  I already deleted database library as suggested by some of the forums, also disabled the media as a feature of Win 7, rebooted and then re-enabled it.  I also disconnected externally and restarted that as well, I'm also the same mistake with a cd in the cd drive as well.

It is shared to "everyone" correctly on the network... with the same settings/properties as internal drives. the other 2 computers XP can see the drive letter and the name of the external hard drive, but cannot access the drive. When I try to save the files on this disc of compuers XP, I get an access denied message. I have caontacted LaCie and they say it is a matter of win 7.

  I suggest you to make sure whether or not the disk is shared properties.

  (a) right click on the drive that you want to access.

  (b) click on the sharing tab.

  (c) click on share tab.

  (d) select user name or residential group you want to share with and click on the Add button.

  Method 2:
