My network printer will display the test in Windows 7 page, but nothing else. It is a Brother MFC-440CN

Hi djmatthewlee

1. How is the printer connected to the network?

2. is the printer directly connected to the Windows 7 computer?
3. do you have the updated drivers installed for the printer?

You can refer to the link below and use the printer troubleshooter. See if it resolves the issues -

I hope this helps.

I have latest driver for Vista, but cannot print on the photo tray.  It won't make the plateau, although it works fine when you print the test page.  I tried different settings of page/paper and "photo tray" settings to turn on, but still not Vista print.

Tried to 8250 printer properties, change the paper settings, but cannot recognize the settings, even if she sees the book and the test page is printed.  Seems to work with XP very well.

Connected to an XP machine, printed photo.

Reconnect the Vista, fooled with the parameters, and then it worked!

I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and still does not print anything else than the test page.

Hello and thanks for your response update.

Just to check something, since you stated that you receive an error message indicating "USB port is not connected. Please check if the USB cable is connected to the printer, and then follow the power cord and make sure it is plugged into your computer.

When you reinstalled the software for your Photosmart C4780, installation, was your detected USB cord and has been the success of the software?

  • HP4500. Wireless: Wireless HP4500 - prints Test Page but nothing else

I just bought my first iMac.  I also have a HP (Windows) laptop connected wireless to a HP Officejet 4500 Wireless printer/fax combination for work.  For the new iMac, I loaded the software from the HP drive.  The test page printed beautifully, but nothing prints.  No e-mail, not a word processor file, nothing.  I have tried the uninstall / reboot / reinstall way nothing helps.  I saw the instructions to configure a static IP address, but I'm not sure what could do to my current computer-printer link.  Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, I am not sure I can reproduce the steps but I finally got my printer to work.  I had to install a new driver from HP and Hello "Multifunction" from Apple.  After several reboots, the printer works now.  Sheesh!

  • HP Photosmart C410a: printing test page but nothing else

Our printer wasn't working at all, so I uninstalled and reinstalled. He immediately printed the test page, but when I tried to print from Word, it does not print. It works through the sequence, is the impression that it appears, but the page comes out blank. I ran the software troubleshooting and print doctor, but as many say that everything is OK and even once, the test page printed correctly. Help, please?

You stop and restart your PC?  Sometimes, after you have reinstalled the drivers, you must restart your PC.  I had to do recently with our printer at home.

  • HP Officejet 4315 printer prints test page but nothing else

I have a printer HP Officejet 4315 (Windows 7 Ultimate) can print the test page, but I can't print anything else, this goes through all the motions as it is printing. I've already deleted and reinstalled and went to HP online and updated everything he told me to do. I connect to my laptop to print even if it is a wireless printer. I need help.

    Hello

    1. you remember to make changes to the computer?

    2. do you get an error message when you try to print?

    Follow these methods mentioned below.

Method 1: I suggest you run the printer Troubleshooter and verify.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-printer-Troubleshooter

Method 2: Check if the status of the print spooler service is started.

A print spooler is software that temporarily stores the disk printing hard or in memory until the printer is ready to print.

    Please follow the steps below:

You must be logged on as administrator to perform these steps.

    a. open administrative tools by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type Administrative Tools, and then click Administrative Tools.

    b. double-click on Services. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    c. right-click on the print spooler service, and then click Properties.

    d. under the tab general , next to Startup type, make sure that Automatic is selected.

    e. If the service is not already running, under Service status, click Startand then click OK. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  • DeskJet 932 c: 932 c prints alignment page but nothing else

This printer worked like a champ since Windows 98!  When I recently switched from Windows 7 to Windows 10, he worked again like a champion.

I replaced the black ink today, and he will just print the alignment page.

If I try to print a test page, Windows 10 only tells me there is an error and it will not be printed. No error number or anything.

If I try to print anything else, I get the same results.

I have no orange lights, just the clear green power is on.

If I open the lid, it points to the sad face with a top point.

It is connected via LPT port, which I installed in my computer.

I have no idea what to do now. Any help would be fantastic.

Problem solved. I returned the faulty cartridge with a new one. Printer did not work. I returned the perfectly good ink cartridge and my money back. Then I bought another printer. And had leftovers for change.

  • Comments for network printer is no longer available in Windows 7

Windows 7 print, add comments/location section when adding printers & printing.

In windows XP when you add a new network printer, it displays the name & comments, but in Windows 7, it displays only the name, use us common generic names for all printers & add name of hp in the comments box. Is there a way to display comments position when adding new printers.

Also what will print files from any program, when you click the drop-down menu to select the printer required is there a way to display the comments section because it shows only the name of the printer.

You'd better try the feedback program.  I'm just pointing to the old printers folder, designed by team impression rather than devices and printers created by another file group.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 a Premium: HP Officejet Pro 8500 a Premium does not print the docs of the computer, but will display a test page.

