HP Pavilion a375c: black screen, the Pavilion a375c locking

All making a normal email on my computer screen suddenly froze and the computer does not respond to all keyboard input or mouse.

I used the power button to turn the computer off and start it again.

The video monitor showed nothing if I turn it off and on, and then he showed "no signal".

I have a keyboard and a wireless mouse, and I noticed that the receiver, that normally flashes blue when a device accesses, was dark, no activity.

Turn on the PC, there was a brief (3 seconds) of the disk activity, then nothing.  The fan works.

I took it to Geek Squad, they feel that the video card is bad, because no signal comes out of it and yet it is powered.  So my questions:

1. what this diagnosis make sense?  Surprised that it would interrupt in the Middle using the PC.  No new appliances, surge, etc. have been introduced.  Also surprised that a video problem seems to prevent what anyone else.  I assumed that if I used the keyboard, which could invoke an activity of the disk, but all i/o devices appear to be non-functional.

2. technician claims that it can find a replacement video card since I am running XP.  Amazon and eBay are full of advice that claim XP compatibility, but I do not know what card should I look for to make a selection.  My model is retired so there is nothing on the HP site I can find to provide technical advice.  Does anyone know of a replacement suitable for this machine, card assuming it's really the problem?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.  I'm leaving out countery Tuesday and really need this PC work to finish a job.

Okay, Yes, you have an AGP x 8 slots for graphics then.

I don't know much on NVidia 5200 graphics except that they are closer no graphics as possible without no graphics.  Your PC has a TV tuner?  The card you have does not seem to support this, but I don't know why.

Try the following search on ebay:

Vamery 9550 256 MB DDR AGP 8 X VGA

It should take you right to the issue I mentioned.  I checked the reference of the pass mark on this v. the NVidia 5200 card and this card is 5 times more powerful than the option of NVidia.  In addition, it should work safely in your PC.  The price is $20.85 ppd, which is not too bad at the end of the day.  It also comes with the driver software.

I recommend running it through your contact Geek Squad and see how it feels as an option on this subject.

NVidia 5200 Passmark benchmark: 7

Radeon 9550 Passmark references: 35

Higher is better compared to the indicators.  Indicates the ability of the rendering graphics card...

    Hello

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel - device
Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right click
on devices and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

Another method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure)
CTRL + ALT + DELETE and on the tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - then
on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is reached
by tapping F8 as you start several times.

It is a Compaq Presario CQ57-311SO and its a little more than 1 year, so store warranty has expired.

What happens is that when you press the button power has nothing to display on the screen and you do not hear the sounds of typical start-up, the beep and the hard disk rotates upward.

Instead of this, the Caps Lock key led flashes in the following model, 2 flashes pause 2 flashes.

The computer is totally immune to any key, usb and cd entries.

I tried the hard reset and memory sharing in different locations.

But it seems that the bios itself is corrupt and failed.

  • Satellite A105-S4114 - black screen, maybe the heating problem?

    Hey all

I'm new to the Board and I really hope that someone can help me with my computer problems.
I have a Toshiba Satellite A105-S4114. In the last week or so, it started to get a black screen. If I m in the middle of watching a video, the sound would just go to a repetitive tone (very annoying sound) and the screen freezes completely.

He sometimes goes to a black screen. The screen is not black as if the CPU is off but it's dark and nothing is displayed. This occurs when the computer has been for a little. I have had it over 2 hours now, and if this problem persists, it will happen more frequently. I've updated all the software and windows xp. Some people tell me that my motherboard is dying and I can't do anything, but some people say maybe it's an overheating problem.

The vent on the left hand does not always give off light, but the laptop gets hot enough. Is it possible that my fan is dying? In the case of this "black screen", the computer is not power down and for this reason, I ve people had told me that he is not an overheating problem.

    Any ideas?

Help, please. I sprayed the CPU down to the dust, and it has gotten a little better. I hold hope that I don't need to buy a replacement right away. I've had this for about 3 years.

    Thank you, Danny.

    [email protected]

    Hey mate,

I think that for the moment no one can really say what the reason, but I also think it might be an overheating problem and you should start cleaning your laptop first. The point is that if the laptop is overheated (e. g. graphics card), you might get a black screen, freezes or your laptop stops immediately. So if please try to clean and follow these instructions: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD7A01ZZ000AR01.htm

Of course it could also be a motherboard problem but the laptop cleaning is cheaper and quicker ;)

    Hello

I have a HP G62-b05SD. I noticed that many people have the problem of simmular.

Sometimes when I boot / reboot system screen turns black after the windows logo, but if I wait a while, I do not hear the star tune up windows, but the screen remains black.

If I all out en usb port restart or turn on the machine for the first time this day here, everything starts well.

So there must be some driver problems I think with usb ports and the screen or something.

