Try to format and do a clean install of Vitsa on an old my computer HARD drive at home to be placed in a new Tower. DVD starts up fine and then goes into an endless loop of the repair system that continues to check the c: / drive to find errors. Why is the installation does not start? I know that the folder c: / drive has Vista OS on it from my old compuetr. I want to wipe off immediately and start cleaning up.

original title: try to install clean vista

You must set your BIOS to start on the DVD from the beginning to the top.

You have a good DVD of Vista (OEM/upgrade or full version) and NOT only a recovery disk provided by the manufacturer of the PC (or you burn you).

For a DVD upgrade, follow the method here and make sure you format your HARD drive thanks to the tools of "advanced install" on the DVD.

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/68767-clean-install-upgrade-Vista.html

If you have a full version of Vista rather than a version upgrade then just do the first part of the above procedure.

  • How can I move the Virtual Mode of Windows XP hard drive to another drive

How can I move the Virtual Mode of Windows XP hard drive to another drive?

    TIA

    Hi Benyl,

The vhd in programfiles basis cannot be moved or renamed, if done, xp mode stops at the start.

To move the files under c, first to boot xp, instead of save mode the machine virtual., turn it off. (settings to prompt the user for action narrow close). Close the machine virtual., and then choose stop. This will remove the vsv file. Do not delete the .vsv file because it contains data if you have not registered in the virtual machine.

Now, move it "C:\Users\CHRIS.domainname\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows virtual PC\Virtual Machines\Windows XP Mode.vhd" to a desired location.

Parameters of xp mode open, go to the hard drive 1 setting and reposition the hard drive to the new location of the vhd. You should now be able to start the virtual machine.

    Here are two possibilities.

The first is on their site at http://www.fixcleaner.com/support.php#faq_sales and has the following (note that it says to close the application and the service):

"Uninstall FixCleaner is easily.» The first thing you need to do is to close the program. If the application is open, click on the X in the upper right to close. Then you close the service. Check the tray at the bottom of the screen and find the icon FixCleaner. Right click, and you will see an option to close the application.

Once the application has been completely closed, Open the Add/Remove Programs dialog box in Control Panel. From there, you can simply opt to uninstall FixCleaner, a process that should take less than one minute. "

The second is to start in SafeMode as shown here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110110114204AAd1PsM

  • HP Pavilion 15 laptop: Short hard drive DST check failure... once again.

A question that I had resolved a few months ago started occurring again, in which the laptop is struggling to load things when started and soon after falls down and has to be restarted. I guess that means that the hard drive has failed once again and so I have no doubt about how to solve this problem, but I write this query to ask: why? Why has a laptop, I had since not even a year at this stage has already had the same problem occur twice, even with the replacement of the piece that broke the first time? I am willing to assume that this is something to do with excessive I will admit that it is enabled for a good part of almost every day, often for several hours I play the games on Steam on it. Currently, I do not plan to have the hard drive replaced again because it is clearly an issue that will keep occurring that the way things are and if I can get a PC that won't break every time a gust of wind so it hits. Any information on why this happens and how it could potentially be avoided in the future is appreciated, especially if it offers a solution that doesn't involve payment of an exorbitant amount of money.

The worst enemy of hard drives is heat. If you play on a computer that is pushed to the limits of the game, a lot of it can wear on a hard drive for a few months. You get a lot of activity of fan during the game? A cooling pad may be an option, or on a computer box of Grandpa instead of a laptop for the games.

    Question:

The sound is fine as long as I don't nothing plug into the headphone jack. After I use headphones, whatever, the audio starts to go out of sync from the video. The video seems trolling of the audio in a few seconds.  The current patch I do is simply close the program with, either Chrome or a video player, then start it again. What tends to solve the problem sometimes, until it happens again. Built-in speakers have no question unless the helmet ruin the audio, then they begin to show the same effect. Also when the headphones are plugged and I put a video break and maybe go to another page for a bit and then come back to video, she became silent and the mixer Volume shows a Chrome icon doesn't produce any noise. When I restart Chrome, Chrome icon remains quietly on the volume mixer or it goes away and a new active icon in Chrome has taken its place. • Pavilion 17 laptop / J9M18: hard drive error

    Hard drive Diagnostics error; 608AJW-7AN88K-MFPV6K-60UK03.

