Pavilion p7 - 1266 s: Officejet 8500 has not been recognized by the HP Pavilion desktop computer

I have a desktop HP Pavilion p7 - 1266 s and a Toshiba laptop. The two are connected, wireless, a HP Officejet Pro 8500. Both are running Windows7, 64-bit.

Until yesterday, I was able to print on both computers with no problems. Today, I can only print to the Toshiba laptop. When I go to devices and printers on the desktop screen, the Officejet is gray and I cannot print. This happened once before, about a year or two ago, and I don't remember how the issue has been resolved. Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you.

I understand that you are able to print your Toshiba, but not from your HP Pavilion computer. I see that you have your 8500 wireless configuration and that when you look into the device and printers, the printer appears greyed out. I suspect deleting and re-add the printer will solve the problem, but it may be better to run printing HP and doctor Scan because it is a free utility (tool) that helps you to quickly solve or identify common printing, scanning and connectivity problems including but not limited to:

  • Connectivity:

    USB: Check that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product works properly.

    Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working properly.

  • Device Status Test: checks the errors of the device, such as paper, paper jams, stands transport and paper issues and provides instructions to resolve the error.

  • Driver: checks the driver missing or corrupt files.

  • Device Manager: check the problems in Device Manager that could prevent printing.

  • Device online: check if the product has been suspended or put in offline and then sets the State back in line if necessary.

  • Print queue: checks and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a newspaper for printing waiting to print).

  • Port Match: check the port settings for the HP product.

  • Device conflicts: check the conflicts with other drivers, such as the other brands of printers.

  • Ink issues: check the cartridges and the ink levels for issues that affect the print quality.

  • Print settings: check and adjust the print quality settings.

  • Test print: print a test page for the assessment of the print quality and provides options for cleaning and if necessary print head alignment.

  • Scan tests: check the scanning mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.

If this does not resolve the problem, after back and let me know if there are all the symbols except the Green checkmarks and what they are next of course. The key is not always easy to find the key and the box are in the green circle.

  • If you see only the Green checkmarks (), the tool did not find any problem.

  • If you see green sides (), the utility identified a problem and fix it automatically.

  • If you see yellow exclamation points (), the test failed and requires monitoring of the user, but the step was ignored.

  • If you see a red X (), follow the onscreen instructions to fix the problem.

      According to the description, it seems that you are having problems with uninstall Redmon as it gives the error message "monitor has not been deleted. The PDFLitePort provided by the monitor is still used. "Unplug all printers on this port, and then delete this port.

      Calendar (aka Lightning) contains binary components, which are dependent on OS. Thus, you should not remove the add-on lightning in your add-ons Manager and install the Windows version of lightning.

      For this according to the MOS doc: error during deployment formsapp.ear file in an Instance of Apps R12 (Doc ID 1074765.1), updated the opmn.xml not record as no chance.

      Here in the opmn.xml file we gave realhost.domain.com and virtualhost.domain.com both are same host name. Please advise us if this is not correct.

      I read a few messages with similar questions, but none that have exactly the same problem. Auto answer on my Officejet 8500 is on and there is a light.  I tried this turn by both pushing the button on the machine, as well as through the web interface.  I have put fax to send e-mails and not functioning properly.  The phone cord is plugged into the correct port on the printer and I use a telephone with 2 wires in cable and not 4 (some thought that the cord 4-wire has been the question but I do not know how it would make a difference).  I even tried to see if the machine to auto answer when the auto answer button has been turned off, just in case it worked in reverse.

      The fax can send as well as receive (so the cord should work) via sending e-mail function that I put in place.  We can receive faxes if someone is there to push a button, but no one is often.  Everything should work perfectly if she just automatically answer... which is essential to any fax machine in general.  Anyone know what could be the cause and how to fix it?  If we cannot get this to work, we get a different machine.

      Operating system: Windows XP Pro

      There were no changes to my system before that happened.

      Are there updates that could take care of this?

      NOTE: Fax to PC and fax to Mac are available to receive faxes in black and white only. Color faxes are printed instead of be saved on the computer.

      I recently turned on my laptop and my profile/account was not recognized during the startup of the computer toward the top, so a temporary account/profile is used instead.  I did some work saved information on the computer using this temp-account profile.  My regular account/profile has been recognized at every time since, but I was not able to find the location of the temp profile/account or the information stored when using this profile/account temporarily.  The profile was not a guest account or an administrator account.  That's only 2 accounts visible to me.  There is only 1 account on the laptop so I actually disabled guest accounts.

      I work for a large government agency. My computer has been updated a while back (replaced by a new tablet pc). The problem is that my computer support person do not uninstall my Dreamweaver 8 and I was on the day that my computer has been replaced.

      Now I am trying to reinstall my Dreamweaver 8 it tells me it is already an existing serial number and will not complete installation. Please help me with my product. I need to use it as soon as possible.

      Try to run DW 8 in XP Mode.

      Either by the way, your license allows you to have 2 DW8 facilities at some point (for example: one on your desk, on your laptop).  You need not uninstall DW8 unless you plan to move it to another machine.

      Hi, I hope I'm in the right forum! I have a laptop Aspire with Photoshop CS5 extended. The computer's hard drive crashed and so I had to get another hard drive! Obviously as the hard drive crashed, I was unable to disable CS5 extended before the crash. I have it charging on the new hard drive and in the meantime bought a desktop computer in which I loaded CS5. Updates have been working fine on the laptop. I tried to update the program on the new computer, but continue to receive error messages. I have read in any problems and think maybe computer laptop harddrive that crashed had CS5 yet on it, as I was unable to turn it off because I didn't know he was going to crash. I am only able to load CS5 on 2 computers and if it is still on the destroyed hard drive so I'm not able to turn it off and so I presume that is why I can not download the updates on my new computer.       Case # 916052508: The Tech connected to my PC and solve problems, later told me to remember the next day because of the need to do some research and he is about to send me a confirmation email.

      Note: I see that the tech used the third party as 'pilot booster 2' to detect and download software drivers.

      I have not received any mail. The next day I waited and did not receive any call from the time wherever he said call me.

      Unfortunately, Dell USA return policy States that a refund is allowed inside the first 21 days of the date of the original invoice. Once out of warranty, your only option of Dell is the expired Warranty Service. There is no excuse for Technical Support agents to not remember. I'd wait on them. You should post the question to the General Council of office equipment so that our users can help solve. They are quick to react.