HP Officejet Pro 8500 a Premium does not print the docs of the computer, but will display a test page.  I constantly get a message that the computer cannot communicate with the printer.   Not only it will be not be printed docs, it will not print web pages using 11 IE or Google Chrome.

I used print and Scan of doctor, he always reports there are no questions and print page one same test so I can not print anything else.

Whenever I want to print, I have to restart the computer.  After the reboot, I have a chance to print.   This problem started on February 15, 2015.

My operating system is Windows 8.1.   I have unintalled HP, rebooted, and then reinstalled the software software:

    OJ8500_A910_1315 - 1.exe

HP Print and Scan - HPPSdr.exe doctor

    HPSupportSolutionsFramework - 11.51.0049.msi

All versions were last uploaded on 4 April 2015.

I have a home wireless network (router Ubee DDW366).  All other devices in the House will be printed on the printer of 8500 has no problems: 2 Toshiba laptops, 2 Android phones and 1FireHD.

The desk top is installed with a network card Netgear, I don't know the model, but I had it tested by a PC technology to verify that the card works.   The card and 8.1 of Windows have been installed on January 3, 2015.

I have run virus scans and analyzes malware.  Whenever they show that there are no problems with my desktop computer.  What kind of desktop? Specially designed for my listing of... without brand computer parts store.  ASUS motherboard P6X580 Premium.  Now I will probably get hacked!

I'm at my wits end.  And it's frustrating when I need to print something and the system hangs.  I often use screen printing to a word document to save in order to restart... but then I lose all sorts of features when I pick up what I needed.  It is also a time consuming.

This printer we served well for two years and I have expensive cartridges pending; another two cycles of recharge.

    Help?

Addendum: can I scan with the HP printer help.  I open the HP printer assistant, he "gets" the printer information, then I select "scan a document or photo" and the printer answers.   I have no problem with the sweep.

It has been awhile, but I played on something you wrote.  "There could be a software conflict with the HP software" everything worked very well... impression was shifted at best; just didn't know if it would work.  So I would eliminate a program, reboot clean, try to print, and then reinstall the software.  I finally found the culprit.  I had a program running in the background, occasionally.  When it ran, HP does not print.  Stop the program and I was able to print... Do not have a problem since I found it... I do not say that it was a software to share files... so I replaced since this program with something else that doesn't cause problems...  It took a long time and I couldn't work the question every day.... but I can say that I have problems printing for the past 5 days!  I can print with confidence.

  • Computer will display the text but not the graphics

I have a computer that is running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit that will display the text, but will not be graphic print (what I get is several pages of garbled text and what looks like Morse code).

The problem is the same with a HP Officejet Pro 6230 or an Officejet Pro 8100.

The problem occurs if I am connected with a domain users account or the local administrator account.

The problem occurs using the re-discovery of HP network port monitor or the standard TCP/IP port.

Two other computers connected to the printer and also running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, you do not have the problem.

HP printing and doctor Scan didn't find any problem and is not the problem of printer Microsoft Fixit fix anything.

I will try to assign another driver by following the instructions at:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/printer-all-in-one-software-drivers/how-to-assign-alternate-print-drivers-in-different-versions/TD-p/1957011

but I do not know what driver to use.

    This Technet article:

    http://blogs.technet.com/b/perfguru/archive/2008/08/06/print-spooler-crash-troubleshooting-steps.aspx

suggests that a third-party port monitor may be to blame. I tried to remove the rediscovery of HP Network Monitor, but I get an error and I can't remove it. As far as I can tell, this is the third port only installed on the computer monitor.

I have searched this forum, but could not find a similar problem that has a solution.

What other information should I provide?

    Thank you!

  • is it possible to write a script that will display the script files folder in the tree

is it possible to write a script that will display the script files folder in the tree

    Yes :-)

In your previous post, someone suggested to search for the file "SnpCreateTreeview.jsx", because it would just be the asked.

The script can be found here, just accept the EULA and download the example scripts of Bridge CS3. (For some reason it is not in CS4 samples because as far as I know)

Here's a version with small changes, it is up to you to point the script in the folder 'root' right, because this is, needless to C: on PC:

    Description

Creates two hierarchical list of TreeView items. One is static, with a fixed set of point
nodes that you can expand and collapse. The other is dynamic; Item nodes are added and removed as
the need for a view of the file system.

The list items in the TreeView control to display the folders and files custom images.  When you add items to the
TreeView list, type 'article' is used for elements of the leaf and 'node' to the elements of the container.

Dynamic TreeView captures events in two different ways. It uses callback functions to capture the
node to expand and collapse events and selection changes and also registers an event listener to
    capture double-click events.

    Hi Dominic,

Are you able to get into BIOS to make changes?

If so, you can try to reset the default settings of the BIOS and check.

NOTE: Change (CMOS) BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

You can also try to remove all external usb devices that can be connected to the system and start-up and see if the system boots.
