  You will not be able to do what you want using makeMenu.  Instead, you will need to override onMenu() to the screen.  Here's a sample:

  Yes, it's quite simple really.

  Press the button of your BB (to the left of the trackball) and you will get the full menu. The icons in the top row are the ones you see on the home screen. This way, rolling the trackball on the icon that you want on the House and again press the BB button and click on 'move' and then just move it up to the top line.   Also, if you are new to BB then a whole small trick to extend the life of your battery a bit, and then in the same menu as the convenience keys to change the "brightness" from 100 to 10, it made very little difference to the display for you but made a saving on the battery life.