I was using the pc and he hung up.  Rebooted and pc wouldn't do anything.  I ran the diagnostic of the configuration of F2 system and it gives the above error.  Is the drive toast or can it be saved.  I tried to load the system options on but it will not read the DVD, and only gives me an error.

    Hello

Just to be sure, is actually the error code 608AJW-7ANB8 K - MFPV6K - 60UK03?

If this is the case, it is a disk failure short self-test and would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disk replaced - if necessary, you can check the status of your warranty here.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

If you are out of warranty and would like a guide to replacing the hard drive yourself, please let me know - understand the complete model number and your 17 laptop Nr series - see here for an explanation.

Yes, they will make you return the old drive to get a new, so HP can get any credit machine hard drive (as applicable). Otherwise how do they know that the old is really bad? This is true of every computer manufacturer.

  • Charged computer hard drive Gateway laptop with Windows 7 and installed in the Dell computer. Now it says Windows is a counterfeit

my gateway labtop has been damaged so I removed the hard drive and installed in my dell requires a hard drive.  It worked great for about a month and now it tells me that I have a copy of windows conterifet.  When I bought the two all have windows 7 on them what make?  I can't afford to buy and I have not to?

When you buy a computer with a copy preinstalled Windows 7, it's the OEM version is good ONLY for the system with the original motherboard.  If you remove the hard drive and move to another computer, Windows 7 license is not good and cannot be enabled.  Please don't shoot the Messenger!  :-)

  • to replace my laptop HP HARD drive... help!

    Hello...

    I have Hp 2000 - 2202 you series Notebook.

I'm a difficulty as to the compatibility of the current HARD disk with the following drives: -.

1)WD Scorpio Blue 500 GB computer internal laptop hard drive (WD5000LPVT)

    • The Interface SATA 3.0 Gbps
    • 8 MB Cache
    • 5400 RPM spin speed
    • 2.5-inch form factor

2)Seagate Momentus 500 GB internal laptop hard drive (ST500LT012)

    • 2.5-inch form factor
    • 5400 RPM spin speed
    • The Interface SATA 3.0 Gbps
    • 16 MB Cache

    (3)internal hard drive WD Blue 500 GB laptop computer (WD5000BPVT / WD5000LPVX)

    • 2.5-inch form factor
    • The Interface SATA 3.0 Gbps
    • 8 MB Cache
    • 5400 RPM spin speed

I get a 7200 RPM drive, but if you buy one of those, get one with 16 meg cache. It will be more efficient. Western Digital and Seagate are now or will soon be the same company. Portable hard drives now come in versions 7 and 9.5 mm. Of 7mm are necessary to Ultrabooks and other portable thin and 9.5 mm discs do not fit into a slot of 7mm, but a 7mm disc can be used in place of a drive of 9.5 mm. The connections and the mounting holes are in the same location and the thin disk rises just a bit lower in the caddy.

  • Pavilion 15: check the DST short hard drive failed

My laptop is not starting, when I open it I get the hp logo then a black screen, when I did a fast system to test the short hard drive DST check failed with a page ID: PLW6J2-6SL88N-MFPWXG-60RR03 and a product ID: E2G95EA #ABV.

My main concern is the data stored on the hard drive what can I do to get the job of the laptop to not lose data?

Stop using the laptop. Replace the hard drive with a new one. Get a SATA to usb adapter to connect the old drive (which you will eliminate) to another computer to try to save the data. There is a good chance of data is still recoverable this way.

You must open the Windows disk management console, then format the drive for use in the system.  You can find more information on this process here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-format-hard-disk-partition#create-format-hard-disk-partition=windows-7
