Pavilion of locking up at shutdown

Hi, I am having my first ever problem with my laptop and I hope someone can help me solve this problem.

The laptop was closed using the usual routine hutdown and poster display "stop". It was assumed that the machine would be closed as usual and it was left for this jest.

The next day, when power was shot on scree display again the 'Stop' info and would not go beyond that.

The keyboard does not meet any entry at all if the Control Alt Delete combo does not get into the Task Manager.

I unplugged, turned on and off several times, but all to no success.

Please can someone help me with this problem. (As you can guess I'm not too computer savvy.)

Thank you very much for your attention, best regards, Mike

Hello

It's time to try a hard reset.

Remove the battery

Unplug the DC power adapter.

Press in and hold the button for 15 seconds or more and then release.

Connect the external DC power adapter connector to the laptop (leave the battery for now).

Press the power button.

Your laptop boot up to the Windows logon screen?

Best regards
ERICO

I have a Pavilion p6100f that locks in shortly after Win 7 64 bit lance.  According to me, the culprit causing blockages is a defective or if there is no heat sink.  I bought the entire radiator and fan (p/n 614946-001).  However, there are videos showing the removal and installation of the heatsink, or is there a documentation showing me how to install the heat sink.  I have thermal paste and the radiator ready to go.  Please advise as soon as possible.  Thank you.

If the pop-up messages, take a look to see if the fan is still running. If it is then that indicates a fan of sensor failure.

You said "your customer". That deducted that you may be a technician.

The following link goes to a replacement CPU tutorial. There is a brief description of how to remove the fan. It's actually pretty simple. It should help.

My HP pavilion laptop G6 locked out

    Hello

You don't mention which operating system you use, but if you normally sign - on with an email and password (Windows 8, 8.1 & 10), see if you can reset the password via another PC from the Microsoft page on the following link.

    https://account.live.com/password/reset

Otherwise, there is a general policy on the Forum do not provide methods to bypass the Windows log-on passwords, but a local computer store would be able to do it for you.

Another option, if all your personal data, etc. is saved, would be to reset the laptop to his "factory Condition" and then set it upwards from the beginning - if you do not have your recovery media, your laptop are shipped with a recovery Partition which is accessible at the start - that is to say stop the laptop, then start typing away at f11 as soon as you turn on.

A comprehensive guide on this can be found on the following link.

  • Pavilion Slimline lock up in sleep mode-fan works high not lights up unless I pull the power cord 1

New HP Pavilion Slimline desktop 400-314 - mode 'sleep' sometimes cause to lock the computer, the power light is on, the fan runs at the top.  Only way to unlock the computer is to hold the power button for 5 seconds.  I wait 15-20 seconds, then press the power button to wake it up.  Immediately the computer restarts to the top with solid power light and the fan turns at the top.  The only way to break this vicious circle must first pull the power cord to the rear, wait 30 seconds and plug it in again.  This time, when I turn on the computer it goes off just fine.

Is this a BIOS problem?  Please help as I don't have that much hair left.

    * Solved * Finally!  After 8 grueling days of pain staking agony and incessant attempts to fix this thing, I finally solved my problem.  I spent countless hours on the phone with HP support and nothing resolved.  That is: the problem with this computer locking up and sending the fan at high spin was due only with external speakers. When you reset the power system disconnected to boot the system, he would normally go for at least half a day before locking up.  I discovered that the speakers are older than 15 years. It's funny, these speakers worked fine on a desktop HP 2004 previous Pavilion running on Windows XP.  Now, it's static build-up that caused my death or something else?  As far as I know, it's that I'm a happy camper using headphones with a new system of HP that finally works.  Thank you to everyone who made suggestions.

  • Pavilion g6t locked up, while you sleep, when you close the lid, or try to power off

My Pavilion g6t crashes when the screen turns off, or computer goes to sleep, also is not out with stop-power function.  Power light stays on, only is to restart the computer to completely turn off with power button / stop, and then re login.   This happened just after a HP recommended Refresh, any ideas?

I went back to the HP driver downloads support and ran an another Bios Update.

Alto, the computer began to work properly, the screen will be lite to the top of the keyboard.

Once asleep, wakes you up by button tapping power and computer stops correctly.

HP/Microsoft should seek to solve the problem of no compatibility with Bios level and

    other 'stuff' in the computer.

