

I tried to solve this problem for about a month now, even bought a CPU replacement that concerns me that I got too old 'default' Core2 Duo.

In any case; I had a work ESX installation I know I upgraded to 5 (until I made a stupid mistake with an rm command and the base of a hypervisor folder - I was looking in the driver files, curiosity etc..). I am now questioning my own sanity as well as the idea that I had updated it beyond 4.1, I was sure that... but I digress again. I tried reinstalling already installing a larger hard drive and ESX is installed and then "moved" my VM to host data store. However whenever I try to install ESX, it recognizes more than one heart... It's driving me crazy! In the vSphere Client summary inventory I "processor Sockets: 1" and "Core per Socket: 1"...» I'll try this weekend with a hard drive from a work ESX install another motherboard... However I prefer not having to buy new parts/server this time until I'm sure that my classes are defective.

All the advice offered to get my installation re-run would be welcome...

    Thanks in advance,

    4lan

    A few things to try.

    • Reset the BIOS to factory default and re - apply date/time and startup preferences.
    • Try a new installation to update ESXi 5 1 on another drive and see if anything shows up properly
    • Try to restore the bios to 2001 or in 1901.
  • Question on change of processor satellite 1800-100

Al first of all, Hello to everyone. I have a Satellite 1800-100 with a celeron 800 mhz CPU.
I have from another DESKTOP PC, a PENTIUM III 700, and I want to improve my toshiba with this processor. I probed this celeron 800 mhz CPU during this work computer desk 1 year ago and it's because the processor of this Satellite is not a special mobile chip, with less power, etc.. It s a normal desktop CPU.

But I want to install the 700 mhz PENTIUM III CPU inside the laptop, but...
What I have to change the jumpers in the 1800-100 motherboard to install the 700 mhz pentium III or this motherboard is able to auto-detection of the processor type and automatically configure itself.

    Hello

Usually CPU replacements on laptops are not compatible and it s still a very risky game. It can happens that laptop does not work properly or will not
In any case, I discovered that the Satellite 1800 series supports a Pentium III or Celeron processor.

    This processor can be used:
-Basic operation of processor Pentium III with a clock internally 750/800/850 MHz, 100 MHz bus, and 1.70V
-Internal basic operation of processor Pentium III with a clock of 1000 MHz, 100 MHz bus and 1.75 v

-Basic operation Celeron processor with a clock internal 800 MHz, 100 MHz bus and 1.70V
-Basic operation Celeron processor with a clock internal to 700/733/766 MHz, 66 MHz bus and 1.70V

    > What I have to change the jumpers in the 1800-100 motherboard to install the 700 mhz pentium III or this motherboard's power auto detect CPU type and auto configure itself.
To my knowledge, it should start automatically. You do not need to change anything.

But note; I m not 100% sure that you'll be able to remove the CPU because the CPU can be welded on the map.
