Pavilion s5213w: HP Recovery s5213w

Tried to do a system F11 recovery, got the following error message:

Windows could not start.  A recent hardware of software change might be the problem.  To solve the problem:

1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer.

2. choose your language settings, and then click "next".

3. click on "repair your computer".

Status: 0xc000000e

Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is not accessible.

Created a set of recovery disks (3), get the following messages:

Windiows is loading files

Windows startup

System recovery disks is not supported by this computer.  You are not able to restore this system with these discs.

These disks have been created within the system.

Computer is: s5000 series: according to HP model number is a: s5213w.  System number is: NY646AA #ABA, serial number is: MXU95108OS.

According to the HP website, I created a bootdisc, bootdisc load.  It has a green checkmark, a picture of a computer to eject CD and the other with a helping hand with 3 disks.  I click on one of the photos, but nothing happens.

Your recommendation is appreciated.

Help please.

Thank you.

I suggest to try the Recovery Manager again when starting.  The message indicates that the F11 try in Recovery Manager missed and that the message is really from Windows failure at startup.  Just to be clear, however, this message can be say that the hard drive has failed.  The message displayed is typical m $ that he doesn't really say you enough to know what happened.

If the hard drive has failed, then the message of all the recovery would be significant, as well, because it does not find the hard drive.

If after several attempts and still not get anywhere, then maybe look in the BIOS to see if the hard drive is not detected.  By checking the release date for the PC, it indicates the unit is 6 years old, so it could certainly be a failure of the hard drive.

At this point, your best bet is to use a third-party product known as Macrium Reflect.

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together: http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

My experience is that SIR, when you use the option of Compression high, typically allows to compress the image file recorded at about 50% of the space USED in the OS partition.  This means that if you have a 40GB and 80GB OS partition is used, MR must only about 20 GB to store the image file.

I use all the time and it usually takes less than 10 minutes to make the backup of the image and at the same time or less do a restore.

In addition, MR has the ability to add a recovery Boot Menu entry.  This then allows you to boot into Windows re, and then you can use it to do a restore - when you cannot start Windows!

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

  • HP pavilion dv7-6b55dx recovery disk

    Hi all

I have a hp Pavilion dv7-6b55dx hard drive failed.  Fairly easy to install a new hard drive, but its been a bit more difficult to find any kind of information recovery disk.  The laptop has a hand, and we only had a very short time. Ever created of my own restore disks (I know, I know).  It used Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit.

I can't find anything on the HP site regarding recovery assistance, its seems that my camera is no longer supported.  I spoke with Microsoft, although the Windows product key is always on the computuer itself, they said I have to buy a new operating system on their part.  And then even after that, I guess I would have to update the other pilot material as well and may require some sort of recovery disk?  I've been on the HP site, it doesn't seem to be another option to pay to speak with someone, and at this point, I'm afraid that I would pay to hear that there nothing more they can do.

If you can't tell from my post, I'm not the most computer-savvy person.  I searched online for ideas and found no too.  Most other suggestions are a few years now and do not seem to apply more.  Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

Unfortunately, the site linked to research is a waste of your time because HP is only a recovery media for PC for 5 years since their initial release.

If you have purchased separately and selling retail Windows OS, then you will need to contact Microsoft for installation. Drivers can be downloaded from hp.com.

If you are referring to the operating system that came preinstalled then that can can be reinstalled using recovery media.

An adviser reception, or if the HP can mabe contact me if disks can be provided.

    Thank you

    Hello:

    Yes you can.

Here are the instructions and you should be all set.

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

  • Pavilion x 360: Recovery Manager / incomplete restoration; Error of CTO

    Hello folks...

Ok.. so... Last maybe ish around Friday, I managed to get some kind of virus/malware which took over.  Tried to remove anything but simply opted to do a reset via the useful HP Recovery Manager.

Everything was fine until the end and he said that it has failed or something (if there are several days)... Would recover to zero the system (if this is important).  Whatever - he said it has failed, you need to restart, click 'ok' and it was then that he would not start.

Just saw the logo screen HP, circles bit twirly, screen becomes black, gray and starts with the HP logo screen again and again. Made this for a few hours and finally just stop it completely.

I went into the start menus, ran tests (HARD drive, memory, battery, motherboard, etc.) and everything is in working order. Run try to reset the computer to factory settings... 1/2 day later, it ends upward (I see the office during the final stages) and then all of a sudden I get the «restoration incomplete - save log/details/try again»

    Product Version information: 1.1530.23.0 # N5R10UA #ABA

Details: Unexpected reboot during [installation procedure for Windows} will cause panic CTO because the image might not be normal now.

Retry does nothing except continue the incomplete screen.

Tried the BIOS to 02/01/2014, 02/01/2013 including some messages/support pages suggested.

At the end of my tether.

The partition is the same as Recovery Media - but in case of corruption or hard disk failure, you will need a recovery media to boot from.

Fill a case of pension guarantee on the page here. They should take care of you without delay:

  • G6-1103sa Pavilion, completed the recovery after problems, but does not restart after recovery

    Hello

I have a Pavilion g6-1103sa, with Windows 7, after a few problems of software I could just get to open in safe mode, so saving docs and images on a remote hard drive successfully, tried to complete a restoration of the system to the factory settings by pressing the ESC key on the switch and selecting the option to do so.

When the restoration is complete, the there is a message saying that the restoration was a success and the laptop restarts, however all that happensis a message appears saying: your computer is preparing for first use, but then nothing happens

    What can I do now?

    Hello dgreen1004,

Like the previous step to reinstall the OS from the recovery partition has failed, the only other option is to try a recovery media. Per your request, I am including information on how to get a recovery media. Please open the link following "Research drives HP recovery or a USB HP recovery disc?".

    Kind regards.
