Pavilion HP or want? : enter the College which laptop would be best

This fall I'm going to College as a freshman. My Hp is about 6 years old and I need an upgrade.
I want to wthing that is fast, reliable and can run for everything and anything, because after all, I'm a student.
I also like the programs of the window if I want to stay with that. I read a little about the flag and think it's a great computer, but I have also heard that envy can be even better. There are so many different computers that I don't know what would be best.

Here's what I look for in a computer:
Will be my laptop College
fast and reliable
Windows 8.1
Intel core i7 (preferred) or i5, as I head the core processors may be the best, but if something is better... better is always better.
touch screen

Aside from these, all features that can be handy for a student or could make the College Dorm and life program of studies/work load a little easier would be great to have a laptop.

Thank you very much for the time and thought that you put in my reply, it means a lot to me and it will be really appreciated.

Hello! Okay I found a laptop for you here, it's

  • Pavilion a1710n impossible to enter the BIOS from the put in new hard drive

I have a HP Pavilion a1710n desktop initially under Vista Home Premium.  Problem is hard disk came out, I then replaced with a hard drive Western Digital SATA of similar type.  However, now I am unable to enter BIOS using F10 or Escape or by pressing the F1 key turning on the PC.  When I tried to put Vista on the PC, it stopped and gave me an error 0 x 80070002; Lack of D:\Sources\Installation, which I do not know what it means exactly or how to fix it.  I had already updated the Vista Home Premium to Win7 Pro.  Given that the disc is a disc update of Win7, guess I'll have to reinstall Vista first and then update again to Win7 Pro?  At the moment everything I have on the PC is the new hard drive without any Windows operating system and my PC doesn't seem to be reading the new hard drive, I think, and in the Start Menu, it is shown as 3rd master drive and DVD is 2nd Master.  So what happened the 1st master?  No what should be my new hard drive?  I'm always so frustrated and of course, my PC is long out of warranty, although I tried calling support without much help I'm afraid.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello again patticat22,

Thank you for responding to my message. If I understand your reference Bravo you check to see if you can find a solution? If and it would be better to search for accepted Solutions because they are used to indicate that a solution has been found, where a Bravo must indicate appreciate for a position.

As for your question, I think it could be a drive for the failure of the installation that you have and recommend you order another set. I'm you provide a link to the HP Support document: looking for HP recovery discs or a USB HP recovery disk?, which has all the necessary steps to guide you through the ordering a new set of recovery disks. There may be a fee for ordering them, but I think this will solve your problem and get your computer back operational.

So you can try to use the HP support document: removing and replacing the CMOS battery, that you want to remove the battery (keep out 24 hours before putting it again) and put it back. This should clear your BIOS and reset back to factory. If the BIOS is still inaccessible after that, I think it would be best if you contacted technical support HP for repair options.

United States supports Contact link options HP products purchased in the United States.
Outside WE support link to connect with options for HP products purchased outside the United States.

Please re-post though I have well understood you or if you need additional support. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great weekend!

  • Pavilion dv6 7013 cl: about the computer hp laptop pavilion dv6 - 7013 cl/entertainment / it supports windows 10?

    Hello support,

Please, could you tell me is hp pavilion dv6 - 7013cl entertainment notebook 10 64-bit windows support, isn't even available all the drivers to download for windows 10 for hp pavilion dv6.

You have all your customer reviews, how fitting is hp pavilion dv6 7013 for windows 10?

    Thank you and best regards,

    Granite

I can only tell you my experience - when I tried to upgrade my hp DV6 and had Win10 fail and leave it in an unusable state.  I'm waiting for the recovery discs arrive at HP, so that I can restore and get back to work.

There is no Win10 at HP for the DV6 drivers - I checked.

Before the upgrade, I would say that it does not support Win10 - as their tool to check upgrade reported no hardware or software problem, and that my machine was ready to be upgraded.

But... This is obviously not true, or he would not have missed the upgrade.

The first service pack to Win10 (only they do not call it a service pack, they call it a Service Release) will come out this week.  So I would wait until the month next to the upgrade.

You are going to watch the Rebel series for interchangeable lenses and the T5i & T4i or 1All SL who have a sensor 18 megapixel. You can also search the EOS M (I did not any true reading on this subject).

There are good reviews here who can point you in the right direction that fits your needs better

The objective of the kit supplied with body of rebels would be a good start lens wise but I'm sure that you'll want to explore lenses more once you get pictures.

  • Why in the world a laptop would not come with a dvd player? This is the most stupid thing ever

I do not buy laptops often, it's only my second laptop computer purchase after having spent five years with an HP laptop. Was not the greatest, but it helped me to get through school and work. Now, I buy an acer because I heard a lot of people it's a great brand, but I'm quickly doubt that. Why? It is not a cd/dvd drive. Why in the world a laptop never would come without one? I'll come back this and am greatly disappointed with this brand. I did not and will not encourage anyone to buy an acer laptop.

  • HP Pavilion dv7 won't enter the BIOS. Anyone (Esc, F9, F10, F1, F2 etc.) on the key

    Hello

I have HP pavilion dv7, which leaves me not in the BIOS to change the boot order.

I have windows 8 32-bit installed and keep start normally any key (Esc, F9, F10, F1, F2 etc) at the beginning, is pressed or hold... it will not stop the boot and won't let me in the BIOS. All it does if the keys are pressed, it emits beeps but boot then anyway.

I want to boot from USB and install WIndows 8.1 64bits.

    Help, please.

    Thank you

This could help you as it solved my problem yesterday. I disabled quick start (or quick start) in the settings menu of your laptop. I have turned on one day, not knowing that it prevents you from all the boot options. I'm at work and do not have access to a large part of the internet, but google "disable fast boot windows 8 ' or 'disable' quickboot. There are quite a few Web pages that walk through it.

I am now able to access BIOS.

  • Desktop Pavilion 500-210 a: do press F10 to enter the BIOS? I would like to try Linux Mint via USB

    Hi, thanks for reading.

Am I right in thinking I have to get into the BIOS press F10? To get startup options?

I would like to try Linux Mint on USB I already created.

    Thank you very much.

    Anthony

    Anthony, welcome to the forum.

Yes, you start typing F10 as soon as the computer begins to start.  This will take you to the configuration of the BIOS page.  Then, search for the configuration of the boot order.

  • Pavilion 1303au g4: want to change my old laptop motherboard

    model:-HP pavilion 1303au g4

    Processor :-amd a4 3330mx

I want to change my laptop amd motherboard at intel we do not know what motherboard to choose also do not know where to get it can someone suggest me among the motherboards that can be mounted in my laptop.

    Hello

Did you know that doing it this way would cost you more to buy a new machine with similar specs right now? Because

    (a) you need new motherboard,

    (b) new CPU,

    (c) New fan, cooling system,

    ....

You will have to perhaps new RAM too. And work enormous cost.

    Hope it makes sense.

  • PC laptop Pavilion 15: how to fix the boot loop laptop HP Pavilion 15 (Winows 7, 8.1, 10)?

    Hello

A month ago I restared my laptop and it got stuck on a Windows loading screen (Windows 10). I thought it was windows problem and then reinstalled Windows 7. But after 1 day later, I face the same problem on windows 7. Then I changed from Windows to ubuntu, but the same problem. Today I went to a repair shop & technician said it's hard drive problem (but hard drive test result was good, no errors). Then he changed the disk HARD but same problem. He tried to install windows, but not of sone. Stuck on the loading screen.

    Please help me

A faulty memory stick could also cause this. Did you test memory? If you can deal with a bad sata controller on the motherboard.

  • Pavilion g6 2213sa: upgrade of the APU - computer laptop won't start

I recently bought an APU A10 - 5750M on eBay with the intention to replace the A8 - 4500M in my 2213sa. I saw some videos on YouTube of people doing this with HP laptops so I know it's possible, but for some reason any, that he doesn't let me do on this laptop.

    Why not?

Oh and just as a note, it's not because the motherboard was short-circuited or anything, because it lights up. Just died not much later. The display also lights.

Also, I put the old APU inside and it works very well with it there. As far as I know, there is not any new update of the BIOS for this laptop, so I don't know why it does not start.

It does not start because it is not compatible. You need A10 - 4600M.

    See p. 1:

    Repair manuals

You are invited to come here and ask what processors are compatible rather than Youtube.