  • BlackBerry smartphone screen turns black in the Blackberry Bold 9900, but everything else, keys, touchpad screen and keyboard still works.

It is a problem, I think that many have known, but there is no real solution to the problem. However, initially all of a sudden phone has begun to show an error (can't remember not exactly what, but something related to something does not turn) and the screen locked with constantly showing loading circling constantly clock and the narrowing of the battery quickly. what I've done; Hold the alt + right shift + del (twice) to restart the phone. Restarting the phone, the screen turns black (which indicates there is neither power or the screen itself issue and it's just a matter of graphics functionality). The phone restarts you black screen, the phone clearly charged the software couple received messages (indicating the phone works and the network also works). The phone rings again and the touchpad works if you know by heart, keyboard and the short keys for speed dial works (which means that yo can call), but the screen turned black. I think it's graphic material rather software number. I tried to do all sorts of stuff and things, did not work. Finally, I decided to restore the Blackberry software (running the latest version 7.1) so I plugged it in to the computer and run terminal BlackBerry Desktop to perform an update failed with this error: "an error occurred when downloading the BlackBerry® Desktop software. Please try again. "and offered to launch the"regsvr32 ole32.dll"in order to connect to the Blackberry server to do the update. tried, restarted my PC, plug the unit again removing battery, replacement and tried again, keep showing the same error. I tried all the advice forums, youtube videos and even troubleshooting I contacted Microsoft (running windows 7 64-bit), server connection module installed and works perfectly still having the same problem.

I hope that blackberry had a clear answer to these questions and have someone in the customer service who can solve the problem instead referring users to the forum!

Anyone who had experienced the same problem and found a solution, please respond. your help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

The GPU is integrated into the cpu, so the phone would not ring or the touchpad does not work. It is possible that the phone fell or anything that could cause the connections on the motherboard to disconnect, I gave up my 9930 and causes the connector unplugs. Would you feel comfortable taking apart? It's easy, I think you could look up how do on YouTube. I could help you if you are on Central time or Pacific.

This does not happen on my computers.  Try to download Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and see if that makes a difference.  I also recommend the safe boot and checking the virus.  Get your updated antivirus program and boot into Safe Mode. Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan in Safe Mode. To enter in Safe Mode when you turn on first, press F8 on every seconds until you get the menu, and then select Safe Mode. Then run a complete system scan.

I m afraid the BIOS update has no procedure and therefore the ROM chip has not updated as it should. This is the reason why the laptop can not start correctly.

I think that it of necessary to reflash the ROM BIOS module Once again, but this can be done only using a procedure of BIOS of crisis.
As far as I know this can be done only through ASP because there is no traditional BIOS version by download.

  • Black screen after updates of Windows 8.1 - No. Cursor (Lenovo 50-75) - and gets hot

The behavior is reproducible, 2 times. Also when it crashes at the black screen, the van get reall busy, Levy and the laptop gets hot.

Anyone working on this issue, or has any idea what should I do?

Updating the BIOS is not always my first option (risk, performance vs).

Anyway... It works, everything is good.

  • Studio XPS 8000 (end 2009) + EVGA GTX 750 Ti, wake-up service by default/black screen saver (S3)

My Studio XPS 8000 (end of 2009) has no problem with sleep (S3) and wake up before I upgraded the Dell OEM Geforce GTX 260 arrives with the EVGA Geforce GTX 750 Ti system.

At present, the system has no question to go to sleep mode, however, when I try to wake the system by pressing power button/keyboard/mouse, System stucks after I hear the disc hard turns noise, and the screen stays black (no signal), then the system hangs there forever. I have to turn off the system and restart.

Other than / Eve black screen, the system works without any problem.

I upgrade the firmware MB(0X231R, intel P55) A03 BIOS, make sure also that I use the latest version of the driver for the gtx 750 ti (344.75 WHQL). Operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium. Still no luck.

750Ti GTX are supposed to use much less energy than the GTX 260. Is not the issue of power supply. On some forums, I found people say X 58 (not P55, but maybe the same reason) mainboard a sleep problem with latest Nvidia cards, because of the interactions between the BIOS and the operating system. The problem, to a patch of BIOS. XPS8000 being 5 years old, I don't think not that it will receive an update of the BIOS.

I wonder if there is a solution to this problem?

    Thank you.

Update: the issue has been raised again.

I need to talk with Nvidia support agents, and they helped.

The next step fixed my problem:

And further to isolate the problem, remove the graphic driver NVIDIA completely and start the cmputer only with generic driver checking windows if she still has the issue.

Use the display driver UN-Installer (DDU) and remove the NVIDIA files.

Display of the Nations United-for driver installation (DDU): http://www.wagnardmobile.com/DDU/

-Restart the computer and when it restarts windows will install the default display driver, let it install.

Once installed the default driver, please check the functionality of the PC.

The critical step is to use DDU to completely remove in safe mode video card driver!