    Thank you

  • HP Pavilion a375c: black screen, the Pavilion a375c locking

All making a normal email on my computer screen suddenly froze and the computer does not respond to all keyboard input or mouse.

I used the power button to turn the computer off and start it again.

The video monitor showed nothing if I turn it off and on, and then he showed "no signal".

I have a keyboard and a wireless mouse, and I noticed that the receiver, that normally flashes blue when a device accesses, was dark, no activity.

Turn on the PC, there was a brief (3 seconds) of the disk activity, then nothing.  The fan works.

I took it to Geek Squad, they feel that the video card is bad, because no signal comes out of it and yet it is powered.  So my questions:

    1. what this diagnosis make sense?  Surprised that it would interrupt in the Middle using the PC.  No new appliances, surge, etc. have been introduced.  Also surprised that a video problem seems to prevent what anyone else.  I assumed that if I used the keyboard, which could invoke an activity of the disk, but all i/o devices appear to be non-functional.

    2. technician claims that it can find a replacement video card since I am running XP.  Amazon and eBay are full of advice that claim XP compatibility, but I do not know what card should I look for to make a selection.  My model is retired so there is nothing on the HP site I can find to provide technical advice.  Does anyone know of a replacement suitable for this machine, card assuming it's really the problem?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.  I'm leaving out countery Tuesday and really need this PC work to finish a job.

Okay, Yes, you have an AGP x 8 slots for graphics then.

I don't know much on NVidia 5200 graphics except that they are closer no graphics as possible without no graphics.  Your PC has a TV tuner?  The card you have does not seem to support this, but I don't know why.

Try the following search on ebay:

    Vamery 9550 256 MB DDR AGP 8 X VGA

It should take you right to the issue I mentioned.  I checked the reference of the pass mark on this v. the NVidia 5200 card and this card is 5 times more powerful than the option of NVidia.  In addition, it should work safely in your PC.  The price is $20.85 ppd, which is not too bad at the end of the day.  It also comes with the driver software.

I recommend running it through your contact Geek Squad and see how it feels as an option on this subject.

    NVidia 5200 Passmark benchmark: 7

    Radeon 9550 Passmark references: 35

Higher is better compared to the indicators.  Indicates the ability of the rendering graphics card...

  • Safari freezes on link with anchor

    Hello

    https://translate.Twitter.com/Forum/forums/English-UK/topics/7000?page=5#post-54 600

Note that this link has a #anchor at the end. When I try to open it with my mini iPad Safari browser (iOS 8) it causes app to freeze and when reopened, it freezes again if you try to do something. At the opening of the story, it is empty; When you try to type in a URL, the entry does not work.

It's really annoying and I'm trying to avoid, but if I accidentally type one, I have to delete ALL data, cookies, etc., which is the worst because you have to connect to all your Web sites over and over again.

Apparently some people have had this problem with Desktop Google Chrome too, so it's definitely a problem of coding the site.

This happened to you too? What can I do to fix the freeze without deleting anything? I have tried the lock + home force shutdown, but it does nothing. Do you know where I can ask someone to examine what is causing the anchor all plant? I'm not a computer or coding knowledge, so if you understand how it works I got appreaciate if you look in this.

    Thank you!

'Works for me.' You are using Safari on iOS 9.3.2. You say that you did a restart, but it does nothing. Do you mean it does not restart, or it does not help? Looks like it is a problem with your iPad, and not on the site.

You have a reason to not update to the current iOS?

    Hello

    Try the following.

Open windows control panel, open Device Manager, expand keyboards, right-click on the Standard PS/2 keyboard and select uninstall.

Once this done, shut down the laptop - if you're running Windows 8/8.1, do it by holding down the button SHIFT left click Shutdown to temporarily prevent a hybrid boot.

One time finished, disconnect the power adapter, and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

    Hello

Your laptop is to produce a code hexadecimal halt which is stored in the ram as a 'one stop' and is recalculated after a reboot.  This indicates that you have a FRIEND bios later and unfortunately none of the current code generators will work - surprisingly, you can always remove power on password of the machine by removing the cell RTC (leave the connected Power Board) then hold down the power button for 60 seconds before reinserting the RTC.

The bad news is that the RTC may be on the 'wrong' side of the system board, so it will take some disassembly.

    Kind regards
