  I have a hp pavilion dv6-3078tx an Australian model as im an aussie. Overheating, constantly while playing games may be a good 30-45 minutes on the games graphics of the art after that I have lower the graphics a bit. I have a hard drive 301 error which is a failure and apparently my laptop is going to die soon. I was wondering if the hard drive error is why my laptop is overheating. Ive also got a battery error internal 601 I think battery main error. These problems are my laptop overheating. IHAVE a cooling pad, but there is no help.

  I have a HP Pavilion laptop model # dv6-2043us, product # VM285UA #ABA with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. It came with a Toshiba model # MK3256GSY, 320 GB 7200 RPM 16 MB Cache SATA 2 Hard Drive. I want to upgrade this drive to a 750 GB Western Digital model WD7500BPKT # 7200 RPM 16 MB Cache SATA 3.0 Gbit / s hard.

  The BIOS will recognize that new drive 750 GB and the system recovery DVD will restore the original software on this new 750 GB drive?

  Yes it should not be a problem. The BIOS will not limit the size of a SATA hard drive and the recovery disc will work on a drive as large or larger than the original. You can also duplicate the old drive to the new or just use Windows Easy Transfer to create a 'migration' file that will restore your settings and files to the new drive after putting Windows on it.   Do a hard reset:

  1 disconnect all devices and remove all USB devices and multimedia cards.
  2 disconnect the power adapter, remove the battery and then press in and hold the button for at least 1 minute.
  3 reconnect the power adapter (do not connect the battery), press the power button and check is your problem is resolved or not.

  I tried everything suggested the message above. In addition, performed the break-in & Test at startup, who succeed. However, the Test of hard drive breaks down whenever he reaches 5% rapid test.

  As it is physically soldered to the motherboard, there is no practical way of updating the graphics chip.  There are many other problems even if you could find someone with the necessary experience to replace the chip, like being able to disperse out of the increase in the heat of a more powerful chip and have to change the bios so that this chip is recognized.

  Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I've read your threads on your HP Pavilion Notebook dv6-3073 ca and crashing after a few minutes of games. Here is a link to overheatingas it may be the cause of the closure. If the laptop has dust on the fans it might be overheating graphics card. If this does not help at the end of this document it tells you to do a test equipment.

  I use a laptop A3E82AV product name. After upgrading 8.1 wireless F12 key does not work when I hibernate & resume. If I retart or shutdow, it works normally. When I was with Windows 7 (OEM), it worked normally.

  I am currently using the latest version of the driver for HP wireless button 1.1.2.1

I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion Notebook dv6-7000 and issues with the F12 key after and 8.1 of Windows upgrade. This is a link toHP Quick Launch software. It is under Software Solutions on your driver page.

  It will help with the F12 key.

  Make sure that all updates have been met with Windows it is under change PC settings. It is enough to click on the Windows key and start typing the laptop settings.
